  • if i use this method once, will it show a big difference? btw my hair's black

  • my hairs pretty black and im pretty sure thats not gonna work at all for black hair lol

  • @CookieBear99 i have black hair and it worked :)

  • So my hair is naturally light , light brown . If I did this would it go back to my natural color ?

  • puke comment....ur an idiot..go somewhere else geeeeez

  • would this lighten virgin black hair??

  • Thanks, btw u look like Rhian Ramos ((:

  • after doing this, will your natural hair color come back gradually? Or once you lighten it with honey, it stays like that forever?

  • @MegaMaymay09 your hair will never go back to its natural color. The only way your hair will come to is natural color is when it grows. This lighten mixture will lighten your hair a bit.

  • So I have light brown hair but i've been using ion demi permanent dye from sally's for years now, and over time you need to lighten your hair again because with box dyes your hair will keep developing and eventually be too dark to dye :/ I was wondering if the peroxide will lighten my color without making me look like carrot top for a few days before I have a chance to dye it again?

  • It looks like puke in your hair...

  • I wanted to try this but everyone at my school is going blonde... so its going to look like I'm trying to follow the trend.... ugh.

  • @sweetheartw1 screw everyone at your school, do what you like! if you think it would look good on you, just try it :)

  • Thank you so much andrea it really does work and doesn't damage the hair at all! I have black hair and it took me about two times to get noticeable brown highlights and now the more I do it the lighter it gets, I love it!

  • I tried it today and I can`t get banana out of my hair ))))))) but the texture is different (in a good way) and roots are lighter! I will definitely use this mask! Thank You ;)

  • @veronica070489 hahaha that happend to me to!!! it took like a half hour to get it all out!!!

  • I am gonna go apply this right now...fingers crossed everything turns out well... :)

  • ive done this 4 times now. each time i had it on my head for 3-4 hours and i have DARK hair like you, similar wavy texture and nearly the same length. ok so 4 times with 3-4 hours that's like 12-16 hours so far and it's HARDLY gotten much lighter. what am i doing wrong?

  • is your dog a pomeranian?

  • is your dog a pomeranian?

  • is your dog a pomeranian?

  • is this ok to do on relaxed hair?

  • @TreminkaEdwards I think it is perfectly fine to do on relaxed hair because its all natural (the first way) or with your normal conditioner.

  • I am going to try this but im scared :o

  • It really does work!! :) wish I would of known about this before I ever started coloring my hair would of saved me from dying my hair trying to get it a lighter shade

  • if you lighten your hair , can it go back to dark naturally or would you have to dye it ? o:

  • It would be better to eat the Banana rather than to put it your hair, however honey is great for your hair. much love Andrea

  • To anyone who is going to try this I do not recommended putting the banana in your hair. I mix it up pretty well and still there was banana chunks in my hair it was pretty hair to take out too. :(

  • I did this and the banana went all through my hair so i had banana seeds and banana chunks all through my hair and it was very frustrating, but i added lemon juice because lemons juice is like a natural bleach

  • how long does this last?

  • How often should you do this?

  • the MAIN ingredient in this is the honey. the other ingredients are just added benefits for your hair, so be creative and anything else you want. lemon will definitely speed up the process and lighten the hair even more, but to much at a go can turn ur hair orange so don't add too much. same goes with crushed vitamin c pills. it'll take more times if you have super thick hair like me.

  • Wat if u dont use RAW honey? and use other honey . do u add hyrogen peroxide in it? (:

  • im going to try and do ombre with this :)

because i dont wanna dammage my hair with bleach/dyes.

  • My hair is dyed but I would like it lighter.. :) Does anyone know if I can use it without causing problems to my hair? :) thank you xxx

  • You are an amazing Young Lady; free spirited and your outer beauty is reflected from within.

