I was wondering about the wave beam's power too, what my testing suggested was the each of the three shots of an uncharged wave beam was equivalent to 1 uncharged power beam, but the wave beam's weird movement makes it hard to hit anything with all three.

This was in the wii trilogy collection, though, and I know they used some of the PAL values for monsters and stuff so it might be different.

I can't test the gamecube version because I only rented it back in the day.
