@meesternadim its all dependant on your car. this car for instance, rev to around 3500-4000 rpm then side step the clutch (move ur foot quickly to left so clutch is released). its quite brutal tho. a less brutal way is to hold the revs at 3500-4000 again and release the clutch until u find the biting point but hold it on the handbrake. this pre loads the transmission and you just release the clutch and handbrake the same time. this way takes a bit more time to get it right.
It's not an FR either, it was an original '20VT Cupra' (not at FR, 20VT, Cupra R or any other variant). It was a 2001/2 model year before the Cupra badge was dropped (and subsequently put back on). The reason I know is I bought it brand new in December 2001 and got rid of it in December 2004 (this was my car!) It was in Bronze Metallic (metallic lucozade!) a colour only available before the phase 2 bodykit was added for the 2003 model year. For it's day (almost 10 years ago) it was a quick car!
@vr6sy Yes only cupra R have white tacho - but this one is BLACK ;) and difference between cupra and FR engine ? both cars have 1.8L 20V Turbo ;) what is difference between cupra and cupra R ? 180 and 225 hp ? bullshit - version with 180HP is FR (or 150HP diesel) not cupra and cupra is only "human error" - all cupras have 224 HP with manufactory label cupra R !!! ;) HA

Hell Yeah! I wiped the floor with a 3Dr Honda Civic 1.6 VTi with mine last Sunday. Cocky little fucker was showing off with his girlfriend in his R-reg so I showed him how a 200hp Diesel kicks a 166Bhp V-Tec's ass. I'm very proud of my FR, she didn't spin the wheels like she normally does & the V-Tec was defeated!
It was doing his head in big time, there was just no way he was getting past while I had my foot down. Mine was comfortably pulling like a freight train in 2,000-3,500 short shifts, his sounded like a strangled cat!

