thank you ive beenn wondering how something straight like a piston can spin something round like that wheel for years and now i know and just in time for the science fair at my school
is that a condenser? If so what role does it play? I have made several solenoid engines and I have a problem with heat build-up any ideas? Please let me know. thanks in advance Matt.
It looks exactly like a gas engine (feed-line, spark plug), except for the fact that it is much gentler. That slow a speed simply wouldn't be that smooth with a gas engine.

You have no videos of it. I think you're fishing for channel views.

Nice looking and running little engine. Did you wind the solenoid yourself or was it off the shelf?

thats either a SOLENOID motor, or thats fake.

i dont understand why it needs a piston isnt that unificient and not really the point of having an electric engine

Yes it is a condenser. I put it on and the motor seams to run better. I have the Alum fins and that seams to keep the motor cooler.

@mattpow1 condenser stops erosion and burning of contact points by controlling back EMF>

Wow is this ever cool! I imagine its less efficient than a rotary electric motor, but look at the speed control you have! Excellent!

yeah its like a gas engine, it has a piston. duh!

unless it had a large flywheel, which it does.

solenoid motor...it sounds like a gas engine!
