  • It's rare that I feel this way, but I like the english version just as much as the original. I have got to see this movie now.

  • This film is essentially a remake of beauty and the beast. Bloody good too.

  • I must admit they did well converting the song over to english, usually it screws up somewhere when they do that but this honestly turned out well in my opinion.

  • I think this song is amatózingly good! I just love it and it does not make any difference is in english or french! Both of them is genius! Simply, light and taking away! Thank you for uploading this video!

  • I want this movie, and I'll listen to the french voices while looking at english subtitles. <3

  • Love this song <3 :)

  • Original is better.

  • This is one of those rare beautiful songs i've come across in my life..... it has such magic in it... and translation might not be exactly the same... i wouldnt compare.... both are marvelous in their own ways... and @BoiteABruit .....francoeur's voice is not ugly in english... dont judge when u dont have a keen sense toward vocals .......and @Smallsthehero I really wanted an english version ...thank you so much for posting it... :)

  • La seine means The River :D

  • @jaxywax La rivière means The River... La seine means La seine ^^

  • OMG poor Francoeur, his voice is ugly -_-"

and the translation is wrong for certain words

  • great, but best in French, ("La Seine" - Un monstre à Paris) listen !!

  • ~ my heart melts, when he start singing *o* <3

  • love this song

  • i dont nonono so dont ask me why thats how we are the sene and i

    Englesh verse :3

  • i want this song to my mobile but i can't fidn it enywhere =(

  • OH MY GOD I CAN'T <3333

  • I love this song ... this remind me of ....LOVE ~

my heart melts, once he start singing <3

  • I just watched it today. No, I'm not from France BUT! This movie is awesome

  • I like it alot, the high voice of the flea sounds good along with Lucilles voice, 10/10 but it fails in comparison to "Journey 2 the mysterious island"

  • I think the pitching messed up Sean Lennon's singing, since his voice is already pretty high XD

But I love both versions of this song. and it is the same female voice actor for Lucille! Go Vanessa Paradis!

  • when does this come out in english??

  • @BitterWinters

its been out in english. i saw it the other day

  • Is the monster singing with her?

  • @KagamineLen777 Yupp.

  • @KagamineLen777

HES NOT A MONSTER!! lol jk yea he is

  • best animation in a movie!

  • i prefer this in english cos i saw the film and it was in english so i like this one better :)

  • HD??? hahahaha, funny

  • is it weird that the man's voice is higher?

  • Vanessa Paradis is singing in both versions ;) no comparison possible

  • the english version is much more better then french. imho

  • love this one where can i download it?

  • OMG looooooooove this song!!!!!

  • i just watched this movie, it was great! thanks man, for uploading this song.

btw, i would prefer this one coz the french one is very hard to pronounce (for someone who doesn't speak french like me), may be i should start learn some. it's kinda interesting :D

  • franceur reminds me of MJ!!!!

  • @robyntcrozier6 Exactly what I was thinking. Both are amazing and beautiful, but they're misunderstood and hounded by tabloids who call them "monsters". ;/

I love this song, me and my family have become obsessed with it. Amazing film too! One of the best.

  • They changed the English lyrics a bit to fit they rhyming in the song but versions are fantastic.

  • love this song ^^

  • I watched this today at the cinema and I want to watch it again and again coz of the singing

  • just saw this..bloody fantastic singing..my daughter and I were transfixed. brilliant

  • hi, can u uploade the last song plz thnks

  • What I don't get is if this is a French film, why do the lips of the characters move along to the English script and not the French?

  • @laikadatrikke I'm not really sure why they did it that way, considering Bibo Bergeron (the director) is French and went back to France to make this film. It's quite the mystery.

  • @Smallsthehero because part of puppetry is lip syncing it makes the characters convincing. Bad lip syncing can be ignored if the actors are real people. But if there a computer generated image it would be easy and the right choice to lip sync it into the language its dubbed in. That way people can find it easier to connect with the characters.

