Your pond is absolutely gorgeous! ..and your video helped me persuade non-believers, that my dream of putting a "topless" window in my own pond was possible. I have now in fact done that, it is beautiful, and I have no regrets, but I do have a couple of concerns: 1. My fish jump out over the glass! I have so far lost two, and would have lost two more, had I not been around to pop them back in! Do yours do that?
(2nd concern coming in next post, running out of characters!)
hello.. i need help.. what did you use for the window? i mean.. what sealant? that's my only problem and im almost done with my pond.. will silicone do? or any other else? thanks.. anyone could answer pls..
@gianolrac Hi There, the window was attached and sealed with a product called THE WORKS made by a company called Geocel it is available from mytub.co.uk at 5.99 a tube or screwfix. buy at least 10 and dont skimp on the amount you use. simply run a solid 2 inch wide 1 inch thick bead around the sides and bottom of the apperture and push the glass in place. secure the top with sash clamps until the sealant cures. Any leaks just lower water level and reseal where you missed. even works underwater.
@mickmongoose hey thanks for the info and tips it would really help me a lot.. by the way.. you got a really nice pond.. maybe you should make a video while someone is swimming on it.. lol.. thanks again.. :)
@mickmongoose Hi Mick, lovely pond! I'm aiming for something similar next year, to include a similar glass wall section. 1st problem; everyone in the glass industry seems to say I need 4-sided framing but I really want the top edge free. What spec. glass did you use with what type of framing? Or, did you go with acrylic for the window? Any chance of email contact?
...continued:
2. Frost. Mine has not yet gone through a winter, and I am a little worried about the glass if it freezes over! Has yours ever frozen over?
Thanks!
Mitzy