I think you are getting the wrong Cupra... There is a Cupra T & a Cupra R. The Cupra T is a 1.8T with 180Bhp. The Cupra R is a 1.8T with 210/225Bhp. The Cupra T has black dials. The Cupra R has white dials. This has black dials so its a Cupra T. Which means its not the fastest top-dog Cupra (0-60 7.5s)
My 200Bhp TDi FR is probably not far behind it 0-60 wise & a Cupra T might only be as quick as a Saxo VTS for a Turbo-petrol but... They are the most flexible 4-cylinder engines you can get for tuning because they have 5 valves per cylinder. Tbh The non-aspirated 20V 1.8 (123hp) was slower than the Astras 1.8 16V (120hp) but then its got a more potential to be faster than the Astra when its tuned. They are great cars though. Ive got a mapped TDi version of a Cupra R & it beats most 16V GT's
There isnt such a thing as the Cupra T, from 2000-2003 it was the Sport, then rebadged to Cupra from 03 onwards. The Sport (the one in this video with the black dials) had a slightly smaller turbo.
Parkers says Cupra T Sport so maybe I'm wide of the mark. The 1.8 20VT was uprated in 2002 to 210 then 2003 it became 225. I'm sure the old 1.8T sport went on as an FR after 2004 because SDM FR's like mine (SDM = Silver Door Mirrors) are either 1.8T 188 or TDi 150. Its badged on the back of 2004 & onwards FR's as "20vT" or "TDI" in red letters
This car was a MY2002 '51 Plate. The badging was '20VT Cupra', it was indeed the pre-2003 facelift. For a while after the original Cupra they dropped the name to 20VT but the Cupra badge was back on when mine was made. It wasn't retro-fitted as this was my company car at the time and was supplied direct by Listers SEAT Coventry. For info it was the 'Bronze Metallic' (metallic lucozade) colour! In Britain this engine was 180Bhp, the Cupra R (twin intercooler) was 210Bhp then upgraded to 225Bhp.
Think the later models did? Though the name was changed to 20VT for a while before the Cupra badge went back on. Mine was registered in December '01 and I changed it in Dec '04 - but still miss the performance most days! TCS was poor on my model, far to aggressive in the way it cut the power, still was a few years ago and TCS was in it's early days for road cars!
Would it...not according to Peugeot's own stats, and if yours is modded then it's not even worth comparing - a few hundred quid on an ECU flash for the SEAT and it would make you look silly. I sold this car 5 years ago now, I used to love my 205GTi but can at least admit that whilst it was a 100% pure driving experience it would get wasted by the best today...I'd also suggest that if you tried to take a Cupra on "all day long" it would be your Pug that dies first, and terminally!
i agree i own a 205gti (aswell as others) and the leon would last longer and would be quicker 205gti is just brilliant drivers car and quick for 20yr old motor
I definitely wasn't knocking the 205, I loved mine and kept it for 11 years, only selling it due to no room to store it when i moved in with my other half! I still regret getting rid of it. I would smile every time I drove it,!
i know buddy, i didnt think you were knocking it lol, i should imagine the cupra r is a lot more reliable and a bit quicker standard, going on how many problems i ve had with my pug gti, considering how simple the engine bay is, it never fails to amaze me lol
thats not slow. thats fast for a 1.8t compared to saab which does it in over 20secs. Saab is prestigeous and not much is acheived from the turbo whereas seat is new on turbos and saab has been working on them for over 90 years!!
are you high fool, do some bloody research before posting, you're completely ignorant about saabs. a saab 9000 aero had quicker in gear acceleration (i think from 80km/h to 120km/h from memory) than many of the supercars of it's time. that information is only a google search away. a 9-3 aero could woop 911 turbo of its day in gear too! research dummy!!
I OWN A SAAB 9-3 Aero!! I KNOW it can beat a porshe 911. IM TALING ABOUT A 1.8t COMPARED to the SEAT 1.8t. THE SEAT is alot faster than the saab!! I LOVE BOTH CARS ALOT
The permament light was the low washer fluid warning as the tank was tiny and always running out, the flashing light was the traction control when the turbo got up to speed and the wheels started to spin! I should have switched traction control off, but this was 5 years ago and I never thought it would be posted on YouTube!!!
the leon cupra does have a turbo. some people dont like the spikey power deloivery off a turbo charged cars which is why they tune n/a cars. more modern turbos have smother delivery now tho, with some (bmw) emloyling two turbos, a small 1 for low down revs and then a bigger 1 that takes over at higher revs. virtually eliminates turbo lag.
i have an o2 plate cupra and you do get alot of performance reliability and build quality for the money.good car if ur on a budget. for a realitivly small outlay you could chip the engine and you would have a car with properly quick performance.
indeed, it only seems like an invitation to look like a prat (let alone a girl) to drive around in one of those if you're a bloke. Plus the KA is hardly sporty, any true motoring enthusiast classifies it as a supermini/girly hatchback/something to nip down to the local shops/salon in. Why doesn't KA man save some pennies and get a car that's not so ridiculous and what's more, doesn't feel like you are sitting on a pile of bricks.
Some dick up here's put devil horn spoilers on the back of his Ka
It's a UK Cupra (not Cupra R) so it only had 180BHP. The 215/225 were marketed as Cupra R's in the UK, I'd have another though. Have to say I don't agree with the Metro comment though, my 205GTi used to waste them, and anyway it wasn't to 60, it was to 100 and the Metro's run out of oomph at 85ish and then crawl up there. Plus remember that Metro's, Ka's and 220 Sli's don't have the 8 airbags, air con, electric seats, ABS, and solid construction, they therefore weigh in a lot lighter.
xD my ford ka has got a 2litre zetec blacktop engine bored out to 2.1, remapped, air filter, str8 through exhaust, fast road cams n few other tweaks I only had it cause someone owed me some money n got it cheap :D but still that is slow for a cupra :O
makes me laugh u got so insulted tho :D metro gti will basically keep up with that to 60 wouldnt be much in it guarantee u..
n a std ford ka 1.3 takes 10.3 to 60 that takes 8 seconds in ur clip well bout 7.5, shitty old rover 220sli is quicker
First of all, what would u rather be in then a metro or a seat leon? fuck sake i kno which one id be in fucking shit box metro how can u compare that!? second of all a ka is a girls car!
Off a cliff maybe, it's funny you should say that because my other half drives a Fiesta ST which I'm guessing would make your Ka look a bit silly? Anyway the ST isn't a patch on the Cupra. Come back when you've got something sensible to say and don't waste other peoples time.
