Got that right. Went to Vietnam last year. COuldn't really talk to people. I was a little ashamed of my accent. So I got my mom talk for me. =]

You're lucky you got your mom translating for you. I usually get stuck trying to say 1 sentence for minutes in vietnam. yea, lol, I feel ashamed too. I guess my Viet level is the same as Adam's. ;/

lol. Most Vietnamese-Americans have trouble talking in vietnamese. Adam is an example because he mixes english in with his veitnamese sentences. I do that too. I use simple vietnamese not all that complicated words. Like there are two differents words for shopping and buying.

I don't mix my Viet with my English; only when I talk to my dad. Even though we suck at speaking the important thing is we know how and we won't forget.  I plan on sending my future children to Viet school so that they'll speak better viet than me. There's nothing wrong with knowing one more language.
