  • just felt like listening to some shit i havent heard in a while. i remembered why i stopped liking underground shit for a while, it has nothing to do with the music. it has more to do with the density of alot of its fans. yea i like aesop rock, i grew up on underground hip hop when it was still underground. and i fuckin love kanye west, dude is a genius, so is jay-z, is rakim not real hip hop? he used to wear big fuckin gold ropes and talked about (ghasp) money!

  • I think this is the only song that i've heard atleast 10,000 times and still sounds just as good as when i heard it for the 1st time..

  • This is the soundtrack to my fantasy reality where all the raw lyricists are in the Mainstream, and the underground hosts today's chart toppers. A place where the more mindless the music the harder it is to find. Too bad this dream only lasts 4:28....Oh wait I can loop this. Ahhhh thats the good stuff. Do Not Disturb. Good Music in progress

  • please... dont be here because of anything else but the genius of this song.

doesnt matter though. you 2012 newbies will never spoil these songs for my generation sorry

  • What is this song about?(i understand some parts but can't comprehend the main point).

  • @breakcore45 hint: focus on the feather/lottery ticket line and the chorus and see what you come up with. It's worth figuring out on your own.

  • *memories*

  • This my song

  • IM HERE BECAUSE OF ASAP ROCKY

  • hey i stole your name. i'm asap rocky.

  • fuck mainstream get those garbage rappers off this fuckin page whoever's comparin legends to truckdrivin passin througher's

  • the guy is a true artist it is a crime to compare him to the mainstream rapper. Those who do, what is there to compare? The mans a genuine lyrical genious, it is an insult to compare him to anyone short of shakespeare... bitch...

  • "lifes a bitch" lifes not a bitch life is a beautiful woman, youre only calling her a bitch cause she wont let you get that pussy, maybe she didnt feel yall shared any similar interests, or maybe youre just an asshole who couldnt sweet talk the princess, kiss the speaker wire or either pass it from some pagan thresh hold. wow thats....true

  • First time I heard of Aesop Rock. I dig it. I really dig the lyrics and good groove.

  • Lol at everyone on this commenting about how rap is manufactured. That may be true, but ya'll sound like hipsters for real.

  • hey im a 16 year old hip hop producer looking to get name out there.

if you could peep my channel i would really appreciate it.

    thank you everybody

  • Woops i fucked up

  • Lifes not a biotch keeping the villagers circling the market place out tryin to find the G-Spot.

  • aesop is one of very very few rappers keeping true hip hop alive

  • Dex jux fucked up signing Aesop

  • ASAP Rocky>Aesop Rock...... Aesop raps with marbles in his mouth while reading from a thesaurus.. what a waste of production

  • @yeahthatstuff You fruit cake

  • @yeahthatstuff Aesop is so incredibly intelligent. I don't think you understand all of his references, but saying he's reading a thesaurus. I think you need to google the definition of thesaurus.

  • @sweetlyseductiv i think you need to cockriding rappers that you think are "deep"

  • @yeahthatstuff i think you need to learn english and read some history books.

  • @sweetlyseductiv You think you're clever don't you? Oh man you really got me there.... go ahead keep thinking you're "deep" just because you listen to Aesop Cock

  • @yeahthatstuff First off I don't think I'm deep.

Second off I don't know Aesop Cock.

And third off I barely listen to Aesop Rock. It's not really my type of music but I can appreciate the lyricism.

  • @sweetlyseductiv Okay if Aesop Pop makes you feel like you are above all human beings.. continue living, you trying to be "deep" isn't hurting me or anyone else.

  • @yeahthatstuff Well I see this conversation is pointless because you only see what you want to see. Bye~~

  • @yeahthatstuff You're a herb. People like you do not belong in Hip Hop. Nobody once said anything about feeling "better" than anyone else for listening to Aesop, you're the one who initiated the confrontation. Music is about interpretation and opinion. Don't condemn something because you don't understand it; learn about it, or leave. Your comments on this video showcase your insecurity.

