O HERE I GO AGAIN! WALKING INTO LOVE, SO HERE I GO AGAIN!! I WON'T STOP UNTIL YOU ARE MINE!!!

    FANTASTIC SONG!!

  • PRICELESS!!!

    JUST LOVE THIS FANTASTIC SONG!!

  • Smokey is the best!!!! Singer/songwriter. I've always loved that cutie! and that sexiness in his voice. Every single song, WOW!!!

  • It is amazing...I just can not get use to his talent. It always blows me away.

  • SMOKEY , BOBBY, RONNIE, and PETE at their BEST !!! "OTHER GROUPS may be COOL...BUT THE MIRACLES RULE !!" .

  • OMGoodness, no matter how many times I listen to this song it just transports me back to days when things were just simpler! Music was just sweet!

  • this song, well most of Smokey's songs bring back so many great memories for me. I grew up in Lincoln/Larimer and these were truly the days. We would hang out on the corners singing these songs. The flip side of these 'hits', were hits also. I miss those days as well as my only brother, Robbie, and all the old friends. We really grew up in the best of times. I listen to the oldies alot, thx for posting.

  • while all of my friends were listening to temps, i was was swooning with smokey. his voice only gets better with age. thank god for sharing this wonderful talent with us

  • To american gangster you probably dont work and dont know how to act and when you cross the street you drag your feet

  • This is a nice video; classic Smokey... sweet

  • MAN SMOKEY ROBINSON WAS SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO HOT BACK IN THE DAY AND STILL IS TO OTHIS VERY DAY YOU CAN TELL HE WAS BORN WITH A GIFT FROM THE KING OF HEAVEN

  • Smokey, one of the greatest.

  • Yes, Priceless - Smokey Robinson's work is a timeless treasure.

"I ignore the detour signs - I won't stop until your mine

I'm pass the point of no return"

  • can't remember the year it was, but I do remember walking several blocks to the (now defunct) record store to buy the album just for the song on it.

  • i dont care if this sounds racist us black folk r the gods of music , we mastered this music shit man.nobody can compete , were just the BEST!

  • Smokey's timeless music.

  • I really try not to sound like an old Fuddy Duddy but damn when I see and hear this performance it does make me wonder......where are the young balladeers? As great as Smokey was and is, he didn't have the greatest voice. Not when you compare him to some other legends but as my Dad use to say "When you can move people with the song you're always correct. MAGNIFICENT!

  • @tnkd3 Beautifully said my man. Romancing has went out the window and has been replaced by outright freakiness. Males call themselves "dogs" and the females call themselves "bitches". What has happened?

  • Is it just me? I can listen for house to the fabulous voices of almost any singer from any decade before this one -- even those who had less than perfect ones, but still sounded terrific in their own style -- and I can hardly stand a mere 15 seconds of any of the voices that are out there in mainstream radio. Voices like Smokey's touches your soul because he sings like he is really feeling it. Something that today's singers cannot comprehend.

  • I could listen to smokey all day. A voice incomparable soo mellow I agree with tahoe350 100%

  • I must of been about 12-13yrs old when I heard Smokey sing this song on American Bandstand, where my love for him and music all began. Thanks Smokey and keep it up.

  • Watching and listening to Smokey do this gives me goose pinples

  • "Is everybody ready??!!???!!!!!!!!?"

    "Yaaaaaaaaaaaay Smokey!"

"Alright, here we go. One, two, one, two three four...!"

  • This is exquisite.

  • This is the best live vocal performance I've EVER heard Smokey do...usually I didn't really think he sounded all that great live, back in the day. Nobody has written more fabulous songs than Smokey, and nobody ever will.

  • Crooner Emeritus, I think I hear genius!

  • Cydney, remember our first dance, (Feb. 8, 1969).

  • @iammadea...Smokie too was a stylist not a singer. I will agree he is probably one of the greatest songwriters ever, but no better singer than Alicia.

  • Oldirs are the Best.

  • THE MIRACLES : (L to R) : PETE MOORE, BOBBY ROGERS, RONNIE WHITE, SMOKEY ROBINSON.

  • You're right. This is even better than the record. Love this.

