Now this video is the version of Don't Give Up that I like.......................the other version is just too................boring for me (although I would've LOVED to be Peter in that version............to hold Kate in my arms would be ecstasy).
I have been a fan of PG for so many decades now it is hard to believe. He seems to change so much and yet still finds a way to make me want to cry with his emotions that seem to echo things in my life. This video is one of them. Staying focused and not giving up is so hard. This song is wonderful. At around 2:20, there is a man in seeming to set the hands of a big clock or something. It reminds me of the movie Metropolis, where the workers use a big "clock." Coincidence?
I asked God to play a song for me yesterday because; of my lifes troubles and the next thing that happened was this song came on the radio. So, here I am playing this song. It is said the lord works in mysterious ways. I am a believer that he does!
I showed this song to my alcoholic friend who has been trying to kick the habit. It's been his theme song for his journey. I cry every time I listen to it.
This song is so deep. Peter Gabriel is not only standing on that bridge but also singing one of the best bridges ever around 3:20... Beautiful! Pure emotion! ♥
I always felt this song is about the terrible Miners' strike in Britain in 1984. Does anyone know if there is a connection, it certainly applies to those poor buggers who lost their whole way of life with the closure of the mines.
This should be a theme for the Millions of us that are unemployed, due to the incompetence, and idiotic decisions of CEOs,and others at the top of big corporations. They make mistakes, and those that are under them must pay.
This song was the first time I'd ever heard of Kate Bush (way back when). It prompted me to look at the "SO" album credits and I instantly became a big fan. Not taking anything away from Peter (one of the best ever), but I don't think this song would be the same without Kate's vocals.
Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush in perfect balance. Powerful and laconic. Hard and soft. Yin and yang. Today and tomorrow. There's always hope, don't give up.
I love this song, i remember listenig to it as my father was drunk in his bed and our family lived off nothing. I listened to this song and it gave me courage to raise above and fight which i accordingly did to find that there were still no jobs even though i went to uni!!! Thatchers's Britain where we had fuck all but now we've got Bushes world where we've got even less!!!Fight the NWO
I love this song too. I always moves me. Especially now as we are all suffering, a pay check away from? I spent alot of time this weekend watching films that are speaking to what's happening now. I just saw W., excellent, I really recommend it. I hope for change soon.
This is the song that my friend needs to hear. I'm just glad that Kate Bush has found the words that I can let my friend hear, to help him in his darkest hour.

This has more emotion then Shannon Noll's version.
I reckon Stan Walker & Jessica Mauboy should sing this for charity.

I truly hope that "there's a place where "we" belong".
That voice of his. . . pure solace.
Thanks for the upload.

3:53 "For every job so many men; so many men no one needs." That's how I feel right now. It is soo hard to find a job out here.

Przepiękna piosenka. Uwielbiam słuchać takich starych kawałków, zwłaszcza jesiennym wieczorem. To chyba uzależnienie od stanu melancholii.

Painting the Bedroom cieling, and thought I was going to run out of the custom paint.
I seen where others have tried and ran out.
I see that if one pushes the brush harder into the cieling, that the paint spreads out
and no worries about running out of paint.
had to take a break, and remembered why this song inspires me into tears.
