It wasn't a concert, it was a live show/presentation regarding technology I recall so the audience weren't necessarily about this. Plus, you have to objectively admit that this wasn't Janelle's best performance.

@mark19916 They are! This was on PRI (public radio intl.) yesterday on the radio. I heard it and after the performance the announcer said that there was too much moves for the radio to hold or something like that. Once I heard it, I had to see it on video. I listen to different stuff and I'm younger. But most of the crowd is older and usually go for Prarie Home Companion stuff. They'd get more excited if ex-Fed boss Alan Greenspan talked about interest rates and signed his book for them! LOL!

@a1d2h I'm STILL rocking her CD. I've even went on Itunes to buy her previous Metrapolis CD. The musicianship is top-notch and the LYRICS, oh the lyrics; I feel them crawling on my skin, resonating into my very being. I actually felt tears building up on a couple of tracks lol. But yeah, I remembered seeing the "Many Moons" video, but I didn't pay much attention to her; thinking the same thing you did. Is it selfish of me not to want her to be mainstream?

I love her performances! I think people like Lady Gaga go over the top with theatrics and have entered into the realm of creepiness, but Janelle Monae has managed to show the same type of creativity minus the creepy factor. I hope more people catch on to her work ASAP because she is good.
