Danke! :-D

  • I do love this !!! I'm never tired of listening to it !!!

  • Music does in fact have the ability to trascend borders of language, culture and nationality.

    Very good music!

    Ramon

  • Not just Joost but so Joost! A more accurate sound than the Palast Orchester and an original soloist! Superb!

  • Thank you jonjamg! Palast Orch. has perfect professionals in the band (also very well paid. of course), but they play modern way, which has nothing to do with the original sound, I must say. Nothing personal, just the fact, which has to be mentioned. Happy New Year, all the best and thank you for listening!

  • @bhsisthebest - Very original scoring, perfect sound and: excellent 'historical performance' of the band leader and singer!

    Congratulations!

Greetings and best wishes to Bratislava,

    from hANDm-records.de

  • Listen to it each time I drink a Mocha!

  • Absolutely wonderful.

  • I'm a big fan of HOT DANCE & SYMPHONIC JAZZ band music of the 20's & 30's --I just discovered you! You guys sound swell bi-jingo! Hope you can come to Los Angeles California USA to perform one day!!

  • Fantastik! Prima!

  • Hello:

I first heard bits of your wonderful syncopation on a Youtube video by Aaron1912. You and your group have so successfully recreated such a wonderful style of music that was so unique. Are any of your CD's available here in America? Thanks in advance and please keep making such great music.

  • When will there be a CD of BHS featuring Herr De Winter?

  • @Studie289 - when we collect the money for production.... Some recording have been made almost 10 years ago and the rest is almost ready to record at any time.

  • @Studie289

  • @realhxq I meant message which I can find in my Inbox, not here on feedbacks, so we do not mix sending cd's with these nice compliments

  • Quite simply amazing! I have hundreds of jazz records from the 1920s -- and this band is a good any of the bands on my original records! Quite an impressive acheivement! I hope you will be touring America someday soon, and will visit Los Angeles -- there are many, many people here who love this style of jazz.

  • Thank you all for so nice compliments! We wish we could meet you all and play this music live and just for you!

  • @bhsisthebest do you sell online?

  • Three people missed the liked thumb!

  • what a plesure to see musicians playing seriously and faithfully this repertoire ---

    5 STARS and more!

    Bravi!

  • this is so wonderful , just lovely , the band is incredible and what can i say about henry de winter great singer and beautiful man !!!!! AAAA+++++ thank you

  • Prostě musím říct že bhs mě dokáže vždy naladit.

  • Cool

  • Love it!

  • 5***** X 5*****!

  • Years ago, I downloaded some hot jazz songs by a band labled The Bratislava Rollers. Is this the same band? I have Pagan Love Song, Shiek of Araby, Pretty Baby and some others.

  • Perfekte Stilkopie!

A perfect style copy! It's fun to watch and listen. Hope to see the BHS and Herrn de Winter sometime in Hamburg.

  • I just died in Das Caberet...

  • Danke, Henry de Winter!!

  • Die Intro ist derbe schwammig geraten...

  • You know, thank God there's people that care enough to try this hard to achieve this kind of a result. What a wonderful experience to watch & listen to this. The tune stays with you forever! Tight band - you can tell they're enjoying themselves.

  • To me, it's the saxes that make the whole sound! The whole band is awesome, sooooooo much talent, and the costuming is superb!

  • I know this was probably in digital format, but by gum it really really has that old feeling about it.

  • Can someone tell me why this Orchestra is so much hotter than the Palast Orchester?

  • Frankly - I can tell you why, because I was there since the beginning and I wrote most of the arrangements note by note from old records and rehearsed all the guys, but I would rather thank you very much for your compliments. We appreciate a lot your opinion and we do hope very much that we could play for you guys all in live concert (that is quite funnier I must say... Best wishes and thanks again!

  • are you on itunes?

  • Unfortunately, iTunes does not except Slovakia for selling/buying music through their store.

  • Compact discs ?

  • Because it's Slavonian? :-)

I think it's because of drums. BHS, OPSO, Melody Makers, have got authentic drums, but Palast orchestr has modern drums. And it's got interpretation as in 40's, but they're playing 20's.

  • It is not only drums - BHS, OPSO as well as Melody Makers play all the vintage instruments (incl. mouthpieces) as well as all techniques used in the 20's and 30's. We also insist on playing almost exclusively arrangements transcribed by members of the band or another arrangers from OPSO or Melody Makers. And, by the way, we would never play anything like Sex Machine just because it is good for the business and making money....

  • I never thought I would see anyone give Max Raabe and Palaster Orchestra a run for their money, but these guys do it in spades. Absolutely first rate.

