  • i giv props to u guys Danger Zone is a perfect tune to hydroplanes. wish the quality was better nontheless very awesome vid.

  • Mega crap imagequality and ubergay music. Not a great advovate for hydroplanes.

  • Is this the gayest song ever made? No, Led Zeppelin reruns are the gayest songs.

  • apba should have made 2 classes of unlimiteds. 1 for the old school merlin, griffon, and allison powered boats "the real thunderboats" and then a new class for the mosquito sounding turbines.

  • A great video of showing how dangerous hydro racing is. Great Job.

  • i never would of thought this song would be good for a montage of any form of racing but it works really good here good job.

  • What's the top speed around ?

  • @indigoblue555 200+

  • @mcfatty510 thx

  • i am foreign exchange student from russia do these people try to flip they boats? Is these the goal?

  • I can tell you with certainty that trying to flip is NOT the object !! Go fast , turn left !! LOL

  • well, no. these boats have inches of hull in the water. a freaking bubble will toss you off step in a hurry with so little control surface in the water

  • no they r racing these r just crashes the goal is to win the race...

  • i have seen alot of flips living in the tri citys and going to the race every year best one was prolly when the golden dollar casino boat war finishing up his last lap after coming in last and flipped up and hit the water and broken in two.

  • im part of emcore team(u-10) i have to say ive seen some pretty intence stuff

  • Although I always rooted against him Bill Muncey in the Atlas Van Lines always seemed win here in Seattle. ~~R.I.P.~~ Mr. Muncey

  • The first boats to have a enforced cokpit was in F1 powerboat racing done by Tom percivals mechanic cant remember his name though .. sadly though tom percival died before he had one fitted. he died while racing in germany (I THINK) and an italian driver cut him up and he went up a bank a hit a tree

    R.I.P tom percival

  • I'm new to hydroplane racing boats and I ask myself:

Are the blowovers driver error or just bad luck?

  • Not usually...since hydros are actually riding on top of (rather than in) the water, there is always risk that too much air, or a wind gust will get under the boat and cause the blowover. Drivers have ome control over the aerodynamics of the boats, but as you can see, sometimes it doesn't help. I understand drivers prefer water that's a little choppy, rather than glass-smooth since it disturbs the airflow under the hull enough to minimize the blowover risk.

  • Incredible! I'm Steve Reynolds' daughter, and I still get goosebumps watching videos of my dad! Thanks for the show!

  • When I was a kid I called Bernie Little after Dean Chenowith died in a flip and asked why drivers were not protected by a canopy - like jet pilots. He laughed me off the phone and said, "kid, the last thing a driver needs is to be stuck underwater in a shell". The next year, the Miss Budweiser was equipped with a canopy. Oh, well at least he thought it was good idea!

  • I love Hydroplanes

  • I've got several late 80's races on VHS, I'll be uploading some soon. I've put up the double flip from san diego already.

  • Thank God for Bernie Little and the invention of reinforced capsule...George Stratton, you are missed.

  • poor video quality.. otherwise would be great.
