Seems to be the standard minimum strain on the aircraft lomcevak technique we used in in the pitts s2b? We used to pull 60 degrees upline as speed started to decay we started a left roll went full right rudder and stick into the forward left corner-it would break over then tumble one and a half times or so usually ender up at tailslide break with no airspeed starting to spin usually-thats how Bill Thomas showed me the take it easy on the airplane technique.
This is considered a lomcevak, but a tumble "type" lomcevak, correct? Is the power back as you rotate to be gentler to the prop/engine/airframe, or is the Extra strong enough not to matter?
As I heard, a tumble is executed at fairly low speed and power setting to avoid damage to the aircraft from the rotational forces. What entry speed range is typical in the Extra?
Same way we used to teach the non crankshaft destructive lomcovak in the Pitts-only we used an upline of about 50 degrees ,roll left and opposite yaw then push to snap, which gave rapid deceleration and caused the tail to pass the nose in a tumble. I guess the tumble is a downward version. Great vid and tumble lesson here.
Is that really necessary? To "tumble" an airplane? Does that really swell your nuts and make you think you're invincible? Don't you know how STUPID that is, or how it looks? Could you waste your time, money, and gas in a worse way? What are you, some kind of adrenaline junky?
looks stupid to the uneducated i suppose, for people who are not content with the basic loop and rolls it is the greatest thing. turning an aeroplane into a brick for 10 lonnnng seconds or so. what is wrong with enjoying it? i love advanced aeros, go ask the same questions to a basejumper even a bloody skateboarder everyone gets their thrills doing their thing if its not yours then no need to knock it mate.
All of these videos explain so well