  • @laikadatrikke I would imagin its because french movies aren't very popular...

  • @laikadatrikke what about the fact that english has a much bigger market

  • @laikadatrikke its probably cause they reworked the animations for the mouths for the US release of this film

  • I'm really happy that a french animation movie is liked by other people than french people !

English voices(same for the girl) is good too !!

  • I love this song better than any other song

  • the boy sings better in french and the girl sings well in english they should have an english girl and a french boy!

  • when she sings in english at first it was really hard to understand and then she sounds like really high pitch like a american 2 year old but i like it! probabley french one is better though.

ps. is that meant to be a boy and a girl cos the boy is so high pitch

  • amazing song

  • English or French that is good music

  • OH PLEASE COME OUT ON DVD SOON I LOVE U A MONSTER IN PARIS!!!!!!!!

  • @TheMissCoolGirl96 u dont need the dvd i no where to watch the movie in a pretty good quality

  • such a beautiful song!

  • wow someone help me i cant stop lisining to it i really really LOVE IT

  • lol whats wrong with me a keep replaying it and replaying it over and over again oh wait i know why coz I LOVE IT SOOOOO MUCH :D

  • I LOVE A MONSTER IN PARIS I WHENT TO SEE IT AND OMG IT WAS AMAZING I DONT THINK I WILL EVER LOVE ANOTHER MOVIE AGAIN COZ A MONSTER IN PARIS IS THE BEST EVER :)

  • It's a vocal for a childrens animation! My son doesn't care who's singing it Sean Lennon or Mathieu Chedid, or if it's in English or French, he just likes to dance around to it!

  • foes any body know where i can find the movie online? QAQ i can't find any

  • sean lennon sounds better here than in his own songs! also sounds quite a bit like -M- weird tho -m- can sing in english cant he ? he did for belleville rendevous? thought he woulda done it himself

  • @MatthiusMonkey He can sing English, but I think he has more trouble with it than Vanessa does. You'll notice how a lot of his words in Belleville Rendezvous are kind of difficult to understand. I guess they just wanted someone who can sing flawlessly in English.

  • love this song !

  • This was released in UK with an english version?!....I shall sit here consumed with envy for the rest of the evening.. >l=\

  • i watched the film on saturday, and it sounds exactally like this, but lower :D

  • In fact, even if the Francoeur voice lack a little in this version, it's still pretty good... ;) :)

  • I REALLY LIKE IT THATS BECAUSE I COULDENT STOP PRESSINGING THE LIKE BUTTON

  • ...i prefer +M+ 's voice more..lol

  • i kinda prefer the english one because i can sing along and it sounds sweeter XD

  • To be honest, I feel the English version has a bit of rock in it, haha

For example... the melodic effect difference going on here, like in 0:34 and 1:10.

    Love it though~!

I want to watch the whole movie SO BAD.

  • Oh for fuck's sake, I only just got Man or Muppet out of my head, now for La Seine :D

  • I really like both versions.

  • wow AWESOME

  • i love this song but i much prefer Francoeur to frank

  • I actually like the english version of Francoeur :P

  • I love this so much! The movie was so good and this song is stuck in my head 24/7 XD

  • This is an amazing movie no matter what language! I love this song so much XD

Groznom i problematičnom.

    Ja

    Zlata

  • @Klodlaka Dobroti. Bila je pogreška.

  • Why did they change the key?

  • @Philigan87 Who did it?

  • LOL really they sound very diffrent XD

  • lol THE ENG VERSON IS BETTER WITH THE GIRL AND THE FRENCH VERSION IS BETTER WITH THE GUY SO ENG GIRL ANF FRENCH GUY WOULD BE PERFECT <3

  • @navajoalltheway The English and French girl are the same person XD

  • @Smallsthehero you got the comment...the youtuber meant vanessa paradis for english version, and if it were possible, frenchman matthew chedid for english, if he could.

