No surprise here, Obama choosing another guy from Illinois who happens to be Arab, and as most (but not all) Arabs are, he's anti-Israel to the max, and has shown sympathies with terrorists. I for one don't feel comfortable with his role in part of our government critical to national security.

Either way, Islam requires following the Sunnah (example of Muhammad & companions), including as to how to wage jihad against a stronger enemy--Muhammad & his Muslims in Medina did just that against Meccans early on. You seem to have hang-ups concerning Islam, but when evaluating a religion you must also evaluate how it is interpreted. The premise that all Muslims view the Koran as literal is false. Sunnah has different interpretations across the sects. I could say all Christians want death to heathens because of Chronicles 15:12, but both of us would know that is false. You should look into Sufism, you may see another picture.

Circle, I am not "evaluating a religion" (prayer, fasting, worship, rituals, etc), but rather the dangerous imperialistic political ideology of Islam, as recorded in Quran, Hadith & Sira. I got to the texts, reading them as ordinary speech and in context, as I do in studying the Bible. There are places where jihad is recorded as historical narrative, true, but unfortunately the texts teach jihad as precept for all time as well. Basic reading comprehension, pretty simple stuff.

Your posts of unconnected dots does not allow for the circumstances of reality. Why would a jihadist appoint an Israeli chief of staff? You can't point out every Muslim he's ever talked to and ignore all the Jews he's associated with. I appreciate Obama's inclusive attempts, he knows full well than he will need a strong centrist coalition in order to run this country properly or he will be under constant assault by half of America. Obama's REAL opposition are the far-left radicals, the conservatives are ideological opposites of Obama's in many key areas but they are the key to his second term because of the most important constituency out there... the Independents like me.
