I remember watching on tv the horror that was happening. This tribute was such an honor to the people who died that day and to the people that rushed in to save them. If you can't see the respect in this you have no heart and should be ashamed of your self. Your parents missed something raising you.

Wow, I didn't get to see this commercial when it aired but wow, this made me tear up even 10 years after that horrible day. This is as great and touching as the Dale Earnhardt tribute Budweiser commercial that aired just a couple weeks after Dale Earnhardt's death.
I still can't watch this commercial without tearing up. What makes it even more moving to me is knowing they only played this add ONCE......just once.....it wasn't done to make money, or to make people talk...it was done just for the reason it says...RESPECT
This must be, without a doubt, one of the most moving displays of respect for one's country and people...without words and within one minute. The powerful and majestic team of horses couldn't have been more perfect, and I am moved to tears every time I watch this. Thank you, Budweiser!
IMO this isn't a typical Budweiser commercial because they're usually funny and crazy and stuff but this one has the beautiful song playing with the beautiful horses trotting through the streets then bowing down... I know people who actually SEEN these horses and they said they are the most beautiful horses!

I watch this video each year before Super Bowl. There have been a lot of commercials made over the years for the big event but this is the ONLY one that I remember, almost 10 years later. All the others have faded over the years but the Respect commercial is the one that stays in my heart and mind. A moving tribute to a terrible time for our nation - never forget!

There was a lot of sensitivity in the US the time. Anheuser-Busch addressed it with such dignity to show their solace and respect. I applaude their advertising agency. This was not a beer commercial, it was one that paid tribute to the times in good taste when it was called for.
I love everything about this commercial. The horses really simplify and capture the emotions everyone was feeling. They go all the way to New York, as if they have to see it for themselves to believe it. They get there, see it for themselves, stand around kind of stunned, like they still can't grasp it, and then do the only thing that can possibly be done: remember and show respect.
I was absolutely stunned when I saw this back in `02. No words are spoken but these magnificent animals brought the feeling America was feeling home. Thank you Budweiser.
They only played this once during the game in '02, but I was fortunate enough to see it live. I remember feeling goosebumps and shivers like I had never experienced before when I saw it then. After watching it for the first time in a while, they came right back.
I was born and raised in St. Charles, went every year to Grants farm and to tour the brewery. These horses are beautiful and magnificent. This makes me proud to be a Bud girl.
if i were making this commercial... when the close up of the horse's face is made, i would have made sure his blinders were not on. i could imagine some conspiracy nut using that as some crazy rant about how 9/11 was an inside job and Budweiser knew about it. lovely commercial otherwise.
Wow! This video is one f the most awesome tributes I have ever seen regarding that terrible day in my City. (Yesterday, 9/11/10, was the first time I had seen this commercial.) We should all bow our heads with the amount of respect that was symbolized by these Clydesdale images. On this 9th anniverary of that day that changed history I again watched the reading of the names of those lives lost at the World Trade Center disaster and my heart is still heavy. It doesn't matter if Budweiser still owns the Clydesdale's or if they own any horses, the fact is....they not only showed respect and honored the victims of that horrible tragic day, but they did it with class...not for the advertisement to ring up sales, but to wipe the tears and pat those who deserve it on the back...to them a ^5 and a "thank you" you can hear around the world.
Well, anyone who still thinks Budweiser is the same is mistaken. A foreign company now owns them and got rid of the Clydesdales. So much for wanting to keep Bud the same. They used to be a class act and the horses showed it, now they are a money grubbing corporation. You notice no horse commercials in the last super bowl?
I love Budeiser, not because of the taste I don't know anything about that yet :P but because of its pride of their country, if only more companies could be like them
It starts of with the horses making their typical annual round to the city with the music bright and cheery like you always here it and you don't really expect anything other than what you're used to seeing from budweiser; but something was different....
when they reached downtown the bright cheery music stopped and the horse looked around kind of confused. Then they focused on the Statue of Liberty for strength and to pay respect. I was totally blown out of the water!!!

I worked at a farm in New Jersey and this horse team stayed at the property while they were filming in New York. Was great to have them there, and hear that they were doing a tribute to 9/11 were the horses bowed, well done.
Well said. this was shown ONCE when everyone at super bowl XXVI was on and the training that it took for those horses. it starts from the back and here we are in 2010 . no they did not do this for money heck no for what it was RESPECT.

Beautiful, tasteful, moving...made me cry when I first watched it in 2002. I've never forgotten it, and it still has the same effect on me today. Perhaps the best ad ever, IMO.
I am a retired horsewoman. I know the training it took to teach these wonderous clydesdales this, did everyone notice their foot movements were almost perfectly matched, it started with the back feet to the right front then to the bow of the left foot and then head, I have to wonder if there was a command for each movement. I had to play this thing on repeat for about an hour before I could watch it without tears.
This was dircted by Zack Snyder. Hard to believe that such a beautiful commercial came from the person that directed such violent films as 300,The watchmen and Dawn of the Dead remake. Great job Zack.
I agree with you Les. Yes, it might be an ad and propaganda - but the Budweiser Co. and their Clydesdales, the Superbowl, and the WTC are all pieces of Americana. This was one piece of Americana paying its respects to another. Still tear when I watch it. Still my favorite~
While discussing today the host of terrible, inane, idiotic superbowl commercials we saw this year, I recalled this one. To me, this by far the best and most memorable one to date.
When viewing this, one can almost feel the beauty and majesty of these magnificent animals! It is almost as if they could actually "feel" the country's mourning and loss. What a wonderful, wonderful tribute. Very well done Budweiser, thank you for sharing your beautiful animals with us. Everytime I see this, it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you again.

