  • Good video. Don't let the haters get you down (they're probably not elect :)

  • nice thanks... the music makes Dr. MacArthur rapping hehehe... yeah indeed everywhere we walk there traps that are dangerous to Christians especially churches who aren't worshiping God and doesn't preach the bible where they think of only numbers.

  • It's is not anyone's job, Mac's or ours, to say who will or won't go to Hell. That's the work of the Holy Spirit. It IS our job, according to Matthew 28:19-20, to go out and preach the Gospel to ALL nations. We preach the Gospel, God does the saving. Romans 9 says there are vessels for wrath and vessels for mercy. God doesn't have to save ANY of us, but because of His love and mercy, He does save some. "For many are called, but few are CHOSEN" (all caps for emphasis) Matthew 22:14

  • @RealBloppy Prove your points biblically. I care nothing about your opinions. People who make comments and use not one bible verse tells they make god in there image and bow down to what there god would do. I know the god you worship would never do the things that boil your blood in this video. But the God of the bible has revealed Himself this way. Read the first Chapter of Ephesians. Acts 3:47 Acts 13:48. Knowing the fact that you won't deal with the hard verses in the bible I'll stop there

  • @RealBloppy I understand. You stopped by here before going on to Joel Olsteen.

  • @RealBloppy."What could that dead man do towards his own resurrection? Surely it must be a fact in philosophy which might strike every rational man, that that which does not exist, cannot put itself into existence. And so my new nature which did not exist before God gave it to me, could not bring itself into being. And yet you say a dead man makes himself alive, or at least does something towards it. Oh sir, you cannot mean it; you cannont mean it. To reason with you were ridiculous."-spurgeon

  • @ele12957returns How do you figure? What do you have to back up what you stated here?

  • Need help finding a biblically sound church in your area? Go to TMS.edu, look under alumni, and follow the lead from there. John MacArthur is president of The Masters Seminary.

  • The First Church of the Tares....You do not need to try and be relevant to draw the elect, you need to preach the truth....Good sermon Jam, my whole Christian life I have been one of the elect stuck in the Church of Relevance. Until recently, rather recently God has made me understand that I am one of His and I do not need to feel guilty any longer for those in His church, who call themselves His and yet just do not get it.

  • @theflarpus Thats Awesome, your going threw the same thing I went threw when I left the "Church" I was attending and made this video. Praise the Lord!

  • @theflarpus Praise the Lord for His word. What an Awesome God we serve. Well have to hang out when we get to heaven!

  • I think most people are not religious and once they go to a modern style church or a type of church where they don't feel judged, the Holy Spirit will get a hold of them and teach them the truth..I left my hip hop flashy crazy church but It was a hook to get me in...just saying

  • What was the context of Jesus when asked what must I do to be saved and He said keep the commandments and give away all you have to the poor and follow me? Count the cost. Why call me Lord Lord and do not do what I say? Many will say to me Lord Lord and I will say I never knew you. Many believed in His name, but He did not commit Himself to them. Read your Bible and do not trust your false prophet. God will not accept your excuse but my pastor said all I had to do was pray this prayer. Read

  • @wellthmaker So have you sold all you have and given it away? Did you pluck out the eye that sinned? Or what about the hand? Has your righteousness surpassed the Pharisee? Have you kept every command?

Just be careful who you profess NOT to be His, could you imagine judging one of Christ’s sheep and then yourself being judged by the same measure?

We need to be careful not to measure the salvation of another on a formula, it is in the person of Christ that we find salvation no one else

  • @stephjh2006 True true, but what does 2 Cor. 13:5 say?

  • @BecominglikeJESUS Test yourself to see if you are in the faith. The problem is too many want to test you for you. "Have you tested yourself? ahh don't bother I have done that for you and found you wanting"

  • @wellthmaker Great comment! You hit the nail on the head.

  • THis is the greatest sermon jam in my opinion on youtube!!! Not only the message the music is done wonderfully!!! Whoever did this excellent job!!!!

  • @soughtnsaved Thank you very much to God be the glory

  • @soughtnsaved WOW thanks!!!! Praise the Lord for his Word.

  • Awesome

  • Amen!!!! This is why its hard to find a good church these days. I'm sick of going to churches full of people that are more likely to pull you down into the world, and think your self righteous because you obey the bible. The hardest persecution a REAL bible believing Christian faces in America is probably in the church.(because their God is not like the "terrible" one you describe when you directly quote scripture)

  • @eyeztothesky Boy are you right!!!! My church is wanting to go with some silly church growth type nonsense and I've already offended two people by stating that it's unbiblical!!! Pretty soon there aren't going to be any decent churches where the gospel is preached. You don't dare share your faith with fellow church members as you're liable to offend them!!! What a sad, pathetic situation we find ourselves in!!

