  • HELLO SEATTLE <3

  • At 2:45 why didnt you just activate the low freq cut off instead of pulling dBs down out of your lead?

And do you always use a compressor 1st rather than an EQ?

  • where can i find the diagram with the Panning example.? Thanks. :)

  • @sonoffrog

    google image search

  • @ecallawmcknight

I found it on google somewhere haha

  • You have no idea how happy I was when I heard you using "Hello Seattle" as your example. I've watched a few of your tutorials now, and they're great! I'm subscribing, hopefully you keep them coming!! :D

  • @JordansBrightside

I like Owl city due to some of the cool effects they use in their tracks. It's always good practice to try and imitate others. Good ear training.

  • hey, when I mix my songs, I always end up having the levels on each track to loud, and my output goes beyond 0db. But I can't really hear distortion, and my mix sounds ok. Is it ok just to put the output down?

  • @AfiqHatta

NO. none of your inputs should ever go into red (clipping). You should NEVER solve the total output volume by using the main output slider. Always adjust your individual tracks to lower the overall volume.

  • @golgod7n True dat, however, logic operates at 32bit floating poit, which basically means you have unlimited (to all intents and purposes) headroom in the digital mixing environment. clipping 0dBFS will only affect the sound at your physical output stage (where the digital information gets converted to electrincal current to feed your speakers etc.) or when you record or bounce to a new audio file (as audio files are 24bit fixed and will therefore clip at 0dBFS). Still good practice tho :)

  • Gr8 tutorial dude...what would us average dudes do without your direction? Seriously, I've been having trouble mixing. a) don't have $ 2 pay 4 full sail self teacher/learner. Anyhow, out of curiosity, I heard some pro ME use Izotope Ozone 4 for mastering...is this true? What are you guys really using?

  • @pitolove71

Glad I can help. And yes, Izotope Ozone is a GREAT tool that is widely used by many. It's not cheap in any manner at all though. There is a demo that you can download on their site that is time based i think. Gives you an idea of what it can do.

  • @AlrightD

Maybe next time I'll type everything out so you can read it on the screen instead. lol

  • This video makes so much sense!!! I spent hours before trying to get my instruments not to drowned each other out and tweaking sound levels. Thanks bro!!

  • everytime I get stuck on something to with logic whether its mixing, mastering, or bouncing a song, i come here to your video :D Great videos man keep it up :)

  • anyway you can stop the annotations from showing up throughout the whole video? i cant see behind it :(

  • @AAhsim23

you can close them, just click on the "x" in the top corner of the boxes...

  • Thank You! :)

  • @GearsOfWar12 hey hey hey now. its just music. we are all entitled to our own opinions. beauty is in the eyes (and ears) of the beholder.