  • @Smallsthehero *comment wrong

  • Its Vanessa and Sean Lennon singing if I'm not wrong?

  • @netja Yep, it's them!

  • Okay I'm going to be immature. Press 7 for nothing but a fart.

  • Prefer M from Sean Lennon. 100%

  • Saw the film yesterday at the cinema... What an outstanding piece of work, loved it from beginning to end.

    Charming, endearing and beautiful!

  • I'm surprised with the English version of this song. I rather liked it. It does work because the characters mouths are clearly synched to English dialogue. I still like the French version, but the English version is really good.

  • I saw the english version of the movie and i loved it but i dont like the french version because i dont understand it. Both are beautiful though

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not sure what I love more. The song, or the fact that taking my children to see the film today inspired me to find the French, English, and live versions of this.

    Electrifying stuff! I love it!

  • i love this song...but how can 4 people dont like it... is there somethin wrong with them...^_^

  • french and english both great...beautiful voice and music

  • i've watched the movie just yesterday and i become so inlove with frauncoeur's voice_ so i came here..very nice sean <3

  • yay i saw thw film today and i really liked it!

  • What movie is this?

  • @sawa139 monster in paris It is really good!

  • Saw the film yesterday. I didn't think it was very good. BUT, this sequence was really really well done. I had a smile on my face from beginning to end, the audience were really getting into it and when the audience on screen applauded it at the end, I really wanted to.

  • That song makes me want to see the film even more... Man I love that song

  • i love both version but i would have to go with the english simpley because i like to know whats being said. appart from that they're both amazing.

  • dislikes? o.O

....I don't know what to say

  • best part 1:40 <3

  • beautiful movie with a beautiful songs ='o <3

    (Y)

I hear the moon singing a tune ~

<< i just loved this part

  • I like the English version better, I think Sean's got a very lovely and different sounding voice that goes well with Vanessa's.

  • Megaanimelover94 you are weird as heck

  • Wow this is just a dub? Sounds just like vannessa

  • @Pianobaby1000 It is Vanessa. She dubbed Lucille in the English version too :)

  • is the high pitch voce the fly if it is itssssss welll gooooodddd <3 <3 :)

  • i just wish i could give Francoeur a big hug!! he's huge so he might squeeze you to death but i wouldnt care I'd just be happy to hug him for god sakes! <3 <3 <3

  • I like the french version better. loud and clear :D

  • I think I just raped the replay button...

  • -M- sounds better I think, this version makes Francoeur sound like a bug because of a quality in his voice, whereas -M-'s voice is just sexy ;-)

  • Franc is a flea and this movie has made me fall in love with paris!!

  • @MegaAnimelover98 cool i really want to see this film looks really good

  • what is the monster a giant grasshopper or something but looking forward to this looks like a good film

  • I LOVE BOTH!!

  • I love France! I've just begun this huge love for France ever since Ratatouille! Can't wait for this :)

  • it really could be alot worse. This is actually a very well recorded dubb compared to alot of others i've heard so me likey. :3

  • @clueless1redwolf It wasn't recorded, this is the actual dub.

  • @Smallsthehero FFFFF still not bad. o3o I kinda like it. obviously the original is better (it makes better sense in the original language anyway >D) but not bad sounding here at all. :3 now i can hum along with it and actually get wut they're saying >DDD (dur hur)

  • gotta give the dubbers credit for trying to make is as close to the original as possible

  • Sadly I'm not liking the high pitchedness of Francoeur but I LOVE HIM in french. I hope he doesn't sound all nasaly like a stereotypical bug in the movie D:

  • @RabidCubes Yeah, sorry about the pitch change, but Youtube won't let me post without it >.< And I heard Francoeur sounds very adorable in the film from those who've seen it :3

  • @Smallsthehero I know you adjusted the pitch, I read, it's okay, you're the only one I can find with an english version that isn't fandub > n < So I downloaded it and put it in the right key :P but I won't upload it to youtube o u o

  • @Smallsthehero thanks for uploading it :) it's great

  • @Smallsthehero oh lol I thought it sounded a bit awkward, thanks for posting this xD though I don't like the fact: in the English version Francoeur's name is Frank

  • @Milkpiece In the English version Francoeur is called Francoeur :P

  • @treehousehippies I saw the English trailer and they said Frank. I guess they changed it.

