  • Fruity noise ?

  • @qbubbaq I think he said "throaty"

  • LOL blue smoke

  • The cars running rich

  • Review is very well done, thanks. Carry on.

  • that cars smoking too much

  • Yep new Turbo and probable guide seals, awesome machine though

  • "A bloke called Martin.."

  • Dad had one of these, a red one :)

  • I got one :D

  • Did someone say w i n n i n g ?

  • "The first four wheel drive performance car"...I don't think so. How could a british forget the Jensen FF?

  • @ErnestHemingwayJr first 4 wheel drive car that worked they should of said. Jensen was beautiful but like any german car its decades ahead of its time before the rest of the car world catch up or cant make it anything like an audi. Which makes it a top of the tree in cars.

  • I am the akward person who LOVE both Fifth Gear and Top Gear UK.

  • The engine has burned it's valves. Doesn't the UK have strict emmission laws? Can that car be license for the road with the blue smoke coming from the rear.

  • The presenter is okay, but i wouldn't hire him to be a presenter on TV in fifh gear. He is too bland, and not much of a driver. For instance Jason Plato, he's an experienced race car driver and has character, this bloke called Grahan hasn't got neither of those. And yeah, the turbo sure has seen better days on that UrQuattro.

  • This guy suits graphic card reviews better than this.

  • audi=improved vw

  • Audi and it's turbo's never last as long as NA engine or does audi makes car that are 'cool' but don't last long. Like a dumb blonde u have for a wife..?

  • e30

    m3 is much better..

  • I saw a Top Gear segment from around 1990 or so, and Jeremy Clarkson said nearly the same thing about the Quattro's reputation among 4WD sports cars, albeit his wording was more careful: "the first SUCCESSFUL pairing of 4WD with a sports car". Yes, the Jensen FF did precede this car, as the Simca 1100 Ti did the more famous VW Golf GTI. The point is that the idea of 4WD + sports didn't catch fire until the Quattro.

  • Dreadful review, where do Fifth Gear get these people? Philip Glenister would do a far more interesting review.

And anyway, it wasn't the "first four wheel drive performance car", the Jensen FF has that honour.

  • Did he just call the turbo ... fruity....

  • 1:51 nice one dip shit, you're also 'winning' when you're on the fuel reserve.

  • Im crying

  • parece um santana

  • Was the voice over done in a bathroom? The echo is horrendous.

  • 4 minutes and 30 seconds into the video and I finally realize why I only watch Top Gear. Also, that "American Beauty" music in the end was fucking gay as hell. At least give us some "Legendary" or "Epic" score.

  • Now days, only Nissan know how to make AWD the correct way...

  • 100 years from now, people in the future will look back and say: "Remember the Bugatti Veyron? That thing ran on gas!! HAHAHA Noobs!"....

  • Am I the only one to notice it's smoking a tad, wouldnt fill me with confidence that!

  • @Dermo1985 No you are not. It's probably burning oil...

  • first performance four wheel drive car is not audi's quattro but came from britain, the Jensen FF. commentator being british should know this...and im not even from britain!

  • WINNING!

  • I'm restoring one identical to this only black, it's only a few things away from running down the street :)

  • This and Lancia Delta HP Integrale Best Cars of the Era !!!!

  • And it was so fast and easy to drive that even a French women can win rallies and finish as a runner up in the Championship :P

  • People are missing the point, yes there are awd sports car before the Quattro but none of them ever worked.

The Audi Ur Quattro is a championship winning car, it's the icon of the 80's. It was so fast they had to banned Group B rallying because other manufacture keep killing their drivers trying to catch it.

  • @phantomloita - don't forget it set all those Pike's Peak records too back then

  • @phantomloita Sorry but Audi were completely out of the picture by the time that Group B was banned. Peugeot had consistently destroyed them in that class for years and the Lancia Delta S4 and Ford RS200 were the top cars to beat at the time that Group B was banned.

The Quattro even lost the manufacturers title to a rear-wheel drive Lancia 037 in 1983 which makes it the only 4WD car to lose a championship against a 2 wheel drive car.

  • dkw power

  • In most parts of the world "Fruity" = Gay.

Much like Graham. Tiff needs to teach him some aggression.

  • Did he crash something so fifth gear doesn't let him drive 21 century cars?)

  • Top gear-fifth gear only reason im watching is because im addicted to cars

  • i believe that the Jenson Interceptor FF was the first 4wd road car, and it's difficult not to call it a performance car with its monstrous engine...

  • @PoProstuKarol old chrysler v8

  • id prefer an INTEGRALE

  • blue smoke is not a good sign, piston rings in the case of my old mk2 golf gti and it blew up and had to be rebuilt.

  • Tired of listening to this IT grandma priorities at the top of his list, all the things irrelevant to what makes a great car

When he's on, I'm not, by

  • "Such a fruity noise" lol

  • ive never heard anyone describing the sound of a quattro as 'fruity'

  • It wasn't the first 4-wheel drive performence car. The first 4-wheel driven performence car was a Spyker..in 1920 or so

  • @nic3Chris and there usd to be the Jensen FF ('66-'71)

  • @nic3Chris In 1903 Spyker came out with a 60hp 4 wheel drive 2 seater. Porsche, on the other hand, had a 4 wheel driven car in 1899, which had an electric hub motor at each wheel.

  • Sssmokinn' )))

  • The quattro great car although it had some flaws. I wis h audi still did a quattro like this but even better. Ok They still make quattro's' but only the quattros 4x4 system give them this name. so the old one does not have the power of a new audi but its more fun to drive.

  • What a beautiful car. Deffinately would own one...or two. It looks similar to a Lancia Delta Integrale, another one of my favourite 80's cars.

  • @revolution1one You should check out the honda CRX of 1986 best car ever (my car) ;)

  • @SamDonck I like that car too.

  • Did he say STEVE Blomqvist?

  • Ah, I hate this poofter! (I'm not a "hater") This guy is just WRONG.

*sorry to go on and on

  • I like Top Gear better than Fifth Gear, but I like Fifth Gear as well! So shut up!

It's British, and the British are best at car shows!

  • audi quattro>lancia delta>ford cossie>jap rally bred.

  • Engine in the shown car seems to need some tlc. That said: Yep. The Quattro is a car legend, and a gorgeous one at that. It rocks my socks every time i see one. Amazing.

Besides that: I LOVE the sound of the old Audi 5 cylinder engines. I just do not get tired of listening to one, from the smallest to the most potent Audi made. Such music to my ears.

  • That exhaust does not look healthy.

  • @neostardust nope it doesn't:))

  • Nicely pronounced finnish at 0:45 :D

  • I can hardly understand a word he's saying!

  • Anybody see the A3 behind? 2:46

  • Please, O, Please get hold of an S1 and do this for us in HD quality:

    watch?v=ArPgSDVWFsU

  • WINNING!

  • @kewl10mac tiger_blood#

  • legend, I agree.

  • i think that turbo is in the end of it's life... haha... there's some blue smoke over there

  • @cvpuga engine is about to die :(

  • @cvpuga Thbe blue smoke should have nothing to do with the turbo. It is burning to much oil. More of an engine problem.

  • @fackyoudude [13:38:44] Carlos Vinícius: yes it does man... when it's in the end of its "life" the turbocharger beggins to burn oil... and considering the great condition of that beaultiful car, i've think its the turbo alright... it's very unlikely that the piston rings or the valve seal have "died" haha... unfortunatly we will never know... unless some one uploads a video "top gear quattro engine rebuilt" hahahahahaha

  • @cvpuga Valve stem seals are buggered...

  • Audi.... meh. Nice review as always though!

  • Nice.
