Thank you King Raymond Green, for persuading the only living member of this Great Singing Group, "Harold Winley", to come out of retirement and continue entertaining us with that great "Bass Voice"!
Singer/Songwriter/Producer, Richard "Pittsburgh Slim" Cobb of Indianapolis, IN.....
The Clovers were awesome. Everything they did was gold as far as I'm concerned. Too bad history doesn't remember them as well as some other groups. They should get more credit!
@Ponderosa67 The problem is that the baby boomers of the 60s looked upon doo-wop, blues, and early rock as some kind of tomming - fortunately, much of the tmusic is being rediscovered.
Cash aint nothing but trash, we spend it and it ends up as trash in plastic bags on the landfill site. We all get screwed, by the man. we work for day and night.

Some shit happened in the '60s and all the vintage rocknroll and R&B just went out of the window. Nowadays they have someting also called R&B but it's as the Clovers sing "...nothing but trash"
He had a Clovers group in the early 1970s & I saw them perform a few times. They had a good act and Harold was in great voice. I don't remember the names of the other people in his group. His lead singer looked like he weighed about 300 lbs.
Wow. You are related to music royalty. Your grandpa was a linchpin in the creation of R & B and its' greatest label, Atlantic Records. It's a shame that the Clovers are best remembered for Love Potion #9, a decade after they forever revolutionized the concept of the male vocal group.
that is so cool man...when I was a little toddler my folks used to play "Your Cash Ain't Nothin' But Trash"...I LOVED that jam...It blew me away that it has been uploaded to youtube...
Wow...... I adore the Clovers. They have so many, great songs. I have a cd of theirs. I listen to it, all the time. It never gets old. Just great stuff. I love the way, they sing Blue Moon. Whenever it plays, I sit down and take a minute to listen. I'am spellbound for a few minutes.
Barris I was 16 when this song was a hit. The Clovers were the kings back in the 50s but few people remember them. This is where rock began. Glad you found the original rythmn and blues. listen to all there songs like devil or angel, one mint juslip etc. you can get the cds on amazon.

The Paul Williams band did a good job accompanying The Clovers. Paul is the baritone sax player in the plaid jacket at the beginning of the clip.
