  • that's not germany...it's bavaria ^^

  • its is dance? O-o

  • wow looks like i want 2 dance like that

  • Could be italian (south tyrol) also...

  • @StrictlyBG yeah kinda a mix of the dance italian music and german folk dance (:

  • I ger dizzy just looking at the women!

  • No wonder they started 2 World Wars! They needed to get some of their Ja Ja's out!

  • @RasMajnouni WE started nothing, dumbass.

To start a war are always at least 2 necessary. And in both wars had at least 5 countries 'blame' ;) oh and you don't want to talk about Israel and what this country has done for mistakes, or want you?

  • @Vaney0 If I didn't want to open our country to mistakes or critiszm I would not have commented. As you say,2 sides in a war.About modern Germany since the 1950's with Adnauer Israel has tthe highest respect for its moral issues & economic greatness.

  • @RasMajnouni

Your country were already involved in wars too.

In addition, each country has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Where would you be now without our scientists, physicians and physicists?

Where would you be now without Albert Einstein?

You would be nothing. So stop maligning by one of the most important countries in our history.

What a pity that people like you weren't put into the gas chamber ;)

  • I'm pretty sure this is actually an austrian dance, not a german one... people keep confusing them pretty often :P

  • @blutfrosch true

  • @blutfrosch Bavarian and Austrian culture (and the local dialects of German) are very similar, and Schuhplattler is traditional to both of them. It's certainly not North German, though.

  • @MrSiempreBailando true, true

  • I want the big feathers ! <3 and for all the assholes that think just because you're German you're a Nazi go die in a hole full of shit mother fuckers

  • ^^ you are very silly. the traditonal german folk dance was inveted to impress women and it has nothing in commen with army .... learn history...

  • Beautifully done! I am PA Dutch.

  • :)

  • Mesmerizing

  • Niemcy są jednak dziwni / It is awesome

  • Omg base God

  • German Dancing is very Regional, not all are Miltaristic. But you will fing lots of stamping and Clapping in most.

  • It is a nice Dance but it is Militaristic. Stamping and Slapping with a few Polkas. Much Much Different than the Polish and Ukrainian and Other Slavics.

  • thank you soo much for posting, you see so many amatuers dancing. It's so good to see a competition...great tight dancing...sure it's a litttle on the slowish side...bit when your'e competiting,It's all judged...every step, spin and slap...thanks

  • Makes me think of mechanical puppets. Probably on purpose though. Very cute to watch.

  • Whoa, I would think the women would fall over from spinning!

  • @manbearpig340 Lol, I do german dancing and it involves spinning a lot, I do get dizzy but its pretty stable.

  • hahahahahahaha!!!!!! If You want to see REAL FOLK DANCE (from Poland) you must write or copy this: " Tańce Przeworskie w wykonaniu Zespołu Słowianki " ......... on you tube:) ....poor Germany...... Im so sorry!!! hahahahaha!!!

  • its not german , its bavarian ; )

    Königreich Bayern...

  • Nix Königreich, Freistaat Bayern! ;)

  • how awful is this..

  • Wow the women do not feel sick, very nicely the dance one, regards from Mexico.

    Viva Alemania-Viva México

  • The Nazi is Hitler not Germans

  • The women here seem to be a bit slower than other's I've seen, but all in all its really nice and i think its acceptable for non-Germans :) Good job!

  • Is that Tom and Jerry yelling at different pitches for the first minute? lol

  • @chrisazarian hahaha you funny

  • it's only a german dance video, so why starting arguing about nazis? i'm confused..

  • i never saw someone dance like this in the north-west of germany, lol

  • I'm from the northgermany and that kind of stuff is absolutly strange for me..

  • How could you convince a whole group of women that this is how they should dance? That is amazing mind control. I love it. Where can I get a time machine?

  • The is not German state dance. Its is a seperate country damce from Bayern.

  • @thedisbatcher .... -_- No..It is a seperate country. it is a Germanic state (same language)

  • @BritaniaANDPrussia i know its TECHNICALLY a different country on the map, but the culture and people are ethnic GERMANS. Under the third reich austria and Germany were one

  • @thedisbatcher only Because AUSTRIA WAS FORCED

  • @blueray1969 lol no they were cheering Hitler. He made a vote in Austria if they supported Hitler and over 99% said yes.

  • @thedisbatcher did they have to vote? or are you saying it was 99% of those that actually voted?

  • @blueray1969 almost everyone voted

  • @thedisbatcher so they wanted the crimes committed and the consequences of defeat?

  • @blueray1969 they wanted to join their fatherland, they wanted the fuhrer to lead them. there were no crimes committed.

  • @thedisbatcher lol - crimes were committed in Austria by Austrian Nazis...before Anschluss even happened. You clearly don't read history.

  • @blueray1969 maybe a few nazis committed crimes but that dosnt mean ALL nazis commit crimes, the vast majority of nazis were law abiding citizens.

  • Those women are blessed, I tried though in german class.

