  • I would love to go to Havana and Cuba, but my parents says that they can´t afford it!.

  • Sweet!

  • man you dont hear engines like these anymore! such a damn shame.

  • Oh what sounds! Sounds are so so perfect!

  • the skoda of the air it is

  • Viva Cuba! Greetings from Russia!

  • good video :)

  • now this shit. flew from east berlin to havanna

  • Kustnezov or Soloviev?

  • @elettrico00 The IL-62M uses the Soloviev D-30KU

  • jajajajaj...this plane looks as if it was landing instead of taking off at some parts....what a freakin' slow climb rate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! scary...jajajjajaja....it is one of the coolest planes ever, for me though....

  • @superfestiva It's because it is tail heavy.

  • An excellent plane ! I flew from Vladivostok to Moscow back in 1985.....

  • fantastic! *-*

  • I like these planes they are always all time classic.

  • I get panic in the take off's and more scary is flying in a Russian plane

  • no the IL-62 is a beautiful plane it may be 50 years old but still since russian stuff is so well built a IL-62 will outlast a airbus and thanks to low costs some IL-62's still fly in africa and cuba

  • An afterthought....The IL-62M is like a good old-fashioned bar of pine tar soap, butt-ugly, but she gets the job done!!!

  • wow the sound is just awesome

  • YOUR TELLING ME these IL-62's were the most safest airliners for over 50 years plus thier 4 kuznestov NK-34 turbofan's are based of military engines so combineing this with a near indestructible illyushin airframe they have really prooved russians can build amazing thing's instead of mass destruction. these engines are really about 32 years old still have a turbojet type spool up but are reliable cause thier easy to work on and for cuba this is all they can afford to buy. i do love the sound!

  • well they can afford to buy boeing and airbus airliners, its just that the US embargo against cuba prevents them from buying them because boeings are american and airbuses contain american parts, therefore, their only options are russian airliners, but if you ask me, its a blessing in disguise because its makes it easy for american plane enthusiasts to fly the russian jets that they would have to visit Eastern Europe or Africa to fly otherwise =)

  • those DNK-34 ENGINES sound sinister

  • Nice, the sound of engines makes it all worthwile to get on an IL-62 flight.

  • Amazingly quiet for an IL-62

  • love that sound! music to me ears!!!

  • Muy lindo decolaje........

  • MUSIC!

  • I love this engine sound

  • and i use VIGIN ATLANTICS 747

  • what camera do you use?

  • I just use the video function on my Canon Ixus 750.

  • obviously an american speaking..

  • XXman you are absolutely right

In my country we had 2 disasters becouse of the same engine failure.I am talking about Poland

  • @majajasnoch Since 1967, 42 airlines operated this plane and there have only been 12 fatal accidents (9 crashes, 2 landing overruns and an aborted takeoff). Of 9 crashes, 2 were engine failures with the same airline (LOT) - one aircon fire (Interflug) and 6 navigational/weather related.

Within the group of airliners (Il-62/M, VC10/Super VC10, Boeing 707, DC8) the Il-62M had the lowest hull loss rate. There were no fatal accidents involving Il-62 between 1989 and 2009.

  • I played the beginning of this over and over just to listen to those freaky old cold war engines power up. Where are Boris and Natasha?

  • If you enjoyed that, check out my video of the engines starting up during pushback.

  • I saw it, thanks awesome sounds. I have played this over and over. Love those cold war sounds. A bit spooky almost.

  • I saw your video on the CV 990. Too bad there don't seem to be any passenger seat vids of this plane. Alas, it went out of service before most videocameras, I guess...

  • Escapando de cuba

  • Russian Engine's sound REALLY RULES!!!

  • Awsome video! Nothing beats the sounds of these old first generation turbofans!

Tienen Internet ahi??

  • Was this an aircraft engines or UFO's?

  • Vintage planes sound like vintage guitars.

  • Totally awesome musical sound of those Soloviev(?) engines as they spool up.

  • Wonderful video, spectacular sound. Thank you so much and please do not pay attention to bad comments of ignorant people. You did a great job on the film. It is so sad when I leave Habana. Again, thank you.

  • I like the sound of those russky engines

  • Where was this flight going to?

  • Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

  • in english please!

  • you do know they have interntet in non-english speaking countries, right?

  • to ultimateskinfan. Yes I do, but I'm just wondering what he said. I'm not saying that you HAVE to speak english on youtube.