  • @Reachwun well said

  • @xgamble89x I know

  • @yeahthatstuff You silly bitch. Of course listening to Aesop Rock makes you deep, just like listening to Kayne West made you an arrogant dicksipper that crys over YT videos for music he doesn't even like. Lol, kids today

  • @yeahthatstuff I was going to write a paragraph telling you how much of a fucktard you are. Then, I decided against it. You're not worthy of my time.

  • @madhouse221 then don't write it, stay scared scared pussy

  • Aesop Rock > A.$.A.P Rocky

  • @MrIBBeats your an idiot

  • @Intertronlive try *you're little guy.

  • @MrIBBeats yea fuck that name snatcher

  • The shit!

  • I want this song to be played at my funeral

  • @Jdb403og Daylight at the being Nightlight at the end. :D

  • love it

  • Salute.

  • see, i know people who are like "who's aesop rock? if i haven't heard of THEM, THEY must suck" people who are so uneducated ... it's sad.

  • OCELOTE

  • TairyHesticles account is full of underground rap

  • I'm disappointed that I cannot escape the topic of mainstream garbage, even around an artist who is supposed to be my safe haven music wise.. Please, no one mention that faggot from Louisiana any longer. Just enjoy real music. We'll all be so much happier.

  • True Hip-Hop...runnin' circles around mainstream......we never lose heart

  • MUST NOT SLEEP MUST WARN OTHERS.

Thats all that ever need to be said about Aesop. Its music if you feel it then use it, if not fuck the fuck off.

  • Damn this is a good as song lol

  • siiiiiick

  • The band has talent, Their white :)

  • This guy has talent!

  • You guys should all thank Anthony Simon for helping to produce these beats.

  • sounds like moleman! you know that one song put your qaurter up its on tony hawks american wastland

  • aesop is a light in nowadays rap darkness

  • This is a masterpiece

  • I see where Macklemore's style was inspired from. :)

  • @EasyGoingRasta please.. dont start with macklemore on here -.-

  • @EasyGoingRasta Actually Macklemore got some atmosphere, especially in his song white privileges

  • I really like the message. Make the most out of life, no matter how shitty it may be.

  • ur all fags talkin bout oh actually that B.G.s song not wayne, oh im so fuckin cool think i know bout hip hop shut the fuck up u fuckin squares u dont know shit..

  • True shit

  • @Ineedanewgamertag The song "Bling Bling" is technically B.G.s song, not wayne, wayne only did the hook. But the term Bling bling has been around for 30 years or so, coming from a toothpaste commercial in the 60's( yes this is true). Lil wayne has invented nothing, instead choosing to follow everyone hes ever known but only is half as good (i.e. B.G. & Juve)

  • @stonedgeorge one of my favorite lines of all time!

  • Lil wayne is poop

  • Why are people talking about and comparing Jay z and Lil wayne on an Aesop video, Aesop is a true poet lil wayne and jay z are just puppets of the mainstream record labels.

  • @Jormannnnnnnn I will agree with you about Lil' Wayne but Jay-Z is an extremely talented rapper who decided to go mainstream after his first, amazing, album. Lil' Wayne his extremely bad but Jay-Z is still skilled.

  • @imag1291 no

  • @stephen3eyes Explain please,

  • @Jormannnnnnnn lil wayne yes, almost everey main stream artist yes, jay z? no he still raps about whatever the fuck he wants cant lose respect for him.

  • @Jormannnnnnnn jay z has his own label

  • @christ425 and he sold out to get it man this artist our part of the community jay z uses slave labor for his clothing hypocrit man educate yourself

  • @Jormannnnnnnn same thing with lil wayne

  • @christ425 No.. He has a sub-label... Young money's parent label is cash money and their parent label is universal music group. They don't make real shit they make music to appeal to the masses to put money in to the record label executives' greasy hands.

  • @Matt777shxt could not have said it better myself if i tried.

  • @christ425 Its funny how much of a toolbag you are.

  • Comment removed

  • @Jormannnnnnnn true shit, and why is a bob song in the suggestions?

