This beat and bass line is lifted directly from an unreleased version of a Prince song called "Jerk Out". It could be on the last Time record, too. I forget.

@metalchix, Jerk Out was on the last Time record that came out in the Graffiti Bridge era. It's a generic Minneapolis funk tune and Jamie Lidell is obviously taking a lot from that sound. What he does with it is very different though.