  • i like this...

why didn't the girls get dizzy?

    nyahaha

  • @AiEnma26 I do German folk dancing sorta like this, we don't get dizzy cause we either A: look at out partner the entire time, or B: we do something called "spotting" where we find something in the room, and look at only that, while we spin we turn our heads to continue looking at it. That and you get used to it after a while.. lol

  • why is someone screaming in the back "YAAAHOOOO!"?? lol

  • @thedisbatcher yup. lol it's called a yolks (I think that's how you spell it?) my dance teacher explains it like this: You know how when people do karate, they scream "hiya!"? It's bcause it gives them some more energy. That's why we yolks, it gives some energy (that you so badly need while performing)

  • cool music 2

  • wow its a cool dance iwish i could dance

  • any1 kno where i can find a pic of the costumes?

  • my school is doing an international dance n my class got chosen to do this :'( gonna puke form dizziness but at least not as embarrassing 2 be boys

  • german yodeling = heavy folk metal

  • I grew up being German and Irish. this made me so happy as this is what I used to go to. I love it as this is the best one yet! where was this taken? Great group!!!!!

  • i am german and i never head seen this dance style before omg

  • @mabelmann11 haha me²dis shit sux XD

  • @mabelmann11 You have to be austro-bavarian, the carrier of real german culture ;-)

  • @mabelmann11 It's the Schuhplattler (Shoe Slapping). I lived in Germany in Bavaria for almost a year and saw it many times. Even tried it and made a fool of myself. It's usually done by men only.

  • @MeVinson37 ok ^^ but its an bevaria dance ^^ and for the most germans they not life ther bavaria is not germany they are more austians than germans ^^

  • @mabelmann11 i believe it originated in Bavaria

  • what province? the announcer was speaking in english. this was definitely in america.

  • what province. why was the announcer speaking in english. this must be american.

  • @crusinchub

Most likely central Texas. There's a large German community there that's very into German folk culture.

  • Very nice dance. Which province is it from?

  • @Henry25220 Bavaria, I think

  • @HeyItsFritz That's right, this kind of folklore dance is exclusively performed in Bavaria!

  • @SuperMrPresident depends on what you term "exclusively". I watched this and thought "no way this is a "German" dance as in the region of today's Germany.. what the guys are doing ("shoeclapping"/Schuhplattler) is performed as a folk dance in Austria. To be honest not as simply though, it looks super difficult. and what the girls do is normally livelier too! Bavaria and Austria are similar in culture, though, much more similar than Bavaria and the rest of Germany so that could be...

  • jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hu hu :-)

  • i do this and it is not bad you just get use to it

  • I would be dizzy as shit it I tried doing that much twirling like the girls are.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome dance viva Germany......

  • If god were to have sex with a bottle of pepsi and have a kid, this would be that kid

  • I don´t like this

  • this is PURE AWSEOME !!!

  • Joinha se o twitter do Guilherme Briggs te levou até aqui

  • O Briggs me trouxe aqui!

  • For all the experts out there. Bavaria is part of Germany like Texas is part of the US. Schuhplattler is traditional Austrian and Bavarian folk dancing. It is done to celebrate the different seasons and harvests of the year. Some of the dances are courtship dances. There are over 50 dances that I know of if not more. I should know I danced most of them when I was between the age of 12 and 35.

  • those poor dizzy girls.

although this is really cool. :)

  • nice greetz from holland

  • Do you know what the name of the actual music piece is called?

  • warum denkt alle welt wir sind alle bayern? scheisse, scheisse!

  • Lol I'm proud to be part German haha

  • im german and i hate this shitty dance and this crap music

  • Reminds me of an all-body "Riverdance." Do I like this because my parents are Irish and Bavarian?

  • Hungarians and Czechs are better.

  • Ich liebe deutsche folk song

aber dass machen mittlerweile eh nur noch ganz wenige, ich kenn garkeinen der das macht

  • this is bamboo dance

  • @Trippinalice You ARE WRONG HEHEHE

  • What kind of German dance is this? It is a "Schuhplattler". Where the men act all macho and machismo, while the ladies spin around and let the men do their thing. Surely America, with all the Latinos should understand the macho, machismo BS. Sometimes in these folk dances it is a make-believe fight. When they slap hands or kick at each other, it is a mock fight.

  • i'm dizzy just watching these chicks spin o.0

  • @onurr1 screw off. Retarded troll.

  • @satanicpanda46 right man! germans are not like these old years... they cant understand that nazi today are only the politicians and not the people...

someone tell my... why these people are shouting? and were is the difference betwen german and bavarian dances? olso whats that music organ? its name!

  • AHAHAHAHA

  • what kind a german dance is this?

  • Okay I'm German and all but not traditional like these guys. Overall I love discovering different cultures and I'm fascinated with the roots and origing of languages of one part and cultural dances from another. BUT as I have traveled the web, I've seen many similarities between German, Romanian, Hungarian, and Italian traditional dances as well as the exclusive dance and dresses of Sicily itself. This might be general knowledge, but were all these countries united once long time ago?