  • This Shit brings back memories :)

  • bling bling?

    i think that was jay-z

maybe you shouldnt be on drugs so much...

  • @87lostone Jay z dosnt write most of his own lyrics .

  • @87lostone lil wayne invented "bling bling" when he was just a teenager, he did a song with juvenile and after that is when "bling bling" started

  • Aesop Rock for President 2012

  • @RobKarmic. duuhhhh ha. take a fuken joke dude dam. fuken dick riders ha

  • @FuckYouImOnDrugs seriously dude, you know Lil Wayne's got nothing on Aesop Rock. His music is mediocre at best. Even then, I'm giving him too much credit.

  • @blinksback ha really???? no one copies lil wayne??? dude the entire rap game copied lil wayne. he invented the whole "bling bling" fad. haha. come on now. in fact he made up the word bling bling dude. ha. fuken hateR

  • @FuckYouImOnDrugs Lil Wayne made "bling bling" popular. Saying he actually invented it is a bit much. I can guarantee you plenty of people used that before he ever said it. Besides, that's not a huge accomplishment. He's not a lyrical genius by any means. His music is Mediocre at best. (This is coming from someone who actually likes a few Lil Wayne songs)

  • @FuckYouImOnDrugs "bling bling" is part of what's wrong with mainstream rap, so that's not actually a good thing.

  • Blockhead is the man!

  • only understood about five words in the entire thing..

  • he copied this song 4m lil waynes 1st album.

  • @FuckYouImOnDrugs no one copies lil wayne, he's a joke.

  • @FuckYouImOnDrugs are you retarted....

  • @FuckYouImOnDrugs You fucking joking?

  • You are a god, TairyHesticles.

  • Wow his fuck meth got more likes than my meth party.. What has this world come to??

  • I just realized, I think this samples Redman's "Yesh Yesh Ya'll" off Muddy waters album... But I can't be sure, can anyone confirm this?

  • @cptorangutang2 Redman's song samples Common saying it on "I Used To Love H.E.R"

  • @foreal1992 hey you're right, thank you!

  • @cptorangutang2

'Yes yes, y'all' is an old school hip hop chant, so it's unlikely Redman started it. According to Wikipedia, the originator was Spoonie Gee.

  • @blahdelablah I never claimed Redman coined the saying "Yes Yes Ya'll', I was simply wondering if Aesop had sampled one of Redman's tracks which contained the saying. Regardless, my question has already been answered, but thanks for the history lesson lol :)

  • Black Shades, Skinny jeans, vans, pro club, black hoodie, snapback or fitted caps,a few markers and sticker slaps,a gram of weed papers or blunt wraps, backpack full of shit to get through the day, cell phone and charger..........OH YEAH AND A SKATEBOARD...JUST TELLIN HOW I GREW UP AS A YOUNG KID IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA LISTENING UNDERGROUND MUSIC....

  • This was my anthem through High school.

  • thought about going back and seeing what product933 had to say about aesop but decided to post this instead. shut the fuck up and listen

  • Ask someone who just listened to this for the first time anything.

Probably wont reply soon, I'll be listening to this for the next 3 centuries.

  • 67 stomachs full of halo kibbles

  • @gaogamon3 O_o

  • My fuckin brain exploded when listening to this... It's worth it too!

  • I have to keep listening to this song over and over. Great

  • @WankerPatty If you're trying to say what I think you're trying to say, just stop now because I'll prove you wrong easily.

  • @Product933 also just drop the argument your arguing against 20 people on a channel based on old school hip hop saying its shit your not gonna win the argument itll just continue just accept your cant change our opinion and your just bitching at this point its not even arguing its just talking seriously just drop the commenting and go on with your life aggravates the hell outta me when i see people arguing like this >_<

  • @Product933 Needs to make a -rap- with a techno-pop beat, that talks about money, drugs, women, clubs, and a super-puffedup gangster past that never occured, throw some dumbass words like swag and nigga in repeatedly, maybe you'd like that? I mean do you fail to realize that Aesop and other artists speak in intelligence where others just speak to play tough? Clearly then it shows exactly why he isn't as popular. Not because he isn't good, but because people like you fail to comprehend.

