Neat! I thought it was Vince Gill for a minute!!! This guy can flat out play- looks like he's having fun too....what more can ya ask for? Great tone and playing....
I saw a NAMM 08 video with a bunch of guitarists and this guy. I was like "who is that beast just DESTROYING IT up there?' Really great tones and melodies and he doesnt make mistakes.
I saw Doug open for MSG and was blown away. Met him afterwards, super super nice guy. Got a great picture with him, bought two of his cds he signed it all, gave me a pick. Truly great guy, phenomenal player.
Saw Doug with Msg as well he melted my face off ! Veery heavy nice melodic guitarist and a super awesome nice guy as well why cant all guitar gods be like him?
He was trained by Joe Satriani. He took over teaching at Joe's guitar school after Surfing with a Alien. He's a great guy, he performs and teaches at the Christian Musician Summit in washington, every year.
I saw doug last night at the Fat Cat it was at the least simply amazing. You can put him in some good company like joe satriani ,steve vai and alan holsworth keep rocking doug love the sound thanks for the autographs.
Everybody who I have shown this video has gone, 'Crazy...' and 'WOW'. Me? I am stepping into a dream with every view. Doug Doppler is so good that I think a lot of people cannot understand, but the world is slowly waking up to his virtuosity.
I did not realize that there are so many sad and bitter guitarists out there. When someone does well, they can't stand it. That's really sad. Joe Satriani had Doug play with him on stage when he was still a teenager - and now he's signed on Steve Vai's label. He's played on the G3 concert. So apparently the top guitarists in the world think he's got real talent.....so there you go.
This keeps getting better and better and better every time I view it! Doug Doppler is in his own time zone. I tried playing some of his stuff once and my hand fired my body.
Imet Doug at GIT in 1984. He was already a smoking guitarist. I base my legato techique from what I learned watching him. I'm proud to call him a friend, and totally salute his dedication to music, his students and the evolutions he's made as guitarist and a person. He's a beacon of stability to those of us fortunate enough to have him as friend. A truly gifted individual. Good job, I would expect nothing else
First song of first show on the '07 summer tour here in the U.S. with Michael Schenker. As a point of humor, you can see I keep motioning to the soundman to PLEASE turn up the backing tracks in the monitors. After about 40 seconds I pull my ear plug and determine that he's turned me up in the mix instead. To my dismay, he keeps turning up the whole mix each time I ask for more of the backing tracks - I think I'm still half deaf. I know, get a band. Hey, I've got one!!!
i had the amazing oppertunity to spend 3 days with this man forever changed me, tought me so much on the guitar
