All body movements in the kinetic chain move through the lumbo-pelvic complex, the 29 muscles of the core, bio-mechanic imbalances normally arise through tonic or phasic neural inaccuracy, don't understand your comment about power coming form the feet as this doesn't follow normal physiology.
Mr WikiProfessor, are you serious? He says power comes from the feet and then goes on to mention 'the core' alot. He's not saying that feet produce energy he's saying that if you get your feet right you can hit properly. If I'm in the ring about to fight and I'm given the choice of standing properly on firm ground OR having my feet amputated and my ankles balancing on trays of ice (with as much tonic neural accuracy as I can fill my pockets with) I'm going to choose the feet please.
I think he means that the power comes from the feet upwards,i.e through the legs. When you hook or uppercut you 'load the legs' by bending the knees and exploding off the back leg. The core is providing balance, but that will only go so far. You still need to have a good fighting stance....the power in the legs and distribution of the body weight is equally as important.
i think i get what your saying. the movement starts with the brain, travel through the spine type stuff. maybe his point is you want to be sure to getyour feet and thighs behind the punch?
Glad you found it useful - we are going to be posting a lot more soon, so please keep watching (and give us some input on what else you might like to see)
The hook is all wrong he's connecting the pad around the chest area which isn't gonna knock any guy out!

when you said lets just use this pillar over here i thought you were going to start punching it! lol
thats a good idea to do some light warm up with the dumbells as the arms feel better for it when you start punching.
as a southpaw it always takes me a few seconds to adjust to someone throwing their left first on the pads.
