I am also wondering what will happen to the ruins of Babylon near Bagdad which got severely damaged by the Americans who built helipads etc. on top of them.

I don´t agree with you, when you restore such places you are taking away a part of it´s history. Preservation is what should be done, not restoration!

The sad part isn't that art is kept away from it's homeland, it's that the place it came from allowed it to go into disrepair.

I've always thought all things ancient should be restored.

Put limestone back on the pyramids, dammit.
