Not Frank Zappa or Don. This is clearly an oddly mixed version of the original Hendrix tape or an alternate take with lots of echo. I too, age 63 have seen Frank more often than I can count, and he certainly could have duplicated the Hendrix solo, but why would he? He's a genius in his own right and would have given it his own interpretation. Did he copy Jimmy Page note for note on Sairway to heaven?

Really, skeptics? One of the very few good things about being 64 is having seen him play for hours on end in the Garrick Theater, Greenwich Village in '67 (btw Jimi was down Street billed as Jimmy James and His Blue Flames). I can tell you first hand, this man's capabilities as a guitarist and composer were unparalled in his time. What a cheap shot to cry "fake" for such an awesome tribute. if you don't appreciate musicianship, fo watch Jersey Shore or something else 100% wasteful.

I dont know why a lot of you are saying this isnt zappa. It's clearly Ike Willis on vocals. One of Zappas longtime singers and it sounds like Frank's guitar tone to me. Pretty true to the original structure wise so i dont know how you can tell it isn't him just by listening since the tone is mainly what your going on and it sounds dead on. Also I like how Ike Willis' voice is similar to Hendrix. This song will always be amazing.

My best bet is that this is a pretty good guitarist who has really worked on "little wing" till it became a natural for him, as thousands have along the years. He is a pretty good imitator of Hendrix's voice, but I strongly doubt that htis could be hendrix, the playing is not his, and the voice isn't either. Of course it is neither FZ nor Beefheart, but I think nobody is going to discuss that, it's pretty obvious !
