  • that was PHAT! I am doing the same drive in a couple of weeks! I can't wait! Great work!

  • @DLaraNYC It's an awesome drive have fun.

  • Brb, F-Zero.

  • @siourawr Zoom zoom.

  • awesome video man, its almost like it puts you in your own tranz.

  • @BIODOME1000 Thanks Glad you liked it.

  • Great Idea and very nicely done. Is it possible to have an inset of the maps view and track the location as the street view traverses ? This is just so that one can actually go to a street view spot (taking hint from the video) and take a 360 view.

  • @psunthar Glad you liked it. Yeah you can do that, when you are in streetview mode, there is a little box in the bottom right corner that can be expanded to fill half the screen. This works in google maps, not sure if it works in the Google Earth program.

  • Very well-edited. Nicely done.

  • @89catperson Thanks glad you liked it.

  • Do you know of an open source batch script to grab each streetview image from A to B?

  • @grahammj I'm sorry I don't know any batch script like that, I did mine manually.

  • @grahammj That would've been very cool. Do you know of any commercial software that can do it?

  • @ossidrammen Windows Live Movie Maker, thats how i made mine. Check out my videos.... My channel is BIODOME1000

  • That was beautiful. I never got to go down south and take the route but NOW I HAVE!!!!

  • @princeword Thanks Martin, glad you liked it.

  • man has worked so much... that road is infinite

  • @gbmov The road is such a great drive.

  • If my calculations are correct this would be like traveling at the speed of 833 km/h. Except without fear of hitting something or crashing. Nice vid! :)

  • @rozaa5252 Yeah that would be the speed overall. The slow speed is around 600 km/h and the high speed is around 1200 km / h. You get to drive down the great ocean road at high speed with out crashing.

  • lol that car sure has some good mpg's

  • @SickBroProductions Yeah very good mpg's

  • @Arthur40TwoDent lol im jk dawg

  • @SickBroProductions So was I.

  • That was most awesome!

  • @Gevedon Thanks for the awsome comment.

  • This is incredible, thank you to the people who made this video happen. World's best drive captured and presented brilliantly!!!

  • @BlueNightStalker Thanks and thanks to the people who built the road.

  • I like! :D

  • @Budgiekens Thanks Carol

  • amazing times the views by a 1000 and it still won't have as many as it deserves.

  • @shy0dusk Thanks ShyDusk and thanks for Faving the video.

  • Oh f.... driving so fast on the left side scares me. ;-) Good work!

    Greatings from germany, Uli

  • @UliWW Thanks, you it would look weird if you are used to driving on the right side.

    Hello from Australia, Nick

  • Great video Nick, good to see you at the Shuffle.

  • @RobotManGreg Thanks Greg, and cool to see you there too.

  • This is so cool - I love watching this trip ... I most certainly have to fav this one

  • @Jordmate Thanks for the favorite Richard. It's a cool trip.

  • This is awesome, really great work, just like the Race You There guys. Kudos to both of you guys. One question for you, did you use Google Earth Pro or did screen capture on google maps?

  • @elkirkmo Thanks for the Kudos, "Race You There" videos is also awesome. The video was done in Google Maps using a screen capture program.

  • Traveled that road so many times...Used to body surf at Fairhaven in my teens, now fish at Moggs Creek just down the road..take care and thanks

  • @allaussiedownunder Growing up I used to boogy board surf Torquay and Jun Jac and occasionally Point RoadKnight. A great bit of coast.

  • Many thanks..

  • Nick, this video is so great. I noticed you passed my caravan. Beautiful part of the world, excellent presentation - what a great beach at the end. I wil have to show the guys in the US.

  • @Jordmate I'm glad you like it Richard, and thanks for sharing it. I was originally going to stop at Apollo Bay, but couldn't find a good beach shot in Street View, but I did find one furthur on down the coast in Marengo. Other things to keep an eye out for, there is a couple Aus Post boxes, a couple of public phone boxs and an ambulance.

