It may have been fast paced and it differed only very slightly from the original manga, but at least they finished the series. Because they didnt have to. So I'd rather enjoy a complicated season than an unfinished story.

It was romance-y, which I love and find epic, but tragically just a tad overdone. And character development, yes, but no PLOT development, really. Find jewel shard....fight Sesshoumaru, woo....now fight Naraku...more shard hunting with meaningless side characters who have little to no story to tell. Naraku does something inexplicably evil! Inuyasha reaches out and says: Kikyo, i thought we....and falls into everlasting slumber. Kikyo then dies and burns the Shikon jewel with her. remembering dat is so sad.

Man i have such heart breaking pity and sorrow for Kikyo. To be honest i hated her the first time i watched the anime, but man the second time through and reading the manga, it changes your take on her. It really breaks your heart, but at the same time you can't help but hope that Kagome ends up with Inuyasha, because they fit each other like missing puzzle pieces. Very good, deveolped, anime!