  • @Milkpiece He's still Francoeur in English, they just shorten it to Frank in the movie. At least, that's what I've been hearing from those who have seen it.

  • I think its funny how you guys are saying that the french is better. I can see your point as I tend to stick with originals but.. technically the film was meant to be in english. You can notice that when they talk the mouth flaps are english not french. It was just released in France first.

Personally I really like both versions and I can't wait to see the movie completely :)

  • @StarfireClaudia Sometimes that happens. I prefer the french version of 'Be Our Guest' to the English.

  • @StarfireClaudia No, this is not exactly correct ... French movies are doubled in the first in English, UMAP is not only one to have been doubled in the first English ...

A Monster in Paris is French and not English.

  • I am still wondering why you adjusted the pitch? Just curious :D

  • @Mtyugi The song is under copyright laws so Youtube blocks it whenever I post it, but if you adjust the pitch level it will still say the song rights belong to so and so, but it allows it to be posted :)

  • @Smallsthehero LOL haha!!! NICE!!! :P Thanks! Now I know!!

  • His English voice >:U

  • So glad Vanessa is in both versions!

  • I for one, like the English better. There is more distinction between the two voices, so you can actually tell who is singing what part. The voices do not dissapear into each other.

  • Happy New Year A monster In Paris!! come to the U.S soon!!!

  • In my opinion, Sean Lennon singing in such high voice doesn't sound as good as when Matthieu does. But I'm totally in love with their duet "L'eclipse", I really recommend that one to all of you! Youtube it!

  • @zacula Watched it and LOOVED IT!!! :D ;P

  • Oh Sean.. you're fucking cute ♥

  • A friend and I have come to relate these two to a couple in an anime and I choked when I heard this! Francoeur's dubbed voice sounds so much like the guy of the couple we compare them to! Oh, now there's nothing to stop us from the visual. XD

  • Though listening to it again, one other reason I might prefer the french version is because it's easier to differentiate M from Vanessa, unlike Sean. I dunno why, but Sean and Vanessa sound a lot alike in this song, and it was hard for me to tell who was who.

    That's really my only qualm.

  • While I think I prefer the original French version, it's only by an extremely slight margin. Both versions hold up very well and are extremely enjoyable to watch and listen to. Sean Lennon does very well against -M-'s performance and fits just as well with Vanessa Paradis.

The only real reason the french version won is because I tend to prefer songs in their original languages.

Can't wait for the movie to come to the states.

  • beautiful. <3

  • what does seine mean?

  • @sandkookies it's a big river that goes through Paris

  • @sandkookies

The Seine is a big river in Paris

  • It does not matter what anyone else says this is perfect thank you. =]

And all you other people who say the French version is better stop it Bcuz ur spoiling this passionate Tale of an Angel and a Monster. =[

  • damn. i can't decide whether i like the french or english version better. i think i probably prefer the french, since m is so awesome.... but i really love sean lennon... AWW HELL, I'LL JUST TAKE BOTH VERSIONS!!! MWA HA HA!!!

  • does anyone know where i can buy the french soundtrack, it's not available on itunes? :/

  • thanks for posting this vid. i loved the french version even though i had no idea what they were signing about. can't wait for it to be released in the U.S.! :)

  • you know, in the lyrics its atually "i feel a light when im beside the seine" not alive. i thought it was alive too but its not because someone else brought to my attention and if u listen closer u can hear it. :D

  • ENGLISH BEATS FRENCH!!! Besides, Francoeur sounds sexier in english ;D
