Buddha, previously Siddhartha Gautam, was born in Lumbini, Nepal- so that does not make him an Indian Prince. However, he did get enlightenment in India.
@thuski In those days there was no distinction between India and Nepal, it was all the same people, culture, language and so on, in a way it still is, Hinduism is the official religion of Nepal.
India is a synonym for the entire Indian subcontinent. Also, the state of Nepal did not exist 2500 years ago :)