  • >> TO ANYONE THAT VOTES THUMBS DOWN TO THIS MASTERPIECE > WHY ARE YOU HERE ? > THIS SONG IS PRICELESS <<

  • @stud2me4u my sentiments also

  • everytime i hear this song it just send chills throughout my body here i go again this a must in everyones collection this song will be my daily meditation

  • @overnitesinsay Amen to everything you said. Absoulutely!

  • thiis music now lost its soul smooth and real love was everywhere now music makes love into a game sad people really what they hear love this vibe right here smokie now i see how he wooed the women folk

  • can anyone find the live version. he sang this and his comments thru the song make me just melt. smokey. just smokey.

  • Mmmm, mmmmm, mmmm

  • crooner emeritus

  • one of the most prolific song writers that has been, no one today comes close, well now I'll take that back, there is of course Alisa Keyes, now while I think she is a great song writer I don't think she can sing very well, someone should have her take voice lessons to show her how to use her voice without straining so much. when you see her on tv performing she is straining , you can see veins popping from her neck, not good, not good at all. Smokey could do both.

  • @iammadea2 alicia IS A STYLIST. Jjust like billie holliday They don't hit notes straight on and they can go above or below a comfortable octave. the trend in music today is to sing in a higher key.

Listen to the music of the 40's and you will hear a lower key . today the girls and the guys sing way up there. make sure you check out our girl niva doing her soul thing. we are carrying on the soul and rnb tradition.

    Peace!

  • @iammadea2 Alicia Keys, that is a effin Joke. Tina Marie has authentic White Ivory Soul. She is not a Parrot like Alicia Keys, or Amy Wineshit.

  • @iammadea2 NOT

  • @iammadea2 ditto!!! I thought I was the only one who noticed that this chick always sung off key along with Mary J Blige.

  • @iammadea2 I have to agree with your comment about Alicia's talent writing songs and lack of talent when it comes to singing

  • Very beautifullydeep Ballad!!! Check out my videos Ive sung this song. Please leave comments. Just type in Naazir Russell.

  • love this song, this was the first song my brother Jerome made me sing at the age of 9 when he found out i could sing. I must of sang it 100 times until he thought it was my best. Thanks Bro.....you made me a better singer.

  • Damn this sounds so good!

  • This is where life separates fantasy from reality, when it comes down to nothing but the lyrics, the music and the wonderfully blended voices that create rhythmic memories within us that may never be captured again. This is timeless, it speaks for itself...and it will forever speak to our souls...

  • I don't like..I love this! I have been crazy about Smokey since I was a young teen and I would get so excited when he was on television that I would cry. It seems funny to me now, but I still get excited. His stylistic phrasing is so consistent with his passionate lyrics, like wire running over electric current. No one else does it for me like Smokey.

  • Wow!!! That was Singing!!!!!!!!

  • Wow!!! That was SANGING!!!!!!

  • Smokey's the Poet Laureate of modern American popular music.

  • REAL MUSIC. SINGING WITH HARMONY. I'll pass on the GAGA.

  • Wow thanks poster! Great video:)

  • I so love this song!!!!

  • Smokey Robinson's voice is like Hot Sweet BUTTER!!!!!!

  • I have paranoid schizophrenia and it's been getting worse lately with drama in my family...Most of the time I listen to Smokey to make myself feel better or relieve myself of head aches but I most likely listen to him to stop the tears from falling...god bless you mr. robinson!

  • I was in 8th gradewhen this song came out. Now tht I'm older I know the real meaning behind this song.

  • americas poet

    nuff said

  • Damn, WE are ignoring the "detour" signs!!!!

  • Just reunited with my FIRST love after 25 years...........we were trying NOT to "go there again" but we did!!!!!! This was OUR song!!!! Boy, have we grown up!!!! Much better than when we were 17.

OH, but now we are both married.......to other people. Just gotta stop it!!!!!!!

  • Great performance, great tune!!

  • Damn can somebody bring the good old days back!!!!!!!!!!

  • Smokey's voice is, surrender to love, smooth. Wow!

  • Thats Groovy.

  • Smokey is still with us. Not so with David Ruffin, Otis, and so many others. What an impact he has had on our music.

  • This song is awesome...Smokey put his signature on this song. I remember as a young teen playing this song over and over again. Wow...his music makes being in love an adventure. Beautiful!!!!

  • Nothing any artist has ever done and could ever do can touch this performance....I thank the Lord for blessing me to have lived in the times of Smokey.