I remember everyone at my house to watch the game getting so quiet and teary at this commercial when they aired it during that Super Bowl (which, fittingly, a team named the Patriots won). And all these years later, it still makes me cry. Well done, Budweiser.

This has got to be one of the most moving commercials I have ever seen. They only aired it once during the Superbowl in 2002, five months after the attacks. They only showed it once because not only sis they want to show respect to those lost, they didn't want to profit from showing the commercial over and over again.

They only played this once during the game in '02, but I was fortunate enough to see it live. I remember feeling goosebumps and shivers like I had never experienced before when I saw it then. After watching it for the first time in a while, they came right back.

I was born and raised in St. Charles, went every year to Grants farm and to tour the brewery. These horses are beautiful and magnificent. This makes me proud to be a Bud girl.

if i were making this commercial... when the close up of the horse's face is made, i would have made sure his blinders were not on. i could imagine some conspiracy nut using that as some crazy rant about how 9/11 was an inside job and Budweiser knew about it. lovely commercial otherwise.

Wow! This video is one f the most awesome tributes I have ever seen regarding that terrible day in my City. (Yesterday, 9/11/10, was the first time I had seen this commercial.) We should all bow our heads with the amount of respect that was symbolized by these Clydesdale images. On this 9th anniverary of that day that changed history I again watched the reading of the names of those lives lost at the World Trade Center disaster and my heart is still heavy. It doesn't matter if Budweiser still owns the Clydesdale's or if they own any horses, the fact is....they not only showed respect and honored the victims of that horrible tragic day, but they did it with class...not for the advertisement to ring up sales, but to wipe the tears and pat those who deserve it on the back...to them a ^5 and a "thank you" you can hear around the world.

Well, anyone who still thinks Budweiser is the same is mistaken. A foreign company now owns them and got rid of the Clydesdales. So much for wanting to keep Bud the same. They used to be a class act and the horses showed it, now they are a money grubbing corporation. You notice no horse commercials in the last super bowl?

It starts of with the horses making their typical annual round to the city with the music bright and cheery like you always here it and you don't really expect anything other than what you're used to seeing from budweiser; but something was different....
when they reached downtown the bright cheery music stopped and the horse looked around kind of confused. Then they focused on the Statue of Liberty for strength and to pay respect. I was totally blown out of the water!!!

They only aired it once so as not to benefit financially from it - they just wanted to acknowledge the tragic event. This is so consistent with a company who always does things with a ton of class!! Can you imagine what the cost was considering production, air time, etc? I never saw this commercial until now. it is quite moving. Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words

I worked at a farm in New Jersey and this horse team stayed at the property while they were filming in New York. Was great to have them there, and hear that they were doing a tribute to 9/11 were the horses bowed, well done.

Well said. this was shown ONCE when everyone at super bowl XXVI was on and the training that it took for those horses. it starts from the back and here we are in 2010 . no they did not do this for money heck no for what it was RESPECT.

Beautiful, tasteful, moving...made me cry when I first watched it in 2002. I've never forgotten it, and it still has the same effect on me today. Perhaps the best ad ever, IMO.

I am a retired horsewoman. I know the training it took to teach these wonderous clydesdales this, did everyone notice their foot movements were almost perfectly matched, it started with the back feet to the right front then to the bow of the left foot and then head, I have to wonder if there was a command for each movement. I had to play this thing on repeat for about an hour before I could watch it without tears.

I agree with you Les. Yes, it might be an ad and propaganda - but the Budweiser Co. and their Clydesdales, the Superbowl, and the WTC are all pieces of Americana. This was one piece of Americana paying its respects to another. Still tear when I watch it. Still my favorite~

When viewing this, one can almost feel the beauty and majesty of these magnificent animals! It is almost as if they could actually "feel" the country's mourning and loss. I have to agree with everyone's comments here. I remember watching this one when it aired and thinking to myself, "That has to be THE BEST, most moving commercial I've ever seen in my life." I remember looking at everyone and there was not a dry eye in the house! Well done Budweiser!

I remember everyone at my house to watch the game getting so quiet and teary at this commercial when they aired it during that Super Bowl (which, fittingly, a team named the Patriots won). And all these years later, it still makes me cry. Well done, Budweiser.

Best commercial of the decade. May it continue to live on as a classic. This brought me to tears when I first saw it back in 2002. It was rated the best commercial of the superbowl, and with good reason.
