  • Being a kid from the 70's......wouldnt trade anything for it....we were outside of the house and not online,or playing x box

  • lol! check out at 2:35 , i'm freaked out by that creature whom is standing in the doorway looking down at the little kid!

  • @bretdee

Heck, I love that picture. I can just imagine that kid opening that door and seeing that...haha. he doesn't look afraid at all but just amazed.

  • I went here in 1988 I was only 4 years old

  • My mother worked at Santas Village and she was an elf. Your video even has her in it and my mom died when I was 16 so to see her again on this video was wonderful!! I grew up going there all the time. I would love a picture of her but dont know how to do it. She is the one with santa and the deer. If you could help me out I would be very grateful!! Thanks for the great memories again! Lori

  • 4:20 GOD THAT RABBIT IS FREAKIN' ME OUT THERE

  • The Santas Village Park in East Dundee Illinois is reopening as a Paintball Park. How exciting!!

  • @tekno90000 where did you hear that? Azoosment (that petting zoo) supposedly opened up there. I was there the day they opened and talked to the HEIC (Head Elf In Charge) about hiring me as Santa Claus, but they never got back to me.

  • Why cant we have nice places like this now. I drove by the NCal one many yearsa go and it was so sad... It would be nice to have Frontier Village back as well dang it

  • so sad its gone =( I remember very little from there but DO remember my grandma & grandpa used to take us come every december. we have pictures & they are awesome memories. its sad to see what it is today.

  • I went to the Scotts Valley SV many times in the 60s. Thanks for the memories. I *love* the soundtrack!

  • If you mute the god awful music it's a great slideshow!

  • looks a bit cheap and tacky. nice for the kids, i guess.

  • I love this video!!!! I wish I could work there 60 hours a week at 35 $ an Hour!!!! If only life were so simple. 5 ***** Shawn

  • The footage is great!!! . The music accompanying it does not fit at all? Too bad. Would benefit greatly with narration and period music.. This sounds out of place? Seriously. Consider re-doing it as short documentary. Could be fantastic! Signed: a fellow video editor/ film maker.

  • Santa's Village Santa's Village

I did have The Christmas Medley by Linda Eder on the video but YouTube blocked it because of Copyright violations. I'm sure she lost millions of dollars because of my little show. What is on there now is just a generic tune randomly provided by YouTube and I have no idea of it's name or origin.

  • @jerrymiles Hi Jerry...Thanks for posting this.I was talking to a friend about what happened to Santa's Village and searched it,and found this.I was there when I was,I think 4 years old or so,so sad it closed. Listen,I am a professional songwriter, and if you want to redo music with an original Christmas song that will not get into copyright problems, but will accompany this very well, let me know,I can email it to you to see if you like it to use.....Robin Randall

  • @jerrymiles

There are thousands of Christmas songs. I see you like The Beach Boys, How about Little Saint Nick, That would be swell.

  • @jorgecubria

The trouble was YouTube was not allowing copyrighted songs to be played. But Robin Randall (above) was kind enough to allow me to use one of her works. If you would like to see and hear that version go to Santa's Village 2. Enjoy!

  • My cousin worked there in the early 60's. (Santa Cruz Location) She made 60 cents an hour as an elf! HA We spent lots of quality family time there as kids. How did we ever survive without video games and computers!!? DOH! ho ho ho!

  • whats the music

  • OMG!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting, I remember going to Santa's Village in the mid 1980's, so much funny, I still have a picture with Sanata Claus that I found.....

  • I still have the coloring books and before it closed, my family and I went up there and we got some merchandise. I really miss Santa's Village. it was magical to me.

  • I was living in Riverside at the time I went to Santa's Village. I still have a ring that I got from the gift shop, that was around 1965.

  • A wonderful place it was! Great to have been a child back then. Lived in Crestline when I was little & was at Santa's Village all the time. We've lost too much of what made childhood so special, innocent & memorable! Such family activities & outings have been replaced by Gameboys & Playstations, AYSO, cable T.V., outrageous homework assignments & fundraisers for our supposed "shortchanged" schools. My childhood WAS a childhood--I'd go back in a second! I don't know what you can call it today.

  • GOD I MISS THIS PLACE!

  • Very nice. Most of the photos are from the original Santa's Village (1955) from Skyforest, CA. I did see about 1/2 dozen of the Scotts Valley park that opened in 1957.
