  • lmao Lovely video. <3 Thank you for sharing.

  • OMFG i've never been able to find anything earlier than Transgression!

Mind you, this is just an earlier version of a song they play better later :(

  • better than the american band with the same name, check ot "morbid love" and "death of millions", killer songs,

  • these guys used to practice at my house in a little padded room...awesome!

  • Melbourne Thrash 'n' Death Festival (something like that) - it ran over the Easter weekend. I still have the shirt! Justin missed the gig as Acheron were bumped up to play earlier when a thrash band called Sanctum played a stunner the night before and the promoters wanted them to play just before Armoued Angel (Headliners). It was a top day.

Sanctum were amazing - wish someone had a video of them ...

  • this footage is definitely from the corner hotel. I was at this show. It was a festival of sorts with quite a few bands. Was in 1990 if i remember correctly.

  • 30.3.91

  • the 4 track promo tape (with Anal Biopsy) was from 1993, Craig was still their drummer at that stage. they changed their name to Abramelin at the end of 1993.

  • Yes this was the later Demo.

The prelude to what would be the 'Abremelin' Album.

'Eternal Suffering' was the first offering by the band. With the line up which only played live once.

  • oook then

  • Any one know if this is at The Corner Hotel, Sarah Sands or even the old Punters Club (note the huge frickin' beam right in front of the stage!)?

  • The corner

  • @incubism 30 May 1991 to be exact. There was no bass player. I have this on DVD as well as the Damnatory and Necrotomy sets from that gig.

  • Could this be the gig on 30 March 1991 where there was no bass player? If so, I was there. I have that gig on DVD somewhere. Another band who played that day was Damnatory. Not sure if this is the same gig.

  • This is the Australian Acheron, considered by most to be more superior to the American Acheron of the same era. ;-0

  • Yes...it is the Aussie Metal Band... I would like have their demo, where they feature "Penetrate The Hymen" Song... i think that song its the title track of the tape...

  • The demo was called `Eternal Suffering', I have it and have been meaning to digitise it.

  • I know the tape you're talking about. It was a promo tape from 1994 and it featured 4 songs (including 'Human Abbatoir' and an unreleased track called 'Anal Biopsy' as well). But yeah, 'Eternal Suffering' was the only official demo.

  • Different Acheron.

There was one with ex-members from Morbid Angel or something.

That's why the Australian Acheron changed there name to Abremelin

  • yes, that makes sense- I have an Abremelin cd of this aussie band- killerz

  • I thought for sure that Acheron was from, like, Iowa or something...

  • really good band

  • Do you remember who else played at this gig? I think it was a PBS benefit hosted by some radio DJ who called himself Don Dokken. I think he even had the 80's glam metal hair do to match.

  • I have to think back, but if this was the 3PBS gig, the other bands were Captain Trips, Taramis. There was a gig in the arvo and one in the evening.

I have the Captain Trips recorded in its entirety and have it now in digital format.

I was the bass player in Captain Trips.

I will soon upload some footage of Captain Trips.

Not sure, but Mass Confusion may also have been on the bill?? I'll ask Chris - drummer, who also played drums for Captain Trips.

  • Yeah I was a Bell Street Rocker. I saw Mass Confusion probably a dozen times. Captain Trips, I probably saw you there. I was the drunk guy. ;-)

  • Consider it updated. 1991. I just placed a guess.

I have some other tracks and will try and digitise them when I get a chance, seeing there seems to be some interest.

  • Is this that same Acheron from Florida from the tampa area?

  • Wow! This is really good quality, got any more of this gig????

Oh, I was at this gig and it was 1991 not 1989. Fond memories ;-)

  • Hail Der Wolfen!!!!!!!!!!!!
