Children of course learn through redundance. That was the point of the show. And it works because of the great combination of simplicity, redundance, and a flashy commercial like style.
But that said, it is funny to see one of the Sesamee Street characters getting annoyed by the very technique of the show.
Q: What would Bob Barker, Drew Carey and the cast of "The Price is Right" (past and present) think about when Sesame Street made a parody of their game show, "The Triangle is Right"?
This could have been called "The Shape is Right." BTW, There was another The Price is Right parody that was hosted by Oscar called "The Trash is Right."
Guy referred to his game show "To Tell a Face" as stupid, but quite frankly, I think this one is twice as stupid. And Prairie thinks so too. Notice how they've given her different eyes to indicate just how bored she is.
I like Prairie. I got to see her preformer, Fran Brill, at the Center for Puppetry Arts. She talked about her carrer as a Muppetear and showed clips of her work. And I got to take a picture with her and Zoe!
I think that circle is also right.

Carl guessing a circle on The TRIANGLE Is Right should be accompanied by the fail horn.

On Friday, October 28th, 2011, Jeopardy had a clue in the category "THE SHAPE OF THINGS." The answer is:
Something deltoid resembles this shape.

That first triangle is obtuse. The one for the megaquestion is equilateral.
Intrafacial86 1 year ago
213 the triangle is most definitely right. I wonder if it's a 3-4-5 right triangle, or a 5-12-13 triangle

I have to agree with Prairie. This is a dumb game.

Even as a kid I didn't like this skit because I was thinking exactly what Prairie Dawn said: "This is a very dumb game."
I loved Oscar's "The Trash is Right" skit though. :)

I've been looking for this one for years. The grand prize -- a trip to the BERMUDA TRIANGLE! Prairie should have taken the prize.

Was Guy Smiley suppost to be based off of any emcee in particular?
oldzac87 3 years ago
supposly, i read he was supose to be
based off Tom Kennedy , Bob Barker,
and Gene Rayburn, rolled into one.
He had been created when TPIR took off
in popularry in 72

If you ask me, Mathman and Mr. Glitch would've been better contestants for this show.

"Would you lower the triangle--uh, lower the mystery shape, please?"
With hints like those, I can't blame Prairie for hating the game. She's the most level-headed Muppet in the bunch after all...

It was really funny when she was running across the stage.
