  • das schönste Guitarrenkonzwert unter vielen schönen und der großartigste Interpret, einmalig. Danke

  • excelente performance!!!

  • the best version is too fast, I would prefer Narciso Yepes and Andres Segovia, but Segovia didn't play this concert! but he is the master of classical guitar!

  • ...gorgeous !!! check out 'MILES DAVIS' sketches of spain !!! LES

  • Very soulful and touches deepest parts of the soul.

    John Williams is without peers.

  • oh my god!!

    berliner philharmoniker and john williams!!!!!!!!!!

  • beautiful!!!

  • Barenboim conducts?

  • He is the best!!

  • what on earth was that noise at the end?!

  • Luppo, check the scale between 5:54 an 5:58. John starts off slow, he then accelerates in the middle of the scale, he then turns slow again (and lowder to compensate). The guy's clearly running out of gas there. Music's not just speed. It's speed in bravura parts and quietness in more expressive sections. It's smoothness also (meaning being regular). By the way your tremolo's way smooth...!

  • @lokoxlascuerdas Yup, and if you look how Williams plays the Leo Brouwer's Tonronto Concert, you'll see what speed is about :)

  • @xXxGoyexXx Ty for your free tour to guitar speed. How couldn't Williams be speedy, if he's sooo famouss??.Unfortunately, talent is not proportional to fame: check this guy who 's a neighbour of mine... El vuelo del moscardon por Carlos Ruben gomez. The Fligth of the Bumblebee by Carlos Ruben Gomez. Original by Rimsky Korsakov.

    Regards and t/c

  • @lokoxlascuerdas Uh, I think what you're describing - that he does - is called "rubato." By "being regular" you don't mean someone should perform as if he has a metronome ticking in his ear, do you? Bottom line: HE'S the one we're listening to and commenting on. A general question for all: When did listening to beautiful music beautifully played become a reality show with a know-it-all audience? Just wondering...

  • Paco's version is uch better.

  • @asskigdrive nope. it isnt.

noone plays this as well as John Williams... Pacos version is too flamenco'esque, and doesnt go well with this piece. plus his timing is often a bit strange.

  • @CT2507 I think this version is too weak... There's a reason why Joaquin Rodrigo was there when he played this piece.

  • Rodrigo performed by John Williams (guitar) with Daniel Barenboim & Berliner Philharmoniker.

Live at Waldbuhne, Berlin, Germany June 21, 1998

    Brilliant.

  • dont compare any musician

    just enjoy the music

  • @dvdcombo What's the prob with comparing?? Everyday we compare. Whe u sit u compare the distance between the table and the floor. The prob's if u are unfair when comparing... Now, guys, let's face it, Williams' scales are not among the fastest around, and Aranjuez is a quite scalistic concerto. Pepe Romero's, even Yepes' 3-finger scales are much faster. Let alone Paco's terrific scales.... So Paco 1 Williams 0

  • @lokoxlascuerdas ye but who's looking at the speed... seriously not everything is about speed i mean just listen the version of Paco's play and after listen to Williams, this one is slow and just perfect like no words to discribe it =)

  • @marinac2008 Marina ty for posting! As a guitarist, I can tell you that the first one to look at speedy scales has has been Williams himself. If he could have played them any faster, u bet he would done so . I agree however that Wiliams is a neat, smooth, clear sound guitarist. All his clips in YouTube are professionally recorded. But remeber this concerto's score is FULL OF SCALES...!

  • @lokoxlascuerdas Why do people think music is fastness? Answer to this!

Also, the problem in comparing is that everyone has own style of playing. Another problem is the wrong criterion - fastness for example. I can play faster than guys who love to show off with fastness, but the thing is that I love to play slow! You can recognize the real musician only in slow tempo and in very quiet dynamics! Most people will never understand that!

John Williams's playing is awesome in quiet dynamics.