  • I have always had the highest regard for Smokey, sings of love with a passion and pure d class...Love me some Smokey

  • Smokey is woefully underrated as a singer and performer. In this clip, Smokey shows you what can be done with a song when you simply sing the damn thing. No fancy lighting or slick moves. When you do that, there's nothing between you and the audience except the song, the delivery, and the voice. This is a good song, with a great delivery, and a divine voice. Smokey does everything right by just standing there and simply singing the song. It's beutiful. Now I'm going to hit replay

  • GROWN FOLKS MUSIC.. SMOKEY OOOO DAMN U STILL SOUND LIKE WOWW...

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • PERFECTION PERSONIFIED!

  • if u aint oldskool ... u must be lost

  • God has truly blessed him with that voice.

  • @hmngbrd The studio recording was great. This live version is even better. I hate to sound like an "Old-Fuddy-Duddy." but man; where is tody's Smokey Robinson? And don't say Chris Brown; pleeeeeease. Not even in the same ballpark. I try to listen to the new stuff; really I do. But it's too empty and mediocre. Smokey, Marvin, Eddie Kendricks, Sam Cook, David Ruffin, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, James Brown, Peobo Bryson, Jeffrey Osbourne, Teddy P., Levi Stubbs; you guys took it all with you

  • @tonycozart Is is safe to say that their are a few like Joe, Brian, and Tyrese maybe I mean their aren't too many that actually right all their stuff but they could possibly come close..I think if music today wasn't geared so much toward sex some of these artist wouldn't even exist after the first single....Sad to say but I think it's true

  • Puuuuuure beauty....

  • This song is heaven incarnate.

  • smokey robinson is (in my opinion, and in my heart) the greatest singer/songwriter ever......

  • Ok !

  • With this music I am In Motown Wonderland. Thank you. These sweet sounds are gone but left behind "so many memories"! You are the best nublackmusic

  • they really don't make music like they used to :( amazing

  • @soulmziklova - They were also the ONLY Motown group during the sixties that wrote their OWN material (ALL of them..not just SMOKEY.

Yet, despite all this , they have been BLACKLISTED from the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME for 23 YEARS...FOR NO GOOD REASON !!!

  • @soulmziklova - you're right ...but they SHOULD !!! THE MIRACLES have MORE SONGS inducted into the GRAMMY HALL OF FAME than ANY OTHER MOTOWN GROUP . More than THE SUPREMES, TEMPTATIONS, 4 TOPS, JACKSON FIVE, ...ALL OF THEM !!!. Also, more artists have covered THE MIRACLES' songs than ANY other Motown group !!! Over 50 of their songs have been covered by POP,COUNTRY, REGGAE, ROCK, BLUES, R&B, ACAPELLA and MOR/EASY LISTENING artists. No other Motown group even comes close !!!

  • @soulmziklova THE MIRACLES were SUPERSTARS before all of those other groups were ever even heard of.

  • one of my favorites by my man, Smokey, His voice along just melts me.

  • definition of a true romeo...*sigh.....makes me melt

  • This one of my favorite Smokie Robinson& the Miracles love song's. I saw them sing @ two now defunct Philadelphia venue's. Back in the 60's. First @ the " Uptown Theater", @ the old " Convention Hall. I know Smokie is in the Rock n Roll hall of fame as a solo artist. But I don't get the "Snub" of a sucessful group like the Miracles. By the Rock n Roll hall of fame. It's disgraceful on their part.

  • I LOVE ME SOME SMOKEY!!!! Him and the Miracles were incredible!! I love this song so much!

  • Smokey had the voice like no other and the Miracles where sooooo cool.

  • Beyond superb. Absolutely brilliant!! The combination of the visual and audio is magical. This is just an impeccable performance.

  • he is drop dead gergous luv ya smokey

  • I've loved Smokey all my life and videos like this are a wonderful reminder of why. He's a legacy--5 stars, 2 thumbs-up. xoxo

  • Miracle Bobby Rogers was also born on the exact same day as Smokey...IN THE SAME HOSPITAL !!!

  • Well, that's my Smokey fix for the morning. I can go to work now!

  • THIS IS FANTASTIC!!!

