"IT'S CRAP" mine lasted only 2 months. A week befor I scratched it on concrete so Sanyo said thay would only fix it once thay said it my fault ha! All thay did was dry it out, thay fixed nothing it always leeks so i pulled it apart & found that the main seal is to big/long so it will never seal rite also the camera button doesn't work now & the zoom in/out & the menu buttons is almost the same work "IT'S CRAP"

My WH1 just fried as well, no visible sand at all, was kept off the sand on the beach, took it into the sea, stayed at snorkel depth. Rinsed it in fresh water straight after. When I turned it on at home red light flickered then died, now dead. When I opened the battery compartment a couple of drops of water came out and a drop is in the flash and on the lens. Totally dead!

Anyway, i basically now have a $400 piece of crap lieing around and the warranty is long gone! I bought it in June! What should i do? If i repair it, i still dont want it! Um, no wonder Sanyo doesn't know where to get one, that doesn't EXIST. No such thing as a mini-hdmi to USB, they're completely different forms of transfering data, let alone cables physically. Camera doesn't come with any form of HD connections. Just buy a simple cheap mini-hdmi to full HDMI cable.

Yes i got a USB cable. You can get one from the Sanyo site. Anyway, it's not even a direct micro USB it's a Sanyo propietary micro usb. Can't even use mine though....

Yes, it's 2mp. Here are the differences between the CA9 and the WH1. The WH1 has a 3 hour battery, and the CA9 has an 80 minute battery. The WH1 is a horizontal larger design and the CA9 is vertical smaller design. The WH1 goes down 10 ft while the CA9 goes 5ft. The WH1 has an HDMI out but the CA9 only has a component HD out. BUT the CA9 has a 9MP camera thats good and should have better video quality, especially in low light, and will give sharper bright light video. I regret not getting it.

As a camcorder expert, i had, obviously, locked every port from the water, and it worked on Jurassic Park and the pool. But the SECOND i put it in the ocean, sand and salt got into the cracks, zoom stopped to work, sound quit and so did the speaker, the camcorder screen was going crazy and said bad things and water and sand got inside somehow. crazy

It has a 30x optical zoom, HDMI port, different style, 2MP stills, and can go 10 feet underwater, while the CA9 can go only 5 feet underwater with a 5x optical zoom, but it can take 9MP stills and it's smaller and doesnt have an HDMIport. The battery lifeof the CA9 is 85minutes while the WH1 is 3hours. Both accept SDHC cards.

Well im experienced with both the Webbie HD models and the WH1. You need to have the correct editing and playback software to play back and edit the Webbie and WH1 videos. The hp touchsmart can 100% import your webbie videos, you're just doing something wrong, trust me.

Um, both of you are wrong, especially RyansShowTV. It DOES have a USB port that helps you transfer files to your PC/Mac. Or to transfer just use a card reader. And Ryan, only HDV, Mini DV, and Digital8 camcorders use firewire. HDD, Memory card, and DVD camcorders don't use firewire.

Sadly this camcorder aint for you. It might be listed as a Dual Camera but it's pictures are utter crap. You camera is prob loads better than this. A good all in one camcorder costs a lot more. This is only good for HD video. ALTHOUGH you should find some picture and video samples of the VPC-CA9
