Demasiado marcado y poco ligado, la polifonia renacentista y no barroca debe de ser más empastada y con las entrada y salidas de las voces bien claras, solo se escuchan a los tenores y sopranos en cuanto a la velocidad es correcta!!!!
it just loses something for me not doing the piece in the original key, but it is good for high school. this type of music isn't easy for anyone to sing.
Actually, in Renaissance times, this piece would've likely been performed in this key. This is just based off of speculation and a little bit of research into the background of this piece. But I prefer it in the key of F minor (or A flat major, whatever you prefer). It's just that tenor part gets very high in that key that rarely can a choir of young people perform it in that key. Our choir is performing it tonight. We're taking it down to E minor, so it helps a little bit.
@margotlorena It indeed has just one b, and the soprano does start with an A.
The key seems to be G minor on the facsimile, but a transposition was perhaps meant because the piece is called "...primi toni", which we know to have been D, as you mention.

actually now that I listen to it and check it, this performance IS in the original key, in modern pitch of course.... sopranos start with an A....

this key they performed in is a third lower than the actual key, so this is really low.

the original key is either Fmajor of Dminor, it has one just one b flat and the sopranos start with an A
