I did something similar to my Mazda3, but I didn't get the full cat-back Magnaflow exhaust system. I more or less just modified the original. All I did with my exhaust is I cut out the original resinator and muffler, then put in a Magnaflow 18" exhaust Canister in place of the resinator then straight-piped it back. Looks completely stock and is loud as hell. However, inside the car seems to be fairly quiet.
how bout power gains? and interior noise? significantly louder or is it quite mild? im thinking of doing the same setup with my 3...dont got the money for a full cat back XD

This is just a cat back, but i kept the stock resonator. So replaced the muffler (2.5" inlet and 2.5" outlet).