  • @armandorms dont compare paco 's version to the perfection of this one... i dont like john williams a lot he is always so cold when he plays but this one is really mastered to perfection john captures the essence of this beautiful piece much better than paco did like usaid paco is a flamenco player, he will never be able to play classical pieces as good as aguy like williams or russel or dukic etc his postion before the guitar his not the most appropriate to play them

  • if this dos'nt bring a tear to your eye, you must be dead!

  • People love dividing each other into groups. Is it really that important that paco or williams play it better than the other ? I like John Williams "formality" during his performances, other than that I enjoy both equally.

  • You can feel the grief of the composer in this piece...

R.I.P to Joaquin and to his family...

  • La Reconquista!!!

  • That guy playing the flute is also perfect at the beggining,my complements to him.

  • @GabrielDhalaman2 It's not a flute brother, it's a clarinet. Beautiful, isn't it? :P

  • @GabrielDhalaman2 It's not a flute it's an english horn

  • I bought the LP 40yrs ago of the full concert written by Joaqiun Rodrigo (Sagunto Valencia Spain 1901-1999) and played by John Superman and Star wars Williams. Always a pleasure to hear it over and over again. By the way did I say one LP ? It was two I wore the first one out

  • john williams plays this cocierto really good but i think Paco de Lucia is the one who plays this best in the world

  • I believe this concert was in Berlin 1998

  • brings the hairs up on the back of my neck.....Awesome piece of music

  • No!! I haven't listened a concert like this Rodrigo hacia musica con el alma wow! is the best none like him

  • Equal playing field as Narciso Yepes

  • Tears of Pure Joy!

  • As a young man I was brought up on the music of John Williams, Jacqueline Dupre and Daniel Barenboim. Nobody ever played classical music the way these people did. They seemed to have an inate understanding of it and an ability that no other had at the time. How great it is to hear the Concierto de Aranjuez played by the finest orchestra ever assembled and John Williams in his best ever form.

    My all-time favourite classical piece.

  • .hmmmmmmmm.....deep breath.... makes you dream ...lay back and close your eyes.... listen loud ....and don't get disturbed.... ;O)

  • berlin waldbuehne, 1998. I was there, amazing memories.

  • @TheRepatriat . forgot to mention Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim

  • Brings tear's to my eye's . Stunning , one of the greatest peices ever.

  • @superbetty84 your comment is spot on

  • no soy nadie para criticar a John Williams, pero me gusta mas como la interpreta Narciso Yepes

  • Best Concierto de Aranjuez i ever heard, where did he play this and what year was it??

  • Berlin, 1998

  • @marinac2008 BEST CONCERTE DE ARANJUEZ IS FROM PACO DE LUCIA I BELIEVE!

  • Comment removed

  • @marinac2008 I agree with Musicantis. Let's face it, Williams scales are not among the fastest around, and this is a very "scalistic" concerto!! Pepe Romero, even Yepes or Julian Bream are faster, let alone Paco whose scales are terrific, the most poweful scales ever (menaing, as in physics: power= force x speed)

  • @marinac2008 i rather Paco's version... This is awesome!! But for me Paco is better.

  • sin palabras......

  • C'est un super musique!

  • did segovia play this?

  • @abby161919 No he turned this piece down telling Rodrigo that it will never be famous because it sounds too much showbiz. For sure Segovia is eating his words now. If they will meet in heaven for sure Segovia would not even want to talk about this concierto.

  • @TheTriptico Wow, Segovia actually said that? o.o I'd agree, really. I know it's a famous composition and all, and I liked it in the beginning, but the guitar part is simply too...well, I'd call it cliche or weak (compositionally) in places.

  • @ultrabot90 compositionally weak in some places? which places do you have in mind? man! you gotta listen to this piece again and analyze the score carefully.

  • I can't find parts 1 and 3 of this particular concert anymore. Were they removed?

  • no words to describe...!

  • Beautiful.

  • Wonderful.