  • As Bob Dylan once said, "He is the worlds greatest living poet"

  • Bob Dylan was right, love Smokey

  • Dam do smokey look gooood for his age or is it just me? HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SMOKEY THANKS FOR ALL THE MUSIC THAT YOU HAVE SHARED WITH THE WORLD keep up the good work!

  • HAPPY 70th BIRTHDAY TO MR. WILLIAM-BILL "SMOKEY" ROBINSON...FEB.19, 1940!!!!!

  • click on : smokey robinson tribute. check out * alphonse* the former lead singer of the miracles singing i'll try something new. it's great.

  • Magical

Why can't we bring back good music like this?

  • This is one fine dude

  • Maravilhoso ! Muito obrigado !

  • pure genius

    'nuff said

  • GREAT !

  • absolutely beutifull <3

  • I love myself some Smokey and this is my favorite since childhood.

  • Wow...Notice how this was back when they had all the black male artists straighten their hair? How old is this? 50's? 60's?

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! bobby rogers did an awesome job with the outfits!!!

  • Unusual to hear a band live in that era, except in concert. Thanks.

That voice! Those harmonies! I wish there were more people around who can really sing, who really value that.

  • One word: Miraculous!

  • never get tired of it, must have seen this hundred times and it still gives me goose bumps.. sounds better live than the recorded version by far

  • Doo your the king

  • Reminds me of when I was 15 and sooooo in love....couldn't noBODY tell me noTHING. lol

    Nice quality post Family.

    th(ANKH) you

  • "Lady WHO ?"

  • Tell the story Smokey, with your legendary self! 10*

  • I Still can't understand why this is less popular than people like Lady GaGa .

  • Lady WhoWho?

  • Lady Ga Ga is current and in style right now. She will likely be forgotten eventually. It's just how it is man...most of the time nowadays record companies push craptastic music down the throats of radio stations and on to the young listening population. Nothing more to expect after that.

  • Damn ! That boy can sing a ballad for real

  • Awesome Tune, sing up Smoke !!!!!

  • THE MIRACLES are in : THE VOCAL GROUP HALL OF FAME....THE DOO-WOP HALL OF FAME....THE GRAMMY HALL OF FAME (4 TIMES) ...AND THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME.....SO WHY NO ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTION ??

  • Bobby Rogers did an excellent job putting their clothes together. Pink and black looks so good on them!

  • Can you imagine if they put SAM into the RRHOF...but left DAVE OUT ? If they put GLADYS in.. and left THE PIPS OUT ? If they put in David Ruffin ..and left the other TEMPTS out ? Makes NO SENSE, DOES IT ? SMOKEY recorded his greatest tunes ...NOT as a soloist, but with BOBBY ROGERS, RONNIE WHITE, PETE MOORE ,MARV TARPLIN, and CLAUDETTE ROBINSON..HOW CAN YOU LEAVE THEM OUT... and give HIM ALL OF THE CREDIT ??as if they never existed? PUT THE MIRACLES INTO THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME !!!

  • LOLZ! But you are right, though. smokey had a grammy award for the song, "Just To See Her", and he had alot of hit songs as a soloist. david ruffin only had one song that was a big hit, which was "Walk Away From Love".

  • this music is so perfect...no flaws

  • I like this song and I always like the miracles even when William Griffin replace smokey.

  • great song ,my sister had all of smokeys albums, with the miracles and and solo

  • Those aredefinitely collector items!

  • im gonna call her to dig them up for preservation, thanks

  • He is so beautiful.

  • Can't wait to see him at the Prim this May and again at the San Diego County Fair on the 4th of July.

    Where's theres SMOKE...there's FIRE!

  • OTHER GROUPS are cool...BUT THE MIRACLES RULE !!!

  • The essence of soul right here.

  • the best of all time

  • So glad i've now been educated by Smokey and Miracles fans. Forgot how good their music was.More to them than i thought. There's a lot i never got round to hearing at the time, growing up i guess. But getting to know them tonight, has made my week. Thanks, just awesome.Never too late to get re aquainted even at my age??

  • Thanks,Musiclover , for your kind remark. You are quite right:

Even after Smokey left , his replacement, BILLY GRIFFIN, and original Miracle PETE MOORE wrote the entire "CITY OF ANGELS album...and that album went PLATINUM... something Smokey has YET to do solo. So, those of you who thought that THE MIRACLES could do NOTHING without Smokey....you'd better go back and re- read your MIRACLES HISTORY !!