  • beautifull stop motion there. and well chosen music :-) too bad i couldn't rate more than 5 stars. i really love it!

    Ronald

  • @wildcatphotography I'm glad you love it. Thanks Roland for the 5* and favorite. As soon as I heard the track I knew it would work well with the video.

  • Wow. What a wicked video! So pretty!!!

  • @sexygeeky Thanks for the Wow Laureen, glad you liked it.

  • That is awesome!

  • @kennykalinowski Thanks I'm glad you found it to be awesome.

  • Fantastic job Nick!!

    Love the track too :)

  • @EvilBproductions Thanks Steve, yeah while I working the video I listen to this mix set, and when ever heard this song, I thought it would go great with the video.

  • I just have to say again how much I like what you did here. I'm sharing the link with my friends and I'm going to post it to Twitter and Facebook. You did an awesome job with this.

  • @melstan12 Thanks, and thanks for sharing the video.

  • All done with Google Maps images... amazing.

Now wonder you were saying on Twitter that this took you a long time to construct.

    Way to go, Nick!

  • @OhCurt Thanks Curt, I really apreciate you comment. Yeah it took me a couple of months to do, but the result is so worth it.

  • @Arthur40TwoDent I'll say it was. BTW, I have a slow connection this morning so I couldn't watch in HD, but even in just the slightly lesser resolution this turned out crisp and stunning.

Not to overdo it on the compliment. Just giving credit where credit is due.

You have good reason to be proud of this.

  • @OhCurt Cool, good to know it works in lower quality.

  • your best work mate! truly fucking epic!!!

  • @VortexProducer Why thank you very much my good sir. I apreciate you comment Kipp.

  • Woo hoo! Instant favorite! Wow, that's the longest distance I've ever virtually driven without stop lights or speed limits :)

  • @JudeMaris Thanks Mel, for the favorite, and the feed back and ecouragement.

I really love the result. Speed limts, yeah at the start it's running at 30 fps and you travling at 1200 k/h or 745 m/h and in the twisty section 15fps or 600 k/h or 373 m/h.

  • Awesome job, music everything. Love it.

  • @melstan12 Thank you. Yeah I was listening to the song while working on the video and thought it would be great.

  • where was the camera mounted..

  • @TrueBlueAustralian I belive Google Maps Street View mount their cameras on the roof of the cars.

  • That's awesome! Did you save each image one at a time or did you make a macro?

  • @1KBMUnlimited Thanks, I used a program called Gadwin PrintScreen, I hit a combo of keys and the program saved the image to folder and numbered them one after another. I moved from postion to postion and then shifted the camera left or right so the road was in the middle and then hit the combo of buttons and the image was saved to the folder.

  • Wow! I knew this would be worth waiting for in my subscription box. Truly amazing.

Also, thank you for the thank you! :)

  • @xToadlordx Thanks Ryan, I'm glad you like it. It was a bit of work but so worth it.

I apricate you encouragement in the comments and tweets.

  • Nice work Nick, and a coll track too

  • @littleweirdguy Thanks Terry, yeah I heard the track while working on the video and thought it would work well with the video.

  • WOW great vid! I bet it was a lot of work!

  • @montaramike Thanks Mike, yeah it was a bit of work, but so worth it.

  • So amazing Nick, well done! I'm heading back there next month, & now I can't wait!!!

A massive favourite & five huge stars!

  • @bundybearable Thanks Emma for the 5* and fav.

Cool how far down the coast are you heading?

  • @Arthur40TwoDent Going to go through Apollo bay & up through Port Campbell, then head straight through to Warrnambool (stay with family) & Port Fairy & head back home through Camperdown (have family there too). Looking forward to it.

  • @bundybearable Cool, it's been a few years since I've been down Apollo bay.

  • Effing brilliant Nick!

I would have done it a little bit differently myself, but seriously. love it.

  • @rukusan Thanks Luke, Yeah now that I look at it there is one little thing I would do differently, but it's done now and I'm happy with it.
