OMG I love this. So much better than the Houston version (which I love and brought me here). I just read up on the story behind the lyrics. Adds ten billion more dimensions to this story.
Jane's version of The Greatest Love of All was released in 1980 on her The Best Side of Goodbye CD. It was after George Benson's version but before Whitney Houston's. Jane's version was produced by the man who co-wrote the song, so this may be the version that the songwiter originally had in mind...
Truly beautiful song! However, George Benson and Whitney Houston's versions are both equally beautiful in their own right. Of them all Whitney's version certainly has the most range but Jane's original version is at least equally beautiful. Please post the year this was recorded!
Amazing, mesmerizing voice. Got to know her music in the late 1970's. So glad to have grown through her music. Jane, if you are reading this.... thank you. You made/make a difference.
Jane is THE best. She makes you feel the song. One of the ten best vocalists I have ever heard and I am older than dirt.