  • As far as I know Max Raabe was present backstage at those fabulous concerts of Prague Syncopated Orchestra quite a few years ago, before he started his career and learnt everything he does now from them as well as we did, but - sorry if this sounds too haughty - we concentrated on the music and he is a very good businessman :-))))

  • But was the BHS ever invited to play in New York in the Carnegie Hall or somewhere? Or were they honored by most big American newspapers? I don't think so. So I know who would win the battle PO vs. BHS...

  • Thanks God we NEVER played any battle, because we do not care who wins. The only "battle" we did was a big band battle with Melody Makers and the ONLY winner was everybody who was there and enjoyed the music. And Carnegie Hall is just another hall where music is (hopefully) played. Nothing less, nothing more. I do not think, that music is any battle, so stay cool jazzxman01 and go for music, battle is business for another human kind :-)

  • You guys are amazing! I really love your music! Being a lover of the 20´s too, there´s no way but to reverence you all! Hugs from Brazil!

  • True art NEVER DIES!!!

  • Well, great. I think it sounds nearly like "Kapelle Oscar Joost: Herr Ober, zwei Mokka" you can find here in youtube! Thank you.

  • This arrangement was a transcription from original record done by Oscar Joost - you are right CMarkulis, thanks for posting.

  • @CMarkulis @bhsisthebest I have already added both versions to my favourites but can't help listening to the BHS / Henry de Winter version the most. It's not just listening to the music its also living it. I feel part of it and the period it was played in originally. Pre-war / Weimarer Republik Germany. Dobry! Großartiges Orchester !

  • I can't wait for the BHS to play in New York!

    Excellent group!!! I ckomaria

  • wow, realy good! Perfect sound, thank you! Is it the original Arrangement by Walter Borchert?

  • I would LOVE to know.... Send me an email, if you will get any details about the source recordings.... Thank you.

  • As said Stéphane Grappelli : "First class"

Why your westie does'nt sing or tapdance?

    Keep on I love it

  • bowled over by this - its absolutely brilliant!

  • Diggin' that double-breasted evening waistcoat!

  • Hello, actually we already played in the UK three times - always at Whitley Bay Jazz, thanks to Michael Dorham, the organizer and trumpet player and we always are very happy to play there! Many thanks for your comment.

  • Another superb find. Only now, thanks to YouTube, are we in the UK (the West??) discovering all these wonderful Dance Bands. We must have them brought to the UK. Superb - Bravo chaps!

  • I stand corrected. Of course it is!

  • Beautiful recreation of mid-19th-century german popular music. The sound, the dresses, the sepia tone of the video, all is perfect.

  • It's in mid-20th-century....

  • He's got a lovely voice. This is my kind of music!

  • subliem samenspel en performance.

    Het hondje steelt de show!

    Paulz.

  • Splendid!!!! This is one of my favorite songs now!!!!

  • just great ^_^

  • Very funny. Wonderful! It's like old times!

  • Hot Hot Hot! Another great video. This Jazz Orchestra is brilliant live, down to the slicked back hair and spats.

  • guess :-))

  • I really like this group.

  • What a performance, perfectly authentic!!

This one is WAY better than the version by the Karkoff-Orchester from the 1920s. GREAT!

  • he has a great voice, his orchester is great

    and his dog *_*

  • Fabulous!!! 5*****

  • Briliantní, super :-) Dík

  • Oh, my! Sublime!

  • Mr. Ober and two Mocca. That's funny ^^

  • What I meant to say "Waiter two Mocca."

  • Really great looking violinophone in the movie !!!!!

  • Das ist wunderbar!

  • why did he hold up 3 fingers when saying vier?

  • He holds up 4 fingers, but the fourth is behind another finger, so it's harder to see it.

Echt witziger typ...

  • Excellent Roaring 20s Jazz!

  • What are words, the lyrics for Herr Ober, zwei Mocca?...

  • We just have an authorized copy of original lead sheet from Henry de Winter. Do you mean that (German) lyricis or translation?

  • Say fantastic from Japan! you guys can play "real 20's music"! like Max Raabe I watched him at last month in Japan.

  • Hot Serenaders and Max Raabe is incomaparble :)

  • BHS is the best:) ...of course!

  • Wunderbar is right! This is real music. BHS IS the best! Thanks for the translation wilmersdorff, love the song but had no clue what it was about!

  • this is the best can get any better . love it. thanks

  • Most invigorating music of the swing-metropolis Berlin! I suppose most of you chums do not understand the text of this song. Here a kind of translation of the refrain: Waiter! two mocha for my baby and me (and some german cake). and a kiss from my baby for me, like that I save the sugar, because I am a poor chap!!

  • Hi all, check their website. BHS play mostly in Bratislava, Slovakia, but sometimes they travell a bit. Check the web site for details...

  • Fantastic!

  • Juraj for president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How wonderful to hear "real music" again thank you!

  • Great. Are there any records available?
