  • Where can i buy one of these.

  • I had this when I was a kid now I'm looking for one for my son. It was the most amazing set ever but me being the idiot boy that I was, I lost and or broke most of it so it only got used a couple of times. I'm going to teach my son better if I can get a hold of one for him.

  • ZERO GRAVITY CLIFFHANGERS now with RADIUM!

  • Me and my brother got this set for Christmas in 78. The lint build-up in those cars created problems but were easily cleaned. We also had several Aurora AFX sets as well. Why can't they make cool toys like this anymore?

  • I have this set in my closet! I have 2 in fact one is at my grandmothers houe, it has no cars though just the track! I'm gonna make a Tron like movie based upon the set

    actually using it!

  • WOOHOO Thumbs up if you had these!!

  • Daytooonnaaaaaa!!!

  • those were the days, man. I am 36 now,and I still like toys like this today. I'm not ashamed to say that I'm a TOYS-R-US big kid now.

  • @wiccannuggets keep watching Ebay, every now and then a set comes by.

  • @wiccannuggets of course these are HO scale cars but if you google '1/32 slot cars' .. you'll be SHOCKED at whats available! ALL kinds of cars and tracks! i race slot cars with a club and have slot car vids on my channel, check 'em out. btw.. i had this track as a kid.. it rocked! the cars climbing the wall was the best part! i'm still a 35 year old kid at heart too! ;)

  • got damn those where the days my mom through all my tracks out. i bet no 1 on herer had the tyco thundercat edition

  • that track was a bitch to put together but man that was some FUN shit

those lil cars were fast too

they need to remake this toy id buy one now as a grown up

  • I owned this toy. It was great.

  • Hey.. if u guys play Lego Racers 2.. there is a map similar to this track.. i wonder if lego racers copied this...

  • klkjjoi,j.;bnbnnmmfhhg

  • I remember this commercial airing when I was a little kid. Damn, but I wanted this toy. My family was dirt poor and we couldnt afford store bought toys advertised on tv like this one. My toy collection pretty much consisted of mis-matched odds and ends, bits and pieces, that were handed down to me by friends, or found in the streets somewhere, etc. Toy commercials, like this one (and being a big watcher of tv, I saw thousands of them), only served to torture me.

  • WORD...

  • @classicphile Same here. The closest I came to owning this is when I went to the local Dept. Store, Two Guys to be exact, to play the display model.

  • Maaaan! That brought back memories. My brother and i got one of these for christmas a long time ago.

  • same here...i'm 30 years old now, and haven't seen one since back then! i'm gonna get on on ebay!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank GOD for Ebay....

  • totally agree!!!

  • I got this for x-mas as a kid.

  • how stupid iz dis song

  • what you on about i isten to this all the time one of my all time fav tunes

  • Got this for Xmas 1984... never worked quite as well as in the commercial, and the novelty wore off pretty quick, but hey.. it had NIGHTGLOW!!

  • oh I have this when I'm a kid too

it's very fun, but a looping breacks and the car impact in my head...

  • I had that race track when I was a kid. It was fun. The only problem was you couldn't go full speed all the time as the cars would fling off the track going around the corners.

  • thats what the rails were for!

  • And, that's what the throttles were for! ;)

Another comment was right, though -- after a while, the novelty kinda wore off. Those Magnum 440's magnets were pretty darn strong and weren't very forgiving at the limit.

What's fun is using regular flat or banked track and running the old AFX cars that didn't have traction magnets to keep themselves glued to the track. You could powerslide around corners if your throttle control was really good.

  • LOL

"turn out the lights and your in nightglow" LMAO! If only I could stull buy that

  • .....oooohhhh night glow.....

  • I had that track also. Man that brings back some good memories. The 80's ruled, gone are the days where kids could GOD forbid plug something in a electrical outlet to get it to work.

  • Cliffhanger management, or... cliff anger management

  • The 80s were that cool.

  • Hahaha - "turn out the lights and you're in nightglow!". Only the 80s could've been that cool.

  • cool.. excellent commercial