  • There are no words to describe how great that was!

  • Thanks for commenting. Be sure to check out our live version.

  • @beeshor1 I concur with your sentiments completely....it takes your breath...puts you on a heavenly plane of love, and mmmmm...the words are not enough.

  • ....SEE what I mean?

  • Oh lord have mercy, one word says it all.....Smokey.

  • stunning...sheer magical,honey dripping humongous gorgeousness

  • everyone stop trippin just kick back smoke a blunt, drink ur budlight and cruise down whittier blvd during the cruising nights and listen to some smokey and a lil of barbara mason

  • With this kind of negative attitude towards THE MIRACLES..and the exalting of only SMOKEY..IT'S NO WONDER THAT THE RRHOF ONLY INDUCTED HIM..AND LEFT THE OTHER MIRACLES OUT !!! They didn't do this to the other MOTOWN groups ! It's HIGH time that THE MIRACLES as a GROUP RECIEVE DUE CREDIT, NOT JUST SMOKEY. They were just as much a part of the recordings as HIM. I'm glad that people are FINALLY GETTING THE MESSAGE. the MIRACLES are finally getting a star on the HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME next month.

  • yes sir you are 100% right

  • Smokey is a genius. But, you are right, the Miracles were a solid group: all could write songs and the background vocals indeed made their sound special. The Miracles without Smokey were great with Billy Griffin as Smokey's replacement, relying on a whole new set of songwriters, so that says a lot about their talent.

  • I like ALL of THE MIRACLES ...INCLUDING SNOKEY. I just take issue with those people who only like SMOKEY and THE TEMPTATIONS ,WHILE BASHING THE OTHER MIRACLES , or say that these tunes were only recorded and written by SMOKEY, and NEVER GIVE THE OTHER MIRACLES CREDIT, AS IF THEY WEREN'T EVEN ON THE RECORDS . Read the comments on this, and other MIRACLES songs on Youtube. They only give credit to "Smokey, Smokey, Smokey" as if Bobby Ronnie Pete, Marv, and Claudette weren't even on the songs !

  • yes sir you are right, give them recognition

  • Not to mention the Million - selling hit "DO IT BABY", the Top 10 R&B hit , "DON'T CHA LOVE IT , and the seven other charting singles they recorded without Smokey . What about THEM ?

  • Billy Griffin was not a patch on Smokey! The Miraclles have had great success and r a great group but they were never as good as the 'original' Miracles with Claudette. and Smokey.

. Smokey however is the master, Bob Dylan was not wrong! and even Bobby, Pete and Claudette have nothing but praise and respect Smokey to this day! So stop bashing Smokey Robinson

  • You mean like the platinum-sellihg CITY OF ANGELS ALBUM ? and the multi- million selling #1 hit single from it . "Love Machine ?" The Miracles wrote THEM !!!Where was Smokey when THEY WERE WRITTEN ? Smokey hasn't had a Platinum single or a # 1 HIT as a solo artist ....But the MIRACLES HAVE HAD BOTH !!! Stop bashing the MIRACLES.

  • All of THE MIRACLES co- wrote the songs...NOT JUST SMOKEY. If you don't believe it , go to Wikipedia and look up this heading: " Songs written by The Miracles members" ...better yet , pick up The Temptations' first 5 albums, look at the writing credits on the songs, and see how many times you see these names : ROBINSON, ROGERS,MOORE, WHITE,and TARPLIN. (The Miracles) .

  • and what about all of the solo Smokey work since 1972 i suppose that was written by the miracles as well! oh and sung by them!

  • I like "To Far to End it Now"

  • if anyone was born in tthis era, thank smokey!!!!!

  • Agreed! What a beautiful voice.

  • Always love you Smokey....Dee Dee

  • Fu*kin' God damn CLASSIC!

No songwriter ever told a story as well--or as compellingly--as this dude.

The symbolism and euphemisms he employs in his wordplay is an absolute treat to listen to; and he can also sing his ass off; and so can the miracles.

    But the word play.

    That sh*t is phenomenal!

  • Exactly! I totally agree. listen to any of Smokey's songs and the words alone leave ur head spinnin! He puts words together with such skill there are too many examples to quote and on top of that his beautiful voice just blows u away!!!!!!!
