What a lame lipsync appearance. The dude on the right thinks he's in a heavy metal band or something. He needs to tone it down. This is 70's pop, not Bon Jovi.
Does anyone remember the old group that sang this song in the 70's i met them at the local waltons store and they singed my record, the single that came out had a flip side called Song to Romondo? they were the best at singing this Yellow River Song....
I was 15 when that song came out and I begged my mom to take me to the record store so I could get it.I think it was the best record I ever bought. It's simply world class--the guitar have a gorgeous lead guitar, the chords, melody and vocals are just mesmerizing and that kick ass drummer
really puts the whole song over the top. Yeah--these impostesrs, these musical drop outs of today could never equal--alone rival this kind of musical genius. I'm glad to say I was part of that generation! Kenn
Christie you and the rest of the boys look terrific. The song sounds just as good as ever...I know it's not the original but you almost think it was, really!!, You'd never know this video was taped in 1992...it's like the music, the band and the fans haven't aged much since this song was riding the top 10 back in the autumn of 1970. Another thing worth noting is that the bands of yesterday looked sharp, they dressed so neat...what happened?. thx4 video & song!
Support Hat Trick of Lions (Come on England) the new adaptation of Yellow River by Jeff Christie and help it become the unofficial World Cup anthem for the England football team!
Yes, they are lip-syching to the original track, but what an incredibly good track!!! I'd have to call "Yellow River" by Christie one of the very best rock records ever made. It spent 23 weeks on the charts in the USA in the summer of 1970. The original members were Jeff Christie (lead vocals, bass), Vic Elmes (guitar) and Mike Blakely (drums). Mike's brother, Alan, was a member of The Tremeloes ("Silence is Golden," etc.)
Terrific! There is a 2007 performance (in Germany) of Jeff Christie doing this and his San Bernadino song, too. A little bit better audio quality than this one. 37 years and the song is STILL fantastic!

@horarwgt Yes I agree. I like almost all versions of this song including the Tremloes. iTunes only has a re-recording which is not as good as this.

@horarwgt actually the original Christie was jeff christie and the tremeloes, they are the musicians on this recording.

A career based on one average song? Poor Jeff, but I guess it does pay the bills.

What a foolish performance! Three guys pretending playing!
But the "show" must go on and the audience must be fooled!

Are these the original members?
I recognized the singer but I'm not sure about the other guys...
If so they still look hot!
