they dont really care if you film, but they have to say it because it is regulation, just like the saftey briefing. my dad is an airline captain and he said he doesnt really care...
Cell phones can't interfere with aircraft. They want you to turn those off during take off and landing as those are typically the two times when,if god forbid something happens. They want your attention. Plus those in flight air phones are damn expensive to use.
How are you able to film this? Every time I fly they're always so anal about turning off all electronic devices and they seem to go around and check each passenger to make sure they have turned them off.
The FA's never have an issue with me filming and I actually get a smile occasionally. It's not like I have a cell phone that can mess with the instruments.. it's just a camera.
I'll have to try it then. I flew on Alaska. Maybe their rules are different and Northwest allows cameras. I just know they always announce that you must put ALL electronic devices away.
