If you're trying to get the sour version you need a jack o lantern. To get to the jack o lantern, you need to grow a pumpkin seed or buy a pumpkin then have tinker change the pumpkin into a jack o lantern, or just have 3 mothdrops in your garden to get the regular version of sherbat and have him eat 2 of those to get him as a resident.
