hey, you should pull on the mouse for a little bit so you snake thinks its alive and he will do a better wrap. you dont have to but it looks nice when your snake does a full wrap. i will make a video on saturday feeding my red tail boa.

Man i need your help with my boa, Shes around 2m long, and i think shes eating 2 much, ive got a big cage for her, 2meter high, and everytime shes going down, i think shes hungry, i gave her 3 medium mices and she eated them with no probs, but 1 week later she went down to the floor, shall i give her 1 mice/week or is it only good to give her more food weekly? The other thing is, she arent full up when she eats the mices, shall i go over to bigger rodents, like rabbits or guineapigs?

when your boa gets active ,crawls around alot and breaks the cage down...then she hungry... a 2 meter boa can easily eat a medium sized rabbit. boas can eat rotents like 2 or 3 times the with of the snakes head. mices are way to small..i suggest you keep an eye on your snake because choking bunnys can kick your windows in..good luck

I have a ball python 9 months old, and a red tail boa.. feed them both live rats.. These gorgeous animals are designed to be perfect predators.. they already live in a place a billionth the size of their natural habitat.. why not let them have the thrill of the kill like they are supposed to have? Some people dont recomend it saying it could hurt the snake..but comon.. they are natural born killers.. thats what they do.. AND it is alot healthier for the snake to eat live rats/mice.

yeah rats can ber very harmful to a snake if left alone. If the snakes not eating the rat would not think twice about attacking it eventually it will just start eating it alive. This could pose a problem esspecially if your snake is ill.

If you just recently got him/her, as in less than a week ago, then give it another week to settle in.Some snakes are fussy eaters and dont like to be watched, unlike the snakes in these videos.Make sure your temperature is around 80-90degress F (hot side), and make sure your humidity is between 50-60% at ALL times.Put the rat in the cage, and turn the lights off, and leave! Come back in about 30 min to 1 hr. Also, you should be feeding it around 8-9pm.Let me know how it goes. Later.

Just so you know it can be very dangerous to leave a live rat or mouse in with a snake and then leave the room. A rat can easily injure or kill your snake. Its not something that should be done

@2l8tiwin its true i rescued my red tail and when i first got him he had mites and a retained eye cap and would not eat for anything. at first i had to leave him in a dark room for about an hour and a half with a dead rat just for him to eat. i removed the eye cap and took care of the mites and took good care of him for a long time. now he snatches live rats right from my hand when i put him in the feeding tank. your snake has to trust you. owning one of these is no game.