  • @Willshires ..."see also 'Holy Roman Empire'..."

seriously...even wikipedia can tell you about that

  • they sure are the superior race

  • I am amazed that the women don't lose their balance after going around in circles so much! Thanks for the video. I loved watching it.

  • @Trippinalice Ahahahahahah!

  • So much entertaining .... -__________-

  • Wow, I can't believe how many views and comments this post has:). Thanks to everyone who helped answers questions about this video since I am only the "techie" who posted it for a friend. I just re-watched it with my kids and they loved the yodel/scream, hehe.

  • @zandarc whats that screaming

  • Well, well, Bavarian dance would be more precise. Anyway...

The type of dance is "Schuhplattler", and the title of this particular song is "Haushammer Schuhplattler".

    Greets from Munich

  • Now in half time.....hehe

  • I think it is really funny that they don't fall when they do the tapin on their feet and knees and gosh knows where else....o boy....

  • it takes a real man to polka!

  • Does anyone know the title to this song? I went to my first Trachtenball last night and the had the Alpen Schuhplattler from Pittsburg and they danced this one and I would love to know which one this is.

  • funny dance)))))))))

  • That was very impressive! Wish I could do such an intricate dance

  • what is this dance called?

  • @camden479 idiot

  • @camden479

hey you in grateful american learn to spell go die of aids unless of course your a /b/ro

  • @ft987654321 an american speeks for nazis??? when america is killing whole asia only for oil? better someone kill camden479!

  • @camden479 Just because they ae German? does that make me a nazi? because i'm German. YOU ARE A SILLY MAN, I LAUGH AT YOU

  • My mother's family danced like this and my father's family did not - but they were from different parts of Germany and it does not matter to me at all. I enjoy all German dancing. Thank you for posting this video.

  • "German" dance ? It´s an old traditional dance in Bavaria. And this country is only one from 16 (!) "Länder" of Germany. So this dance ist defenitely NOT typical for our country, even if tourists believe in that.

  • @jaxdaka It is typical for Austria overall, though. I wonder why Bavaria chose Germany and not Austria ;)

  • @dinavienna

    Biggest mistake in our history;)

  • @PepperPriby LOL!

  • @dinavienna Austria IS Germany

  • It`s a Bavarian Schuhplattler. A very manly kind of dancing

  • wow i'm part german and this is the first time i've seen their kind of dance lol.....awesome :)

  • @hanal101 I'm german, and I've never seen it either... at least not as shown in this video

  • fuck its not german dance! its only inBAYERN this clowns hahaa

  • @KoksNase1987 What's wrong with Bayern? Don't knock things you have not tried. Search Schuplattler, Gaufest 2009, or Holzhacker Buam Toledo

  • Ausgezeichnet!!...Deutsches tanzen.

  • not typical german; it's typical bavaria

  • hi there, I love german dances...its very traditional and cultural..but im not german... can any german enlighten me with my question? it seems that mostly during a german dance somebody is likely to do an introductory laugh/scream/yell like GOOFY... YEEEEEEHOOO.... YEEEE HU HU HU HU . .. why is it like that, does somebody have to do it to show appreciation? the screaming makes me laugh..... thanks very much...

  • @dewalwalers

the sound has no special meaning. I'd say that it'scomparable to the typical spanish/mexican sound of AYAYAYYY...it's not that we do it in many different occasions, the dancers probably do it because of happiness, good mood and so on...

  • yodeling in rural parts of Austria (and probably Bavaria, maybe Switzerland also) could have many meanings. In older times it was a way of communication for people living uphill with people living in the valley. It could be a way of communicating between boys and girls (my grandma told about this - groups of guys would do this cry and then girls would answer from a distance). at festivities it's used to bring up some mood (like most folk cries). It can be sad in folk songs about loss, too

  • love this video, going to Local Oktoberfest this weekend- dressing up myself. "wunderbar"

  • 0:37 XD XD XD XD

  • The girls have to be dizzy by now.

  • I'm german and i hate this dance (;

I think that isn't typical german.. its typical bavarian

  • satanic ritual?

  • @LauraAbrami Finde es auch ziemlich peinlich,daß im Ausland so etwas als "typisch Deutsch" angesehen wird.Sauerkraut,Bratwurst,Lederhosen und natürlich Bier.Kann man die Bayern nicht irgendwie rausschmeissen ? Die Österreicher könnten ein weiteres Bundesland doch bestimmt gut gebrauchen. (-;

  • @jaxdaka

ja die schluchtenscheißer können darüber ^^

  • yelling is traditional...we have somethink similar in polish dances...and hey, its great, fun and joyful!:) I love males dance, so happy....look familiar to me:)) greetings from Poland:)

  • Dammit! I love the Deutchelanders! Good people, great food, wonderful beer and PROUD of their heritage. But...like ouihotpot says.Who is the f****n yeller?