  • Still agnostic

  • Sin? hmmm... Mat 7:21-23, John 3:16-21, then read 36 - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth (G544 ἀπειθέω apeitheō - obedience) not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. 1 John 2:1-6, 15-17; 1 John 3:3-10. Probably the question is, are you fighting against sin or, you don't care if you are sinning or not. That will define what will be always forgiven and what will never be forgiven again. Hebrew 10:26-39. Shalom

  • John MaCarthur is a legend. I love him. A true man of God who preaches the gospel very well.

  • I am sorry but i have to disagree with this video, no matter how crazy we look, we have to use different strategies to win lives. I have seen that happen, and I can tell you it does work. God Bless!

  • "We have to use different strategies to win lives?"

When you say that, where do you get your authority from? The Bible does not say go out and come up with a clever strategy to win lost souls. To think this is saying that your own wisdom is greater than God's. Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to lead people to salvation. They must know what they are being saved from in order to be saved

  • I didnt not to share the gospel, there are many ways to share the gospel, that is what i was referring to, please think twice before posting a comment that will embarass yourself :)

  • @heribertoc9 Nope only one way Jesus and Him crucified, why He was crucified and how you can obtain salvation through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Sounds like one way. How will they hear without a preacher? Preach? Sounds like one way! Dont embarrass who?

  • 22 For indeed (A)Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; 23but we preach [a](B)Christ crucified, (C)to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles (D)foolishness, 24but to those who are (E)the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ (F)the power of God and (G)the wisdom of God. 25Because the (H)foolishness of God is wiser than men, and (I)the weakness of God is stronger than men.

  • Clearly as 1 Corinthians 1:22-25 stated, there is only one way to share the gospel. You do it by sharing Christ crucified. This will offend many people, and cause many people to turn away from it, but that is okay because God, through His infinate grace and wisdom, will call some to Him and they will be saved. No strategy that you or I come up with can change that. If so, the Bible would have called the wisest people to come up with the most clever schemes to save people. He chose the weak!

  • yes you can use strategies. where does the bible say not to use it? you've been shut down sir end of discussion

  • Once again I ask, where do you get your authority from to say that? I will not say anything else until you can answer that question because you obviously are trying to avoid it.

  • @mr4thq3 I think you are taking what i said the wrong way. Jesus is the only way of course as scripture says it, but where i was headed is some people believe that only hymns and what people call "boring songs", some kids in the world like secular rap, therefore God uses lecrae's music to reach out to those who are lost. Get what im saying?

  • @mr4thq3 Yea what mr4thq3 said! The Gospel is the power unto salvation!

  • Awesome

  • hi, what sermon is this from?

  • good sermon

  • Why is John McArthur contextualizing? He's not preaching like Paul: in Greek, with a robe on, in a pagan philosophical center, reading their poets. He's speaking English (and with an American accent!), with a Western suit and tie, in a Western style church building. Really!

  • ''Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine'' - 2 Timothy 4:1-3

  • And if you "preach the Word" speaking Mandarin to an English-only speaking audience, you're only a clanging cymbal, because you lacked the love to "contextualize".

  • In Acts 17, Paul did NOT contextualize his message...message was the same, God created the heavens and the earth, Christ died to save you from sins, without Christ, you'Re lost...same message throughout the book of acts and his epistles...

Paul's message in Acts 17 is God and Christ exhalting! It is a Christ-centered presentation... Their poets and the altar are really secondary, Christ is primary... No where in Paul's epistles, you'll find a call to ''contextualize'' the Word of God..No where!

  • That is right! Good job cutting it stright.

  • Apparently you don't understand what it means to contextualize. Why did Paul make reference to their religion and quote their poets? That is contextualizing by definition. It doesn't mean changing the message. Please learn what something is before denouncing it.

  • There's a lot of truth here but if John McArthur doesn't see that he is in a social-cultural context and his expectations and assumptions are shaped by his context. Further, he apparently doesn't understand that in Acts 17 Paul did contextualize his message.

  • That is right Paul did not contextualize. He saw who he was talking to and instead of preaching Christ from Abraham throught the proghets like He did to the Jews. He went from creation on the Christ.

