  • Vikki Carr recorded Invitation in 63 or 64 with his arrangement on her Liberty album Discovery Vol. 2. What a pairing of outstanding talents. I wish I could have told Mr Florence how much I enjoyed his music throughout the years.

  • Sure! - Bob was the greatest

  • Oh my! I loved that!

  • I sure miss his genius! I'm so glad he came and spent some time with us in Reno Nevada. I'll always remember his awesome arrangements and keep his memory in my heart with each song I sing.

  • Bob was the greatest. Plus, just about the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. I sure miss him.

  • What interesting versions of these jazz numbers. Great chords and inventive harmonies. I love his rolling accompanyment too. Someone like this would still have so much to offer the world. I would have loved to have been in one of his concerts or lectures! Thanks for posting this great clip for those of us not privileged to see and hear him.

  • The late composer/arranger/pianist/bandleader Bob Florence, performing Bronislau Kaper's "Invitation" and "On Green Dolphin Street" at a solo piano recital for the Los Angeles Jazz Institute in 2006. I was present at this concert, and this will remain a lasting testament to his pianistic genius.