  • @TheStresser12 If you're offended by comment, that isn't my fault. You find this to be "good", I find it to be a bunch of words cramped in a verse in attempt to make a good song.

  • @Product933 this is hip hop for advanced listeners. You should start at Lil Wayne or Drake and work your way up. If you follow the schedule correctly, you should be back here by Cinco De Mayo

  • @Product933 This is a comment I found of yours : "Nigga, you crazy Soulja Boy got his swag from Lil B. Only weak niggas listen To Soulja Fag." You are obviously not qualified to say SHIT. Gtfo of The comments you weak "lil B" fanboy.

  • @Product933 nah nah this is how hip hop was formed they would sit on street corners and rap about life and problems in the cities and in the government the shit on the radio and all the big names are an alteration between the beat in raps and pop music they changed it into a pathetic mix all the people your naming use pop based music or shit in general

  • @Product933 You my friend are a moron.

  • lifes not a bitch, life is a beautiful woman you only call her a bitch cuz she wont let you get that pussy!

  • @stonedgeorge this is one of the best relative statements i've heard

  • Lee Sin brought me here

  • @300daysandnights Wrong!

  • Life's not a bitch, life's a beautiful woman.

  • Hell yea. I needed to hear this

  • @cptorangutang2 Everyone has different taste in music, so what might sound good to me, may not be the same for you. The fact that he's too wordy will prevent him from being successful, sorry.

  • @Product933 i think you need similies instead of metaphors. lil wayne would fit your needs

  • @Product933 what you mean it will keep him from being successful? he already is. and its not all about success either

  • @Product933 this is rap its meant to be wordy and talk about life the kind of music your talking about is closer to pop

  • HE'S COMMERCIAL NOW, OVER 1MILL VIEWS...........WHY!!!!! LOL

  • @jcasa616 He's finally getting the recognition he deserves. Good rap may actually get on the radio for once! That's why!

  • aesop rock is a curious one. my interest goes in waves, from a peak thinking he is perhaps the best example of what i think music should be to a low in my more cynical moments of thinking he is just a theorist and a backwards flat-brim. today however i like and strongly recommend some Face Melter

  • I respect everyone's hustle, but this song right here isn't good.

  • @Product933

This song is amazing; you can't understand the complexity of it.

  • @Product933 name one that is, please, do enlighten us.

  • @Product933 You like mainstream rap. so your opinion isn't needed.

  • @300daysandnights Correction his opinion doesn't count because he's not educated when it comes to hip hop. Saying "it's too wordy," hip hop is all about emceeing and being successful might mean something different like defining it as putting out quality music instead of defining it by income.

  • @Product933 Are you insane?! This song is absolutely fucking amazing! You really must not be able to full comprehend the awesomeness that this song possesses.

  • Somethin About the music he makes just seems real... like it comes from within.. thats where good musicians and bitch ass musicians differ

  • @sarooballa1 First heard Aesop in 2007. None Shall Pass was still brand new. Getting stoney in this dude Steve's cabin on the Carnival Conquest. Good ol' days

  • This id the first song i have ever heard from Aesop rock. 3 years ago.Used to get ear fatigue listening to Aesop rock to much true my ear phones.

  • poop

  • 1.2 Million Views :)

  • Dope

  • fuck tvland.

  • awesome

  • As a metalhead, im a little surprised to say this guy is DOPE. AS. FUCK.

  • youtube is getting sneakier and sneakier with all of these ads

  • this guys on some other shit haha, wonder if this guy likes hallucinagens haha i just kinda get that lil vibe haha

  • ...

  • That would be such a buzzkill if I had a youtube music playlist going at my meth party and this meth commercial came on before a song...

  • Comment removed

  • @DownAndOutzzz Watch out! We got a rebel over here!

  • @DownAndOutzzz Would be more of a buzzkill at one of my wine and cheese parties.
