  • It cost around $1500 (I already had the heavy doors and a couple of pieces of plate glass for the window). It took around 3 months, as an evening and weekend project. The ceiling is probably the most important part, especially since the room is directly underneath the kitchen.

  • Hey man would you mind posting some details as to the construction of this epic room? I'm curious how many hours of work / money etc this took, its wicked.

  • I do not just want that I F-ing neeeeed that.

  • What did you use for materials in a nutshell?

  • @ZZBigg

Nothing special. wood, sheetrock, insulation, wire, glue, caulk, some hardware, some foam, carpet, windows, doors, walnuts, peanuts, cashews, pecans...

  • @mroom21 What, no popcorn?

  • @mroom21 Beer?

  • Dude thats crazy xD

  • @kibuemogirl

Now I'm going to be moving and leaving this music room behind. I don't think the new owner of the house is a musician, so it should be interesting to see what he's going to use the room for!

  • @mroom21 Dude no way!!! O.o That's Crazy!!! The room is like Heaven on earth man, I can't believe you are moving plus leaving the beautiful room behind I hope the new owner is a musician thou... But wow i can't believe it i would do anything for a soundproof room especially the room! but i hope everything goes well for you! :)

  • @mroom21 Probably a torture room.

  • GREAT WORK MAN!! does your family even feel the buzz/bass sounds?

  • awesome! i wanna do this one day how much would the total be around?

  • It was around $1500

  • @mroom21 how did that only cost 1500 no way

  • @666kevbo

The materials aren't that expensive. It's all off the shelf stuff. You do the work yourself, so the labor is "no cost".

  • That's great. Where is this room in your house? I would like to do something like this in my basement but space is limited, thanks

  • @testfoecho

The room is in my basement, pretty much right underneath my kitchen.

  • What is this music???

  • @nunoxxx2 Seriously?

It's the Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin.

  • what product did you use and can you tell me about the glass in the control room?

  • @spoon12bil

What product did I use for what? The glass is just plate glass. I believe it was either 1/4" or 5/16' thick.

  • Thanks for your comment...Listen with headphones, and you'll be able to easily hear what's going on. I'm practically whispering at the end, and talking loudly in the beginning. I've made other videos that I couldn't even hear myself talking on the playback!

  • it would be better if u didn't count out loud so we could hear the difference

  • I just bought the pdf - very cool! Can you hear the music at all upstairs? I like that you got everything from a regular store and it just works (no gimmicks or specialty products). 1500 bucks is totally worth it when you consider what we all invest in our guitars, amps, PA, etc...

  • You can hear it upstairs, on the first floor which is right up above it. You can't hear it at all on the second floor. It registered around 57 decibels when the sound below was 104 decibels. You can whisper to each other right above the room without a problem. My family watches TV while we practice.

  • How big is the room? I was think 12' x 16' is what i wanted.

  • My room was 16' x 14'. I wish I'd made it even bigger. We have a 4 piece band which can practice comfortably, but I'd like a little more wiggle room to bring in a 5th person (keyboards)

  • awsome! i wish my whole room was that way!! fucking neighbors are bitches!!!

  • amazing!

    its almost dead quiet

  • the video doesn't really do justice to how loud the PA was cranked. It was LOUD.

  • Man I would love to do this for my band! What materials did you use exactly?

  • all the materials are in the plans. there's nothing special.

  • wood, insulation, drywall, secret sauce, some hardware, wiring stuff...

  • around $1500. I had the doors and windows already. Everything else was purchased. It's all off the shelf Home Depot stuff too, nothing specialized.

  • How much did all the materials run you?

  • verry impressive!!

  • Thanks. It was a cool project to put together.