Well if you read the detail or the message thread you'd know I can't add 'some parts' as I got rid of this car back in 2004. Thanks all for the positive comments, began to question whether I was the only one who thought it was an awesome motor. Wouldn't mind getting a Cupra R as a 3rd car as it would certainly be more fun than my A4 Cabriolet, not that I don't love that too!
I have run civic ek9 , Accord euro R and volvo s60 and now a stock cupra (not the R ) , i can say that this cupra beats them all for mid range grunt and unlike the previous cars , she does not spin her wheels either. VTEC is realy good fun and sounds great , its no problem to thrash the car everywhere . The cupra ; like the Volvo does not need thrashing and so is better in the wet then the honda.
I have owned a Leon 1.8 turbo for three months. The build quality is brilliant, and handling and reliability good. It's a really fun car to drive with plenty of power. Next stop an ECU remap.
Oh yeah, Seat's are not just good on the straights, they work in the corners too! My mate had a Leon Cupra and when we took it to a track day, it went round all the bends with no problems at all! Brilliant car.
What's with all the negative comments? Seats are cheaper, better looking VW's. Obviously they have the sae engines, they are made buy the same company!! And that is not slow for car that costs so little.
For the record, the official figures for the Cupra (NOT CUPRA R) were o-60 in 7.7 seconds, I always felt mine hit the 60 on the dial in just under 7 seconds but bear in mind that most clocks run about 5mph above what the car is actually doing (just try taking a sat-nav in and comparing it!) so maybe it was dead on 7.7 seconds, maybe a little below? As for 0-100mph, the car is no Veyron, but it did used to impress me how it didn't run out of steam all the way up.
.......anyway I loved the Cupra, it had bags of low end torque which made driving it fast effortless, no waiting for a 5-7000rpm rev band. I posted this video purely because I thought Cupra owners (or former owners like me) might enjoy seeing it. I'm glad it's raised a debate, but the Opel/VAG debate has been done to death now, I've considered removing the video, but reading the positive comments I don't want to as some people enjoyed seeing this. So people, please, Live and let live!
Hi everyone, I'm the guy who actually posted this! Everyone is entitled to an opinion, some people are Vauxhall/Opel enthusiasts, some Peugeot, some VAG and all brands have their own merits. I myself went from this Cupra (and bear in mind I changed this car back in 2004, so this video is probably 5 years old now) to a Saab 9-3 which had terrible quality problems and was always going wrong and I drive an Audi A4 Cabriolet now (which is just starting to enjoy it's first British summer!)..........
the opel first came in 2005 which is just a VXR then opel updated and called it the nuren
berg edition which has the same power but different paint decalls and with carbon fibre trim and fool leathers wider track for better handling and thats about it so its not quicker there the same speed
carlover u didn't make a mistake ur just a gay vauxhall fan thats chat aloud of shit trying to make out he mad a mistake when he really just gay prick fuck off and change ur screen name to bitchbullshitter that reflects who u are more acurately
Just so you guys know . . .that is an old cupra, they made a face lift version with white dials and the interior is really good in them(i used to have one, then traded it in for the cupra R)in conclusion the leon is an awesome car with a great interior!
just to end all haters comments...im driving at the moment a cupra R, 2003 model with a few tweeks. its putting out 280bhp and weighs fuck all. in the wet its not too good as it spins the wheels up to third gear, in the dry......another story!
i will be getting rid of this car soon as i only got it through swapping with a friend as the px value for my car was shit! but i cant hear a bad word about it as its superb!
It's not really buying VAG technology is it, they are all the same group so bound to use common technology. All manufacturers share technology these days, BMW use Peugeot engines in the Mini for god's sake! VAG have some of the most advanced technologies in the world (yes I do drive an Audi now and I am biased!), lets not forget who owns the commanding share of VAG - Porsche Gmbh!
I´m from Spain, I´m Spanish and I dont like SEAT. It`s the worst car´s company in the world.
They never have had own´s fabrication, and always The have buyed technologies from other companys, like FIAT between 1955 to 1990 and then from VAG Grüppen.
We always see a Seat Leon Cupra vs Renault Clio Sport 200cv or OPC Astra 240 cv or something, but I wanna see a Leon Cupra vs Honda Civic 2000 VTEC 200 cv.
In Spain, we usually say: SEAT, Siempre Estaras Apretando Tornillos xDxDxD.
I think it's a sign of getting old so excuse me for this comment. I bet that a Honda Civic Type R is faster round a track, but when I used to drive home from work in heavy traffic with my air-con on (option on the Civic Type-R in the UK at that time), sat in my leather seats with electric adjustment and listening to a 6 CD changer I pitied the bloke sat bolt upright in the Civic giving it 3000rpm just to get the thing moving without stalling! How many people drive their cars on a track anyway!
where is the opel opc at DTM cup...i cant see it...xD the new seat leon cupra has 240 is cheaper is faster weighs more than that opel shitty car...and flies faster than it
I drove an 03 cupra for a while with a decent remap and that brought the car alive big time. I had driven cars with bigger engines (even turbo'd) and the little 1.8 in the seat surprised me with it's power
So on that basis then a Cupra is a slow car and an Astra OPC [or insert whatever yo drive here] is a fast car is it? So if I then go and buy a Bugatti Veyron can assume that the I can call the Astra a slow car??? The Cupra is quicker than more cars than it is slower and even then so what? I drive an Audi A4 Cab now, it's slower than a Cupra but I'd rather have it than anything mentioned here!
It's not really a good argument for the Astra OPC! I don't want to lower myself to this level but as I drive a posh GM car now (Saab 9-3) I think I am qualified to say that GM forgot how to make good cars, the Saab has been totally 'Vauxhalled'. The build quality on the 9-3 is probably worse than the latest Vectra but that's not saying much, my 2001 Leon far outclassed my 2004 Saab or indeed the latest Vectra for quality.
Suppose your scooter is a load quicker is it mate. Anyway this is a few years ago now when you were probably still in nappy's! We're all a bit quicker now, and as for the S40 Volvo, lets just hope you don't meet a bend or it's curtains for you, can't believe anyone would show off about their mates Volvo.....loser
Nope it's not it's a completely standard 180bhp Cupra. Company car so no mods at all.I liked it back in the day whatever everyone else thinks. Got rid of it in 2004 and still miss it. Just ordered an Audi A4 Cabrio, but I know I will miss this car for a long time.