  • 3rd time doing this and I'm starting to see some results! My hair is naturally a dark brown. I did this a couple of times last week and saw some very subtle highlights begin to show. I ending up leaving it in last night for about 3 hours and this morning all of my hair is about a shade lighter. I'm going to do this a couple more times at least so I'll check back in after then (btw, I have been mixing the honey, oil, and conditioner- the banana is unnecessary!)

  • I did this twice but no matter how hard i mix the banana i always get chunks of banana left in my hair..=/ i end up combing my hair over and over for half an hour.. everyone else in the same situation???

  • @iridanca you should try another way-conditioner + honey..it's better that way ..

  • can you use maple syrup?xxx

  • hey andrea! i have black hair and would love to try this tip :) just wanted to ask, what are your thoughts on using henna to dye hair?

  • Will this work with hair that has been dyed??

  • how often should i do this?

  • does the color last?

  • @mellybutton1 noo don't do it when your hair is wet, it has to be dry.

  • I did the honey and conditioner one, and left it for about an hour and a half, and noticed the difference after just doing it once! it left my hair looking really bright and golden! thanks!

  • wait i heard that honey makes your hair gray???? but im still going to try it out lol cause im bored.

  • do i HAVE to let it sit to develope? because i kinda just mixed it and put it in my hair because i forgot it had to develope(x

  • Can I add hydrogen peroixde? To the mix to make it work faster ?

  • question!: would this work with gray hairs?..

  • @Meka2000ify I dont think so :O

  • @DarkGirl253

ok thanks, dont have gray hair by the way lol. I was just wondering :)

  • I really need to know if your hair needs to be wet

  • @mellybutton1 It doesn't

  • can i use normal honey, cus icba to get the one on the video idont even no where to get it from :)

  • Should we wash our hair before we do this?? And will it work on blonde hair? Love this keep them coming :) xx

  • @corinneiscool1 nope :) u can c in the video that she applies it on her dry hair ;) ima try it now toooo =)

  • @denaelshabba thanks!! just tried it and it has already made a noticable difference!! which is great cos im not allowed to dye my hair :( really works!! Good luck xx

  • wouldn't it weigh down your hair if you use conditioner all over your head.

  • i just keep watching this over and over for some reason (*:

  • How offten do you do this?

  • totally gonna try this, I always wanted my hair to be lighter and I'm afraid to use bleach

  • As far as "storage" goes, it's not a great idea to make a huge amount and leave this mixture in a jar for over a month. The honey clumps up and the mixture just turns out not looking right.

  • Hey girls, I've been doing this for a few months now, and it really does have a visual effect! At first I was skeptical, because I use store-bought honey, but as I applied this mixture to certain strands (like highlights) I noticed that these "highlights" were really a lot lighter even in indoor lighting. In flash photography it really stands out, also. The first time I saw the actual lightening was maybe 5/6 washes in, so be patient!

  • Did you aply it just on you hairtips(end of you hair) ?

  • I've done this about 6 times and It went from a dark almost black/brown to a medium/light brown. I used store bought honey and the only thing is that it takes longer. Thanks for sharing. You = AWESOME!

  • This made my hair much lighter and it covered my black roots!

  • You're welcome

  • nice! i am gonna try! thank you so much! :)

  • Does it have to be raw honey or can it be the normal honey?

  • Do you know if it will keep in the jar? Or if it has to be made right before using? I was thinking I could add the honey to an actual bottle of conditioner and keep it in my shower.

  • im trying this for an ombre effect, im using normal honey so i hope it works the same :/

  • hey girls im doing this and its working :) i have naturalle dark hair with red base in it (idk i have like red hairs randomly -_- ) anyways my hair is getting lighter ...im mixing it in with coconut oil, egg, honey, and olive oil and it goes on smoother and my hair likes it ^.^ this does work ladies :D just be patient and used raw honey!!!!!

  • oh also how many times a week? or daily??

