Elvis was never allowed to develope as an artist because of an idiot named Tom Parker. And he apparently hated the Beatles but did a few beatle covers and from this he toyed with a few others.
Biribosque - this song reminds me of white rubber neckin' with Dorina, at the equator.
Heyyyyyy, what about me, asks Whoopulls - of course dahring. Then, I left Dorina, by the skin of her own, neck, and played with you on our cloud 9. I love you dharing. Heyyyy, what about me? asks Dorina. Did you need something? Whhhhhhhhhhhat? Noh. bite. smile. laugh. you couldn't see that. sloposwsky, i can act - hoooter, tooters, you look like a low down looter, substandard scooter - stop it now.
colonel parker didnt want elvis to be too sucesful which is why he tried to commercialze him and take him away from his black roots. if anything it was the colonels fault other racess quuestioned elvis SINCERETY. CSTANCHIK
@CSTANCHIK I think had Elvis stayed with Sam Phillips he would have wrote songs, and everything. He had too many people trying to suppress his talent rather than letting him be Elvis.
@andyjohnD You got that fuckin' right!!!!! and the Colonel was the worst of them all sure he knew business how to cheat writers, musicians and Elvis too Elvis should have relaeased stuff like this instead of locking it away in an incomplete state little more than a rehersal look at the lyrics of Lady Madonna He was playing around he has so much talentt but could have gone even further much further

@andyjohnD YES!!! The studio music was stoppped by the Colonel he last original big hit was the first I bought back in NY in the 1963 "Devil in Disguise" not knowing after that it was just movies which went from bad to terrible and likewise the soundtrack LPs RCA had to go to the vaults and also a very few quality songs from the films until "If I Can Dream" and "In the Ghetto" and "Suspicious Minds" his last #1 single although "Burning Love" made #2 The Colonel was a cheap penny pinching con man
Lady Madonna was an impromptu performance from the Memphis sessions in 1969. BMG discovered this take after they had released the 60s box set and put it on the 70s box set instead. The reason Elvis flubbed the lyrics was that that he didn't know all the words. He had plans to return to the song and record a proper version but never did because the sessions came to an end.
That wasn't the memphis sessions this is at nashville in 1970 or maybe 1971, Charlie McCoy the Harmonica player wasn't at the memphis sessions and you can tell its a diffrent band
The first info I had on the song before it was released on the 70s box set was that it was from the '69 sessions, disocvered too late to be included in the 60s box set. But, you're right, it doesn't sound like it's from those sessions. As for when the song was actually recorded, someone has it in '71 but as the song was found a couple of decades after the fact, the date may only be a guess. As for McCoy, he's not credited among the musicians playing on the song tho' it does sounds like him.
@dannycs77 Yeah it's bad even for fooling around in the studio on a song never intended to be worked on to make it suitable for album filler much less a serious effort to add to his repetoire
You are right. Elvis record Little Sister and Get Back togheter in 69'. The Elvis Style is the base for rock'and roll music without Elvis there's nothing
@Biribosque I disagree. Elvis was a participator in rock n' roll; by far he was no innovator. Rock n' roll came from a lot of genres, not a person. Rock n' roll was around before him. Without Elvis there's nothing? Without all the jazz, blues, gospel, and country players before Elvis, there would be no Elvis! Arguably, the Beatles received more influence from Chuck Berry, or Little Richard.
I'm not saying Elvis wasn't influential. I'm just saying he isn't the God of all music. No one is.
very cool

Elvis passed away on Madonna's (Louise Ciccone) 19th birthday and she took it as a sign and moved to NYC.

A lot of Beatles songs were written following Elvis style. Get back is very close to Little Sister for instance.