Of course he can't accelerate to the top, the engine is setup for torque low down and a big usuable rev range so peak power is at 5700 rpm. This car has better recovery times than the BMW 130i and almost all others in its class. I think he'd probably be faster if the driver hadn't pushed the revs that far...
borne you are in the wrong place mate, no one else here seems to have a brain. all they talk is complete shit, 90% of them arent even old enough to hold a driving licence.
What I find strange is that all these people who tell me that there cars are faster never seem to have a clip to prove it. Looking back I should have shifted sooner, but it's not easy doing a 0-100 ith the steering wheel and camera in one hand and the gear-stick in the other, I was pretty pleased all round.

Would it...not according to Peugeot's own stats, and if yours is modded then it's not even worth comparing - a few hundred quid on an ECU flash for the SEAT and it would make you look silly. I sold this car 5 years ago now, I used to love my 205GTi but can at least admit that whilst it was a 100% pure driving experience it would get wasted by the best today...I'd also suggest that if you tried to take a Cupra on "all day long" it would be your Pug that dies first, and terminally!
timjhoward 3 years ago
i agree i own a 205gti (aswell as others) and the leon would last longer and would be quicker 205gti is just brilliant drivers car and quick for 20yr old motor
sdubgti 3 years ago
I definitely wasn't knocking the 205, I loved mine and kept it for 11 years, only selling it due to no room to store it when i moved in with my other half! I still regret getting rid of it. I would smile every time I drove it,!
timjhoward 3 years ago
i know buddy, i didnt think you were knocking it lol, i should imagine the cupra r is a lot more reliable and a bit quicker standard, going on how many problems i ve had with my pug gti, considering how simple the engine bay is, it never fails to amaze me lol

