  • So proud of your bravery, Norwood! I can't even begin to imagine the number of lives that you have probably saved because you had the courage to come forward and share the darkness of your past with the world.

  • I would still love you if you had today, that long silky hair you had in the 80's. You are still a beautiful, yes I said beautiful, young man inside and out. I always thought you have the prettiest baby eyes. Norwood, you been around a long time and you're going to be around a lot longer too. Love ya!

  • You are a great man God Bless you I love your music and you have accomplish.

  • God! How wonderful it would've been if Michael and he could've talked and if Norwood could share some of his insights and personal growth with Michael before he left this world. How candid and awfully generous of Norwood to talk on camera WHILE getting something done to his NOSE! Wow! I'm in awe!

  • God Bless you Norwood, you are finally living your truths and showing us and yourself how truly Beautiful you are. You are Divine and a child of God and no atrocities past, present or future can take that away from you EVER. You have survived the torcher, pain and abuse...your life starts now. From one survivor to another I LOVE YOU and I send you all of the Joy and Light that anyone could ever send out. Arch Angel Michael protect your heart always.....Peace, Love and Light to you.

  • God Bless You! I am so sorry about what you went through because in your natural state, pre-surgery, pre-abuse you were beautiful. The good thing is that you STILL are! And now you are a living testimony to others who've gone through similiar stories of abuse and self-doubt...you came through and you are STILL here, helping people. I love your voice and your story. Be Blessed!

  • So proud of you

  • Please know that you are loved by so many people you don't even know, who you will never meet, who has heard your beautiful voice and felt uplifted...Your journey hasn't been for naught. Love you.

  • I am proud of you Norwood...this is so powerful man.

  • I most admire you because you don't run from your issues....you deal with them. I am so glad i got a copy of your book because it is very encouraging to me. I hope others will go get a copy so they can see how to overcome adversity with your dignity still intact. It takes a real man to be able to tell the things you told in that book and reveal secrets like that. I walked in shame for most of my adult life not wanting nobody to know what happened to me. Not anymore....i got to tell my story too.

  • Norwood you are THE MAN no matter what haters say. You made me feel 10 feet tall when i read your book. I really admire your dad and was sitting there wishing i had a father like you did. Your dad gave you a good sense of who you are. My dad never had anytime for me and just like you i was told i could sing well as a kid. Your dad embraced your talent my dad didn't. After years of being molested i just became introverted and robbed myself of a singing career. I just didn't believe in myself.

  • My sister saw you in New Jersey and she got me a autographed copy of your book and i read it this weekend....and all i could do was sit there in shock. The samething that happened to you happened to me too in Newark by a trusted family friend. Just like you my brotha it started around 8 years old and i keep it secret for many years because of the deep shame. I am glad you wrote that book so it could set alot of blk guys free. The black community tends to want to keep it in the family.

  • @READY4REVELATION The black community? There yall go again. You think white people don't keep that stuff secret too. Chile, please.

  • Wow Wow Wow, I can't stop the tears, thank you for giving me hope Norwood. You are a blessing to so many of us, I being one. I have lived this story but I am still in fear of sharing or telling it, because of what others may say and those in my family that would not believe.. Thank God for you and your strength..

  • I am so sorry that you had to experience the abuse. You are an amazing person with a wonderful talent. With you getting back to yourself, you are on the way to recovery to the fullest.. Congratulations to you.. Stay blessed.

  • Hey Norwood no matter what you look like GOD loves you and so do many many others. Keep doing what YOU need to do for YOU!

  • Wow.....Powerful....keep seeking the LORD.....i would have never known...when i was a kid..we used to joke"like this negro think he look good"......we ALL have a past...and i pray u find complete HEALING in CHRIST...thank u

  • I am glad, relieved and have a restored confidence in this man after having seen this video. Thank you for posting it.

Without any reservation, I hope he is physically restored to his more normal and natural appearance, without detrimental failure or pain.

Sadly, the lessons of maintaining our well-being, are learned after having made serious mistakes.

    Congratulations to Norwood!

  • yeah, i'll do him

  • I'm happy for you. u look perfect to me.....

  • I'm in tears ... he's been through so much pain yet he bares his soul to share with us, his family, friends and fans, his real truth. God bless you Norwood. More power to you, brother.

  • I love this guy. i hope he finds fulfilment in life. Thanks for sharing and I shall be one of the first in line for his book!

  • This was moving. The first time I saw him was in some photos at a Sheryl Lee Ralph's annual concert and I was somewhat shocked by the image. People need to learn NOT to judge others, because no one knows the inner-man and the factors that push them to do certain things. I am happy to know that he could take a criticism and see its truth, no matter its harshness, AND took a journey on a painful path to get back to HIM! Norwood may God's grace be with you as you begin a new page in your life.

  • @Kumtekmeon ...wow I like your comment. Can everyone read it that I've seen write such crazy, cruel comment? We need to hold him up not put him down. Thanks for backing this guy up.

  • @jmusic45 I don't know about others, but I find it more comforting to LOVE than to hate, to BUILD UP than to tear down. Maybe it's because I am aware of MY imperfections. ''Who without sin cast the first stone.''

  • Very powerful!

  • He's Very Handsome:)

  • so refreshing to see you getting back to your normal face. you are embracing your culture at an appreciating level. michael jackson was gifted and talented yet, he did not like his physical appearance. i'm glad that you allowed God to intercede into your life convicting you to realize that you were beautiful as he made you. God is not finished with you yet. your gifts will continue to bring you to a level where many will be grateful for your performances.

  • Wow for the longest time I would see this guy all over the net & sometimes on tv and always wondered about him. I couldn't understand why a person would want to alter their appearance in such a way. I must say I admire his honesty in the reasons why he has done what he has. Oddly enough his openess has even softened my disappointment in what I felt towards Michael Jackson. Perhaps Michael's reasons are no tthe same but definitely similar. Stay strong Norwood. Much respect.

  • Btw, keep on keeping on...I wish you all the best..and truly hope your spirit soars above all your past pain!!!

  • Counseling would have better...it's what's inside tha't's tortured not the outside...

  • Raw,real, and gutsy. Keep healing and inspiring.

  • Wow, that is very courageous of you to be this open about what you went through and why you did what you did. Good luck to you.

  • I commend him for his courage. I am so glad I was able to view this.

    Welcome Back, Norwood..

    It looks so painful.

  • Wow.....I commend you Mr.Young on your self discovery.

I hope the journey you are embarking brings you peace and joy.

This is video has inspired me to take an honest look at myself on the inside so I can be happier with the outside.

It takes a lot to expose your inner demons to the world.

    Thank you.

  • Brother Norwood..May God continue healing you from the inside and help you embrace your past as you continue your outward journey to a more complete you! You're an awesome talent bro! Doesn't matter so much where you've been..that just better aids you in structuring where you're going..Keep your head up and stay lifted.

  • I commend you for your honesty, I wish you the best my friend.