  • im going to do this... im to chicken to die my hair so this will gradually lighten my hair. im a dirty blond almost burnett

    LETS DO THIS

i did it today but no nanna

  • I did the conditioner with honey and it worked! The first time was just my hair shiny and actually nicer and a few hairs were actually blonde! The second time it was actually a little brighter now I've done it four times and from darkbrown haired, I'm golden brown Yippie! it worked effectively! you really should try it but remember that it will not be brighter for the first time! I did it twice a week and had it in my hair for about 2 hours!! :)

  • @JustinBgirl112 Did you use raw honey like she did?

  • @ggabyy11 no, actually I used just regular honey!

  • @JustinBgirl112 where do you store it? In room temperautre or the fridge? :)

  • @JustinBgirl112 if the honey its not in a liquid form, does is still working?

  • @MsLulunatic o yes is the same

  • @JustinBgirl112 hey, I ve tried it only 2 time till now and I didnt notise any difference. I will keep in doing this.

  • @JustinBgirl112 did you have your hair wet before applying it?

  • Watch my videos for makeup tutorials and more! I'm an aspiring artist and stylist so please please please check me out everyone! :)

  • if you put hydroxide in a water bottle and spray it to your hair it helps it lighten it especially with the sun !

  • Hahaha just casually chuck in a banana in your mix

  • can you do this like ombre? ,like just the tips?

  • can you use a different oil other than olive oil?? plz respond!

  • If I have a dark blackish/brown hair will this work to make it lighter and browner ? Help please :)!

  • which method did you use when u lightened ur hair with this? like the conditioner one or the oil and banana

  • @CatVonBarbPants conditioner and honey works best. plus the banana method is so much fuss. there is always chunks and seeds in your hair, no matter how good you mix it! :)

  • @klmeto thank you! :) also have you tried it with just regular honey not the raw, im feeling a bit lazy to go pick up raw honey haha :]

  • @CatVonBarbPants no i haven't, we only had raw honey. sorry. but i think it should work just as well, i'm pretty sure normal honey contains hydrogen peroxide also :) hope it works for you

  • @klmeto Thank you sooo much<3

  • i made a batch a week ago and made too much and left it at my mom's house. now i'm back at her house and forgot my honey, so i was wondering if i could use that batch after it's been sitting for a week? i don't want to damage my hair or have it not do anything at all :<

  • i used this method 8 times!! and it works :)

  • @ciciluff24 how many times a week did you do it ?

  • Ok, The dog humping the bear was really a funny thing to put in the video! luv you vids! lol :)

  • All I have is a leave-in conditioner... Will that work, too?

  • Hi, please could you do a video for curly hair and how to keep out frizz? xx

  • if i do this will this eventually fade? if so..how long would it take?(: PLEASE RESPOND

  • Will try! :)

  • I'm doing this right now but I added some lemon because I heard that it lightens your hair as well so yeah.

  • @minimichelleify Did the Lemon juice work?

  • @minimichelleify did you see the change immediately ?

  • i have this in my hair right now

  • olive oil honey banana blend

  • how many times a week can we do this or could we do this every day?

  • can i do it both ways and mix it together? or will it not work ?

  • Hi Andrea, i really like your vids verryyy much!I would like to ask about my hair- i've been dying it black for 9 years now,but i don't want it black anymore, so do you think the idea with the honey and conditioner is appropriate for me,will it work on me? I hope very much! Thanks in advance :)

  • @andreaschoice After you leave I'm the honey and conditioner mixture in your hair for 45 minutes, when you wash it out do you shampoo or just rinse it out???

  • You should be a film editor or something of that nature cuz your videos are always edited so perfectly.

  • @smileitsportia even better :)

  • I love you and your Vids andrea. You Are freaking amazing!!!! I'm spazzing right now but I was wondering if this method would be bad if I done it during pregnancy. My hair is dark and I don't not want to risk the color dye and I miss having my hair light and I really want to do something good and natural to my color unless there is no such thing lol

  • so i've done this for the first time tonite, & when i was done bathing, i combed my hair and ALOT came out . (btw, thats not really normal) do i stop ???

  • what if you add hydrogen peroxide?

