After training with the ASTs one day I went back to the bullpen with the pilots and they said, "did those guys autograph a copy of The Guardian for you?" jokingly, since they had 3-4 posters of the movie in the AST shop. The swimmers know they're awesome and this movie just helps the rest of us realize that too. Semper Paratus!

I served in both the Army and the Navy for a total of nine years and I have a lot of respect for the Coast Guard. Many Navy sailors call them "puddle pirates" but they are the saviors of the sea in my eyes. I am glad they got the recognition that they deserved in this film and I want to say thank you for all the lives you saved.

I stopped watching this on TV to watch a different movie on VHS and this is a great ending and I kinda saw it ending with Fischer saving Randall. When I was watching this I thought that Fischer would break Randall's last record from earlier in the movie.
