I don't understand why Capcom didn't port Monster Hunter 2 to the Wii instead. It's basically the same as the first Monster Hunter but with more monsters, locations, quests, larger town etc. And people outside of Japan could play this game anyway on their PS2 or PSP (Monster Hunter Freedom), but Monster Hunter 2 was never released outside Japan.

A good opportunity wasted if you ask me...

Oh holy crap yes. My lack of a psp made me miss out on that series, but I want it like crazy.

I recommend getting a PSP emulator to play Monster Hunter Freedom 1, 2, and/or Unite.

I am happy to hear about this, I love Monster Hunter, and I have not played it since the US servers where closed.... I tried playing the PSP version... but with out online, it was not the same for me. This with the english patch, would make a great "tide-me-over" untill MH3 is releases next year

If you get Wi-fi Max you can play Monster Hunter Freedom series online.

Unfortunately I completely missed out on Monster Hunter Series on the PS2. I have no idea what its like on the PS2, I know you can play online which they should of had an Infrastructure mode on the PSP version but for some reason it was just too much for them.

sweet, i am also making a MHG wii English translation, its actually remarkably simple, using a hexeditor like MadEdit, open the main.dol of the MHG G wii disc image(ISO). at the moment i am unsure if there is a byte size limit like the psp verions of the game( meaning limited amount of characters) as i am yet to inject the new main.dol into the iso and try it out. i am using a translated word sheet for all the items and monster :) .

Yep, he is using the PS2 Version as far as I know.

That is possible but you can only play it through GeckoOS or Softchip with cIOSCORP.