  • can I make a lot of it so that I will not have to make it all over again every time?

  • oh this will last till it grows out:)

  • lol quicker method...just put peroxide in a spritz bottle soak ya hair where u want it dyed and blow dry...If not light enough repeat. Then when done wash and give a good conditioning cuz peroxide is drying....I'm sure her method works but waiting would kill me..lol

  • I have blonde hair and i noticed a small difference even after the first try! i was impressed.(:

  • Did those blonde pieces happen from the honey highlighter?

  • I will soooo try this my hair is really dark.

  • which technique do u prefer? #1 or #2?

  • Does this really work? :s

  • Guys, go to the honey thread on LHC forums.longhaircommunity(dot) com/showthread(dot)php?t=148 ... Or you can google that.

I looked it up because I was really interested in this, and apparently theres a whole bunch to it!

The honey can produce hydrogen peroxide, and apparently there are some things you should and shouldn't do to keep it working. Check it out, I think it's helped me.

I don't think I'm leaving it in long enough, but I really would like this to work!

  • @Peiazjaeh it lists the basics of honey lightening and how it works, which is nice if you are interested in it

  • how many times should u use this to get results?

  • @yanzu At around 2:30 she says how long it should take. =D

  • You could probably combine the honey highlighter with the coconut oil/egg deep conditioner treatment :D save some time (:

  • Hi andrea! I am Keyla from Puerto Rico...First, I want to tell you that I love your videos!!! Also I want to ask you what haircut do you have and how do you style your hair in time 0:07 of the video. Like you said before in one of your videos there are few girls with the type of hair you have ( I have a similiar hair texture as you) and I know how hard it is to find tutorials of how to care and style our hair. I hope to have your response soon and thanx anticipated!!! TAKE CARE

  • will the natural colors come back after a while? or is it permanent? how long does it last and does it change the texture of your hair?

  • Will the natural colors come back after a while??????

  • Hi Andrea !!!

Do you know how to make natural hair darkener ??

  • I tried this for the first time last night..I tried the honey & the condition.. I did add a banana....O_o.. lol I smushed it with my hand because i couldnt find my mixer.. I did get majority of the chuncks out however I wouldn't use it.. I have very long hair and had small little bitty pieces in my hair after I washed it that I had to pull out.. These were so small that I didn't see it in the bowl.. BUT I saw a difference after the first time. Not much on my brown but a little on my blonde.. <3

  • Your sooo pretty!

  • DID ANYONES HAIR GET REALLY OILY AFTER USING THIS?>?

  • @watwatwaahh .YES! :(

  • @watwatwaahh My quess is you didn't wash your hair as much as it needed:(

  • hey I used Organic Honey, but it's already liquidy.....does it work.

  • this is brilliant!

  • Should you sit out in the sun in order for it to work better? PLEASE ANSWER!!!!

  • if you do this will your natural color eventually come back?!Please Respond!!!!!!

  • @bubbazubba123 i did this and it did lighten my hair, but i did stop using it and my hair went back to it's natural color :)

  • @bubbazubba123 your hair will grow back its natural colour?? and everything fades overtime so i hae no doubt that this will as well

  • @iluvtwilightstuff1 thanks and is this damaging?!

  • @bubbazubba123 probably not, but you can still grow out your hair

  • @bubbazubba123 don;t be naive :P your hair needs to grow back again to get the natural color you had, after you dye your hair you can';t just use honey a couple of weeks and magically obtain your natural color again, so don;t dye your hair and wait for your hair to grow back :)

  • @bubbazubba123 Peroxide will lighten your hair permanently until it grows out.

  • @bubbazubba123 No. Only if it grows out.

  • How often should you do it?

  • u remind me of Evelyn lozada

  • Can someone PLEASE tell me how many times a week.or month you do this??

  • @Asc82491 I am taking a wild guess, once a week.

  • Raw Honey is EXPENSIVE!!! HELP!

  • @SnowbellLikes use regular honey...

  • did you melt the honey?