thats not slow. thats fast for a 1.8t compared to saab which does it in over 20secs. Saab is prestigeous and not much is acheived from the turbo whereas seat is new on turbos and saab has been working on them for over 90 years!!
gk129 3 years ago
are you high fool, do some bloody research before posting, you're completely ignorant about saabs. a saab 9000 aero had quicker in gear acceleration (i think from 80km/h to 120km/h from memory) than many of the supercars of it's time. that information is only a google search away. a 9-3 aero could woop 911 turbo of its day in gear too! research dummy!!
honeychile1 3 years ago
I OWN A SAAB 9-3 Aero!! I KNOW it can beat a porshe 911. IM TALING ABOUT A 1.8t COMPARED to the SEAT 1.8t. THE SEAT is alot faster than the saab!! I LOVE BOTH CARS ALOT
gk129 3 years ago 2
i dont think so mate, the mg zs 180 takes 7.3 seconds to hit 60 so i wouldnt have thought urs would do it in 6.5. its also a 1.8 turbo.
paulyboyo1982 3 years ago
my mgzs 1.8 140hp can hit 60 in 6.5 and 100 in 18 seconds im very suprized that a 2.0 litre turbo is so slow, :) nice lookin car tho,
arrancooper69 3 years ago
its not a 2.0 Turbo btw mate there isn't one, all the petrol cupra R's are 1.8 litre 20-Valve 4cyl Turbos ranging from 180Bhp->210Bhp->225Bhp
1ns4ne1d10t 3 years ago
whats that dash light that is always on and the one which came on when u changed a gear?
shav4life 3 years ago
The permament light was the low washer fluid warning as the tank was tiny and always running out, the flashing light was the traction control when the turbo got up to speed and the wheels started to spin! I should have switched traction control off, but this was 5 years ago and I never thought it would be posted on YouTube!!!
timjhoward 3 years ago
i'd say 0-100 in 17 secs is pretty quick
EpicFailure92 3 years ago
the leon cupra does have a turbo. some people dont like the spikey power deloivery off a turbo charged cars which is why they tune n/a cars. more modern turbos have smother delivery now tho, with some (bmw) emloyling two turbos, a small 1 for low down revs and then a bigger 1 that takes over at higher revs. virtually eliminates turbo lag.
paulyboyo1982 3 years ago
i cant understand people who tune n/a cars with cams/boreing out, remap etc its pointless and expensive..
either buy a turbocharged car or make it one..., it is so the way to go for bang per buck imo...
shaun1982brookes 3 years ago
i have an o2 plate cupra and you do get alot of performance reliability and build quality for the money.good car if ur on a budget. for a realitivly small outlay you could chip the engine and you would have a car with properly quick performance.
paulyboyo1982 3 years ago
LOL at the super KA person below, you can't polish a turd, I'd rather have this fellas Cupra
Turbophile08 3 years ago
indeed, it only seems like an invitation to look like a prat (let alone a girl) to drive around in one of those if you're a bloke.
P4rtis4n 3 years ago
It's a UK Cupra (not Cupra R) so it only had 180BHP. The 215/225 were marketed as Cupra R's in the UK, I'd have another though. Have to say I don't agree with the Metro comment though, my 205GTi used to waste them, and anyway it wasn't to 60, it was to 100 and the Metro's run out of oomph at 85ish and then crawl up there. Plus remember that Metro's, Ka's and 220 Sli's don't have the 8 airbags, air con, electric seats, ABS, and solid construction, they therefore weigh in a lot lighter.

xD my ford ka has got a 2litre zetec blacktop engine bored out to 2.1, remapped, air filter, str8 through exhaust, fast road cams n few other tweaks I only had it cause someone owed me some money n got it cheap :D but still that is slow for a cupra :O
makes me laugh u got so insulted tho :D metro gti will basically keep up with that to 60 wouldnt be much in it guarantee u..
n a std ford ka 1.3 takes 10.3 to 60 that takes 8 seconds in ur clip well bout 7.5, shitty old rover 220sli is quicker
dizaleh 3 years ago
First of all, what would u rather be in then a metro or a seat leon? fuck sake i kno which one id be in fucking shit box metro how can u compare that!? second of all a ka is a girls car!

dizaleh 3 years ago
Off a cliff maybe, it's funny you should say that because my other half drives a Fiesta ST which I'm guessing would make your Ka look a bit silly? Anyway the ST isn't a patch on the Cupra. Come back when you've got something sensible to say and don't waste other peoples time.

Xxd3jayXx 3 years ago
Well if you read the detail or the message thread you'd know I can't add 'some parts' as I got rid of this car back in 2004. Thanks all for the positive comments, began to question whether I was the only one who thought it was an awesome motor. Wouldn't mind getting a Cupra R as a 3rd car as it would certainly be more fun than my A4 Cabriolet, not that I don't love that too!
timjhoward 3 years ago
I have run civic ek9 , Accord euro R and volvo s60 and now a stock cupra (not the R ) , i can say that this cupra beats them all for mid range grunt and unlike the previous cars , she does not spin her wheels either. VTEC is realy good fun and sounds great , its no problem to thrash the car everywhere . The cupra ; like the Volvo does not need thrashing and so is better in the wet then the honda.
S1eeperServ1ce 3 years ago
I have owned a Leon 1.8 turbo for three months. The build quality is brilliant, and handling and reliability good. It's a really fun car to drive with plenty of power. Next stop an ECU remap.