  • With all due respect, you apparently don't know what it means to "contextualize". It's obvious that Paul was doing just that in Acts 17 (hence the reference to their religion, quotation of a Greek poet). Also you just described contextualization, the strategic crafting of the message to appeal to the audience. If Paul varied his approach because he was speaking to Gentiles, as you admit, he was contextualizing. John McArthur is shaped by his culture, that's why he wears a suit and tie.

  • let thewheat andtares growtogether cast in thesiskleat theend day...wecannot always seewhat is tares orwheat.butGod knoweth them that arewashed in Jesusshed blood

  • I love the part about... "don't appeal to anything innate to mans falleness..." wow how often that that pragmatic problem happen in today's churches?

  • John MacArthur - There IS A SERIOUS DEFECT in a so called 'Minister' content to be proud of assembling non-believers and calling them a church."

Me: The words above are like as if God Himself were addressing the matter. Great video, 5 stars. And one perfect 10 message from God, through John. John MacArthur a true leader in the field.

  • Great video !

  • Hey check out my sermon jam I just created, thanks!

    Blessings.

  • also, I would point out... the LAST image in the video? is NOT the gospel. it is the law...

"sin no more." is law. trust in the saving act of Christ -- that is gospel.

  • I agree ,pants with holes not a big deal. Sin no more that is what Jesus all ways said to those he incountered. He perfect standard.

    John 5:14,John 8 :11

Thanks for watching God bless .

  • The standard in obeying the LAW is perfect. My problem is... I DO sin. I sin daily. every hour. do I love my sin? no. but do I sin daily? you bet! as John said in his letter, anyone who says he is without sin is a liar.

if the requirement to enter heaven is to STOP SINNING, then... I'm screwed. The only one who has never sinned... never gone a DAY without sinning in his life... is Christ Jesus.

  • I fill your pain brother Im like you a nasty sinner. Praise God for a savior Like Jesus who wont let us go!

  • Oh so when Jesus told various people to "go sin no more" he was adhering to the law. I'll accept that. It is the very law we all will be judged upon.

The law isn't bad in itself, for without the law we would not know what sin was, and in essence what condition we are in as humans. Folks kill me with bashing the law, Jesus came not to abolish the law BUT to fulfill it.

By his grace and mercy we are redeemed from the curse of the law.

  • interesting that you say "the law isn't bad in itself" and then refer to the law as having a "curse."

Yes. "go and sin no more" is law. not gospel. and yes... jesus did not come to abolish the law. but to fulfill the law. agreed.

and we also know that salvation is NOT through the law. As Romans 3 says, the law was never meant to SAVE ANYONE. It is a signpost. it shows us the wretch that we are, and points to Christ and the gospel of him crucified to atone for our sins.

  • The law is GOOD because God gave us the law.

WE ARE EVIL. We are the sinners who couldn't live under the demands of the law. It is a curse to us, but make no mistake the LAW is good. Paul spoke on this very issue in Romans... you have to see the whole picture. We are redeemed from the curse of the law (because of our sinful nature) not because the law is bad, but because WE ARE EVIL.

The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, GRACE increased all the more.

  • simone56>>> You said "It is the very law we all will be judged upon"

That is not TRUE. If the Lord judges us by the law we will be found damned. God deals with the believer on the ground of Grace where by we are in Christ. We have been Justified(made righteous) by Faith in Christ. The law which is the STRENGTH of Sin has been removed.Praise God! Death has lost her sting which is Sin. Remember, we are In Chrsit, the wrath is gone, the law that demanded wrath it is Gone. We have been set free!!

  • You are correct in saying that Christians will not be judged on the law as individuals... but that is only possible because of the ONE who perfectly kept the law and died as a sin offering for us. God will see Jesus perfect in keeping the law and taking the wrath made for us and declare us FORGIVEN AND FREE!

The law did curse us, but they are God's laws so I consider them good because they came from God. I don't believe that Christians are obligated to keep the law.

  • amen. great stuff!

BUT about the "jeans w/ a rip in them" comment... the same could be said about the necessity of wearing suits. as if wearing suits "is necessary to draw in God's elect." We don't have to look ANY certain way to draw in God's elect. So the ripped jeans is neither the right way... nor the wrong way.

still, love Johny Mac and the vid! Thanks for posting!

  • AMEN!!

  • Greetings!

    Grace and peace, brothers!

    Michael

  • Great video and so needed. Thanks for your work.
