Holy smokes, I think I know how the cam got killed lol, jesus. I've been around very high end drag racing (TA FC) and also street strip muscle cars my whole life, and have never thought of just lighting an engine up and free reving it like that. Unless one plans on rebuilds like a fuel car between balls out rounds, I'd suggest a little more rpm control. Parts are only going to last so long from wear, do you want to kill it all at once out of gear with the hood up, or having fun driving.

Maybe that's how the cam got broken? Sounds mean though.

Probably was! I was always brutal on that engine!
Especially at the dragstrip in California!