For a cheap engine, its defenitely not slow. 7.0 sec 0-60? not bad
4MATICbenz 3 years ago
Oh yeah, Seat's are not just good on the straights, they work in the corners too! My mate had a Leon Cupra and when we took it to a track day, it went round all the bends with no problems at all! Brilliant car.
2007DBR9 3 years ago
What's with all the negative comments? Seats are cheaper, better looking VW's. Obviously they have the sae engines, they are made buy the same company!! And that is not slow for car that costs so little.
Nice vid, and a nice car! I love Seat's :)

Hi Tim,
I've just bought a 2001 Cupra (180bhp) same as yours. I've only had it a few days and i absolutely love it!!
Put's a massive smile on my face when i turn the key and drive off to work in the morning.
Dooes anyone know any good places for tuning mods?
I'm getting a pipercross viper induction kit to give it a nice growl at low rev's.

As for 0-100mph, the car is no Veyron, but it did used to impress me how it didn't run out of steam all the way up.
timjhoward 3 years ago
do most cars really have inaccurate speedometers, cuz someone said when ur cruisin at 120 mph in a BMW, ur actually only doin 108.
4MATICbenz 3 years ago
.......anyway I loved the Cupra, it had bags of low end torque which made driving it fast effortless, no waiting for a 5-7000rpm rev band. So people, please, Live and let live!
timjhoward 3 years ago
Hi everyone, I'm the guy who actually posted this! Everyone is entitled to an opinion, some people are Vauxhall/Opel enthusiasts, some Peugeot, some VAG and all brands have their own merits. I myself went from this Cupra (and bear in mind I changed this car back in 2004, so this video is probably 5 years old now) to a Saab 9-3 which had terrible quality problems and was always going wrong and I drive an Audi A4 Cabriolet now (which is just starting to enjoy it's first British summer!)..........

I thought your English was pretty good!
It's not really buying VAG technology is it, they are all the same group so bound to use common technology. All manufacturers share technology these days, BMW use Peugeot engines in the Mini for god's sake! VAG have some of the most advanced technologies in the world (yes I do drive an Audi now and I am biased!), lets not forget who owns the commanding share of VAG - Porsche Gmbh!
timjhoward 4 years ago
Siauka 4 years ago
I think it's a sign of getting old so excuse me for this comment. I bet that a Honda Civic Type R is faster round a track, but when I used to drive home from work in heavy traffic with my air-con on (option on the Civic Type-R in the UK at that time), sat in my leather seats with electric adjustment and listening to a 6 CD changer I pitied the bloke sat bolt upright in the Civic giving it 3000rpm just to get the thing moving without stalling! How many people drive their cars on a track anyway!

180 hp is Leon Top Sport, u idiot. Cupra is 225
grzybek55 4 years ago
I make a mistake. So what, even if this car has 180hp, this is fucking slow car...
carlover012 4 years ago
So on that basis then a Cupra is a slow car and an Astra OPC [or insert whatever yo drive here] is a fast car is it? So if I then go and buy a Bugatti Veyron can assume that the I can call the Astra a slow car??? The Cupra is quicker than more cars than it is slower and even then so what? I drive an Audi A4 Cab now, it's slower than a Cupra but I'd rather have it than anything mentioned here!
timjhoward 4 years ago
cupra r start at 225bhp then for a few quid the real fun begins! mines putting out 280bhp for not that much cash on top of the cars price.

omg this car is too slow. astra OPC is much better
bolimesupak 4 years ago
It's not really a good argument for the Astra OPC! I don't want to lower myself to this level but as I drive a posh GM car now (Saab 9-3) I think I am qualified to say that GM forgot how to make good cars, the Saab has been totally 'Vauxhalled'. The build quality on the 9-3 is probably worse than the latest Vectra but that's not saying much, my 2001 Leon far outclassed my 2004 Saab or indeed the latest Vectra for quality.
